I really cried while she's singing that song. I really know what she felt at her lowest point because that's what I'm feeling at the moment. I totally gave up on joining contests because of the same reason that happened with her but because of her I feel like giving it a try again. I just have to ignore the negative comments and to be honest that comments are what keeping me away from my dreams, it's really hard to hear that you're not good enough straight to your face. I hope I can be brave.

He seems like a nice guy who really cares, but is that just the talk show host in him? Not trying to create a debate, but really want to know. It's difficult for me to follow the Phil entertainment scene and know who has been supportive and who hasn't because I don't read/speak Tagalog.

I can't help but to cry while watching this too! Wow! She stared down all those who ridiculed her (even the adults) and triumphed. But you would expect kids to be mean as they sometimes will. But when adults are demeaning and belittling kids, it's sending the wrong message. That is somebody's child you're talking about and harassing. first time i saw her on LBS, i saw the indefinable "star quality" in her! and my idols are ella fitzgerald, billie holliday sarah vaughan and sting, pavarotti, carol banawa. you just can't help but stare and listen, every gesture, every nuance, in awe and wonder. her life story is so touching and it is so beautiful
I don't know what those people were thinking but yes it must be out of envy . I have been following the videos of Charice for a while now and she was very good to start with and has just gotten better every time she opens her mouth to sing. I love her voice, and I think she is very pretty and has a beautiful smile! So Charice... if you can see this please keep singing for the rest of us who are happy to see you and hear you without envy and have nothing but best wishes to send your way! :)
@franzken unfortunately that is so true of so many of these 'talent' shows or contests... it should always be about talent on a talent show! But as far as I am concerned though it is a moot point because I think Charice is more than pretty... she is lovely with a beautiful smile, gorgeous skin and a voice that doesn't quit!..She's going places for sure and I will be following her music avidly as will all the folks whose opinion matters to her! There's this video where she sang a French song, and another one i think the title was "i wanna be with somebody" i think. And she has got the moves, the rhythm, timing and everything. uhhh, this video is so emotional, i feel her pain when she lose that final round, on the you tube i cked that archives of LBS charice sang so well and got 3rd place and her forced little grin like smell so painful i can tell. she got the best voice in that round,but lost. the judges gave her a score of 91? and i wonder what the judges scored the 2nd and the 1st winner. & maybe char's fam &friends no money to buy loads for their cp to text votes for her.well GOD has purpose 4U, HE sent U OPRAH.

@dellette007 by filipino standards, she is. filipinos in general are very colonial-minded--they think that white people or anyone with fairer skin than the average filipino is far better-looking than people of a darker skin color. trust me; i'm from the philippines and no one i know thinks she is beautiful in the least. one of my friends even thinks she looks like an imp. furthermore a lot of people here think she's overrated and average compared to other filipino singers.

I just happened to click on this singer b/c I saw the title w/God in the name so I was curious and I must say SHE HAS AN AMAZING VOICE! And then I heard her talking voice and it threw me off completely: so sweet and singing it's so powerful - WOW is all I could say. I have no idea what she's saying when she talks but I don't really mind, she has such a special aura about her ... she truly sings w/ her HEART. You go girl!

However, we should forgive her. she was a child then, she cant understand that there are winners and losers in this life. In addition to losing, she was ridiculed primarily about her looks. Maybe the hurt would have been lesser if the people had told her that she is not as good as the other two, but to lose because of her looks is simply stupid.

I really cried while she's singing that song. I really know what she felt at her lowest point because that's what I'm feeling at the moment. I totally gave up on joining contests because of the same reason that happened with her but because of her I feel like giving it a try again. I just have to ignore the negative comments and to be honest that comments are what keeping me away from my dreams, it's really hard to hear that you're not good enough straight to your face. I hope I can be brave.

I'm not pinoy, so I don't know who Boy is, but I thought from other posts I've seen that Boy was a doubter at one time. Is Boy a true Charice supporter, or is it just show biz?
He seems like a nice guy who really cares, but is that just the talk show host in him? Not trying to create a debate, but really want to know. It's difficult for me to follow the Phil entertainment scene and know who has been supportive and who hasn't because I don't read/speak Tagalog.

I can't help but to cry while watching this too! Wow! She stared down all those who ridiculed her (even the adults) and triumphed. But you would expect kids to be mean as they sometimes will. But when adults are demeaning and belittling kids, it's sending the wrong message. That is somebody's child you're talking about and harassing. I wonder how THEY would feel if it happened to THEIR child?

I don't know what those people were thinking but yes it must be out of envy . I have been following the videos of Charice for a while now and she was very good to start with and has just gotten better every time she opens her mouth to sing. I love her voice, and I think she is very pretty and has a beautiful smile! But as far as I am concerned though it is a moot point because I think Charice is more than pretty... she is lovely with a beautiful smile, gorgeous skin and a voice that doesn't quit!..She's going places for sure and I will be following her music avidly as will all the folks whose opinion matters to her! @franzken I've seen videos of Charice 's stint on LBS, and she's dancing in them. There's this video where she sang a French song, and another one i think the title was "i wanna be with somebody" i think. And she has got the moves, the rhythm, timing and everything. It was fun to watch her even then.

uhhh, this video is so emotional, i feel her pain when she lose that final round, on the you tube i cked that archives of LBS charice sang so well and got 3rd place and her forced little grin like smell so painful i can tell. she got the best voice in that round,but lost. the judges gave her a score of 91? and i wonder what the judges scored the 2nd and the 1st winner. & maybe char's fam &friends no money to buy loads for their cp to text votes for her.well GOD has purpose 4U, HE sent U OPRAH.

@dellette007 by filipino standards, she is. filipinos in general are very colonial-minded--they think that white people or anyone with fairer skin than the average filipino is far better-looking than people of a darker skin color. trust me; i'm from the philippines and no one i know thinks she is beautiful in the least. one of my friends even thinks she looks like an imp. furthermore a lot of people here think she's overrated and average compared to other filipino singers.

The looks of Regine and Sarah, are ordinary here in Germany, but the looks of Charice is exotic and rare. People here go to a solarium to get a brown skin. The Filipinos let their skin be bleached. They have no idea that some Caucasians envy them for their skin color and black hair. A lot of celebrities there in the Philippines get a nose lift and skin bleach.

I just happened to click on this singer b/c I saw the title w/God in the name so I was curious and I must say SHE HAS AN AMAZING VOICE! And then I heard her talking voice and it threw me off completely: so sweet and singing it's so powerful - WOW is all I could say. I have no idea what she's saying when she talks but I don't really mind, she has such a special aura about her ... she truly sings w/ her HEART. You go girl!

The people who know Charise, I think, most of the time know too that she is a Filipino. The most important is that is becoming known worldwide. And she is just begining. She is the first Filipino, living in the Philippines, not in the US, and from a humble origins who made it to the top worldwide. Lea Salonga was not poor and was in a private school.

Tears came into my eyes as she sang that beautiful song with tears streaming down her face. Charice is truly a good and beautiful person in her appearance and in her heart. God saw her suffering and heard and answered her prayer. She is destined for greatness. Charice, always remember to remain humble. As the bible says "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble". Boy gave very good advice.

Entertainment Industry in the Philippines base their judges on beauty by the color of their skin. It is ashame but that is the reality. I believe beauty comes from within and Charice is beautiful inside and out. Her negative experiences made her strong in the cruel world we live in. When she said after they prayed, stuff started to happen. I hope and pray she'll never forget where it all began, because the Lord heard her prayers. Praise be to God.

charice idol ka ng anak ko ngayon she is only 11 years old at nag start din syang kumanta since 2 years old til now dito kami sa New Jersey sumasali parin sya sa mga competition kahit mahirap binibigyan ko sya ng panahon para samahan sya kahit malayo dito sa lugar namin, kayong mag ina ang isa sa mga naging insperasyon namin para ipag patuloy ang hilig ng aking bunso sa musika...GOD BLESS U!!!

She wanted to win the contest mainly for the money because they needed it badly that time. However, we should forgive her. she was a child then, she cant understand that there are winners and losers in this life. In addition to losing, she was ridiculed primarily about her looks. Maybe the hurt would have been lesser if the people had told her that she is not as good as the other two, but to lose because of her looks is simply stupid.
