  • What the vortex doesnt happen like that 5:50 spinning mass of air, it doesnt spin under the wing :S

  • How come someone disliked this amazing vid!?

  • @10rosegarden14 Probably an Anarcho-primitivest.

  • Why does the call of Nature force me to poop everyday? This can get annoying sometimes, with all of this poop that comes out of my bunghole, and I have no way to stop this. Why?

  • i think the evolution is is true but not with humans . and i cant understand why most ppl who love wild life and nature dont belief in GOD its so obvious there is someone have much MUCH more intelligence , knowledge and creativity than us .

  • @seifkarawia Humans are not special, we are just like any other animal on this planet.

  • @kimokamal5 do you really believe that ur an animal ???

  • @seifkarawia Of course, we are all animals, and we should be proud of it. every atom in our bodies was made inside the stars just like any other animal. and there is no such thing called soul.

  • anything BBC, bound to be cool :)

  • Thanx for the upload....truly fasinating

  • I agree technology and nature should work together and technology has alot to learn from nature.

  • AMAZING SHITTT

  • OK. First of all, nature doesn't abhor waste. It only requires that the waste be minimized in the face of competition. For example, photosynthesis only uses the red, less energetic, part of the spectrum, and is therefore less efficient than solar cell technology. What it is, however, is easy for a biological system to handle, and efficient enough to make plants work. In the absence of another way to create energy from sunlight within a biological system, it will do.

  • @puncheex i agree. Esp with the plant example but what some people may call waste i would call redundancies, if they assist when something else fails its obviously not a bad thing.

  • People flew in in balloon style machines before winged crafts

  • @dude157

True, think I remember some studies about natives of tribes in South America that built flying gondols (stretched baloons), 2-3000 b.c

  • They show a vortex around the wing and then they reverse the direction on the bottom. I think the first picture of a vortex is wrong.

  • @farvision

They are saying that the air flows more rapidly over the upper surface of the wing (lower pressure) and more slowly below (higher pressure). That's the standard explanation of lift. Wingtip vortices increase drag, but I have never before seen it claimed that a vortex circulates around a wing parallel to flight direction. Perhaps they are depicting the relative forces rather than the actual circulation.

  • @musekiteer: Agree. I was going to point that out as well; it could be claimed that the lower speed underneath could represent some kind of vector/difference vortex, but in reality it isn't there. It's Bournoulli's effect coupled with redirection and displacement of air downwards that cause lift.

  • @puncheex

I expect that the animation was created by a graphic designer who had not been adequately instructed -- or not clearly instructed -- about aerodynamics.

It's understandable. Nobody can know everything, so graphic artists and CG designers must often illustrate topics way outside their knowledge zone.

  • the slow motion filming of that forest hawk is AMAZING!!

  • @defect530 easily one of the most awe inspiring videos I've seen..
