I'm sorry Mr. dork! I was told early on that in the cyber world, speling an puncuaton iz not important!! 3 plus 2 is 5!! iz that intelligint?? you dumb shiiit?
you might want to take this opportunity to go F__K yourself!! Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!! whoops, I forgot you're not going to help me!! ( would it make a difference if I told you I was chineese?
I'm actually a pretty nice guy! just sick of dumbasses like darinmaclachlan and yourself!! and don't worry, there's not much chance I'd call on you for a damn thing since I don't even know you!!
Great vid of an old classic , btw, I'm raising awareness about the Chinese Communist Party persecution of 70 million Falun Gong spiritual practitioners for 10 years in China. They are put in slave-labor camps, forced to make stuff sold here. A 2009 UN report said vital organs are even taken from them and sold on the black market. Falun Gong practitioners are peaceful, not terrorists. China is where all the jobs are going, and the media doesn't cover it. It must stop. Thanks.
I haven't heard this one in a long time...it was great hearing it..thanks for posting jimc. Thanks for sharing with me ELRANDY....I totally agree with your comment. :)
Yea, I almost forget Charlie. For me it's very important that he was a SUN guy. Anyone know if u can find "Rebound" here at youtube? Thanx for this post and great song
'tis true. When the Beatles visited back in '65, the song was playing over the radio with Elvis playing along to the bassline with his own Fender bas.
I love this video....wasn't this from the show Shivaree with the goofy M.C.? Charlie Rich was a great singer, it's easy to see why Elvis enjoyed his sound. Charlie Rich did another great song called 'She Loved Everybody But Me' from the "Tomorrow Night' album about 1973 or 74...sooo great!.
What an incredible groove! And Charlie Rich really was an outstanding singer. I really can see why Elvis heard that on constant repeat for hours. That's what I'm doing since hours too...
Charlie Rich was one of the greatest vocal stylists to ever sing cool country rock and blues. His voice was supple, understated, witty and wise. With the right material, manager, and health regimen, he might have possibly rivaled Elvis, who admired his talent.
Yes you are right, I watched 'The Beatles Anthology' a couple of days ago and Paul said Mohair Sam was on Elvis's juke box, on repeat, when they arrived. It was their record of the moment too :)
Yeah, unfortunately, the sound is really bad on my "original" copy of this clip, and it gets even worse when the clip is copied. But there still seems to be quite a bit of interest in the clip, even though the audio is highly suspect.
Off course it's rare stuff, but I thought maybe if you capture it with the recording level a bit lower,it would be fine, but as you say it's on the main source allready,so there's nothing to be done I guess!thumbs up!
WOW! I love it! As a major major Charlie Rich fan and collector I am blown away with the rare performance of Charlie Rich Sr in his pre Countrypolitan sound and look. April Stevens' sassy sequel is a unexpected delight <I didn't even know there was a sequel!>
OMG, where in the world did you find this?? I've got every song he ever sang and have been looking for something like this for so long! This man was so amazing, but he never received the recognition he deserved. Thanks so much for uploading this video! Naomi
This is awesome and ultra rare footage of Charlie Rich...There isn't a lot footage of CR around, and certainly not from this early period...very cool.
This clip is from "Shivaree," a syndicated show from the '60s, similar to "The Lloyd Thaxton Show," and "Hollywood A Go Go." In most markets, this aired in the mid-afternoon, right after school.
What a great pairing! Killer versions of both songs. Sound is OK for me.Thanks for posting!!!

The scene where Charlie Rich cuts the guy's necktie shows the sense of humor The Silver Fox had.

April Stevens (at least in this video) is one of the most alluring women I've ever seen.

Charlie Rich was so talented ,his RCA , Hi AND Sun recordings are amongst some of the best music to come out of America during the 1960's

GREAT!!! And what an amazing difference in tv production style compared to music televison nowadays!
The legend goes that Charlie Rich's "Mohair Sam" was on the turntable when the Beatles visited Elvis in his home in Bel Air on Aug. 27, 1966.

I wonder if that's April's brother, Nino Temple, as "No Hair Sam?"
Cris43130 4 years ago
Nino can be heard doing some background vocals..but he does not appear in this video.
jimc1389 4 years ago
Could be now as Nino is practically bald.
But this is a great answer version to the Dallas Frazier song
thefamilycat 4 years ago
"No Hair Sam" is portrayed by a mannequin, not Nino Temple.

Fabulous! Charlie looks dapper and cool. What a voice, what talent and what a shame he had to wait until the 70's to get his dues.
