Yes. It's just a private train for the railroad executives. Just a couple days ago, the Norfolk Southern execs brought some big wigs from BNSF & UP down to Jacksonville for a fishing trip lol. Probably discussing business along the way.
Not quite. Listen closely and you can hear the 567 prime movers from the 1950's. They might be refurbished with new parts, but they sound like the F units from 50 years ago.
That train went through Charlotte just this Saturday and many railfans except me in which I only do Wednesdays for trackside got the chance to picture it.
I'll try to find out for you. I think it might be going through there in a week or so because of the NRHS thing in Chattanooga this week and the CEO of the NS is speaking there I think but I'm not sure how long it will stay in Atlanta and all that stuff would take as I mentioned to trains91. I'll give you a heads up if I hear anything.
Hes staying in Atlanta until Thursday then heading west to Dallas, Texas to pick up some cars the UP are letting them use then I think coming back to Atlanta. Thats all I know.

@guitars14 Thanks for taking the time to reply back. What is the purpose of an OCS? Does it carry NS excutives on business trips?

This looks like one of Southern Railroad's old locomotives used during the time the offered passenger rail service.

They are still F units through and through.

No man they have GP38-2 prime movers...
graysonator123 2 years ago
geez, that train is a bit over powered. 4 locos can pull a 50 car mixed frieght for crying out loud

The A-units are former MARC F-9ph's, but they had their square pilots replaced with authentic ones and are also HEP-equipped.

are those fp7's?

Their bodies are F units but the actual engines are GP38's.
