  • I would love to know what sort of camera mount NASA uses. They can keep the Space Shuttle steady and centered in the screen even after SRB separation, and yet even with my fancy tripod I can't get that good of quality zoomed in 12 feet. lol.

  • i agree it was a great launch, but who turns first the spacecraft or the aircraft?

  • @jasy87 Generally speaking, Stargazer (the launch aircraft) continues its flight plan after ignition. The Pegasus is already way ahead of the aircraft by the time it re-crosses Stargazer's altitude. I'd imagine that the pilot generally does some sort of avoidance maneuver, but they've never had an incident where a Pegasus hit Stargazer.

  • ah, gotta love that C-SPAN/NASA commentator tone of voice... almost excited, but still just mostly monotone.  good vid of launch.
