In my opinion, the battle was already won for you, PoM, since the departure of French formation on battlefield... Egyptian's passive mood helped you to show, how upgraded were the French in comparative and unequal way than your opponent. This battle should have never took place for Egypt.

in Azincourt ( or Agincourt however u prefer it ) the english longbowmen's pocket knives ( over 4000 of them ) won the battle for them, finding openings in french armour, ripping throats n armpits apart! Don't underestimate the pocker knife lol

The true advantage of Egypt lies in their mounted archers. Their infantry and cav don´t have a chance against the french army in this game. Luke lost because POM played correctly and because he (luke) didnt choose the right army.

Luke is pretty good, but I think the battle turned in your favor when the Royal Mamluks and your cav clashed. The Mamluks were destroyed at that point and because Egypt doesn't have the best infantry you rolled over Luke at that point. He still did good though.

Some of it a bit hazy though, but it's alright. I'd have to disagree that the Mamluks stopped the Mongol hordes. Noone could do that, I mean, at the same time they were fighting the Mongols, the Mongols were fighting the Polish, the Russians, the Chinese and the Japanese. So this is alot of war for Mongols. xD

What stopped the Mongols was time itself.

@TheRoopeKonna I did check again and Wikipedia isn't always reliable. they declared 2 ceasefires but only for a few short years. England dominated the war from 1337 to about 1420, this is because France had horrible leadership due to the many monarchies in France (Civil War etc.) France had a very powerful army but was never used correctly. Around 1429 when Joan of Arc appeared France got their shit together and under one monarchy and Generals such as Jean Boreau, Joan, Chased the english out.

I can't deny that Prince is a great tactician, but I wouldn't say thats the only thing thats going for him. His enemy in this video was pretty much an idiot. Not trying to take away from your glory Prince, but if I was playing vs the french I would have known that they would pick a lot of heavy inf and cav. I would have brought upgraded spearmen, and i would have used my cav to draw yours to the side where I could separate them with my spearmen from the rest of your army.

I know in reality France is a strong faction but when I played them in a historical battle when it was the holy Romans and Italians. I played the holy Romans and crushed their cavalry with my infantry. So French cavalry r weak against roman infantry. And btw gunmen r kinda useless in m2tw. Good game pom

I almost never play with islamic factions in this game, I've tried a few times but their armies just don't fit my style of battling.

They have a lacking in heavy troops.

I remember when I was playing with egypt and I was on a campaign against danmark.

I had to bring 1,5 to 2 times as many troops to the battlefield in order to match their army of huskarls and other heavy infantry

Your opponent made the mistake of retreating his cavalry after that first charge. If I were him I would just simply charge when you moved your crossbowmen up. In a straight horse fight the side that charges first always wins. But of course you could have just used the french voulgier pikemen instead of the dismounted knights and form a spear wall against the charge, then flank him on both sides with the french heavy cavalry of yours and smash into them.

Arsuf map is good to play on. I personally love to use France or the Timurids. reason being that they have excellent heavy cavalry and in the case of the Timurids elephants. I just use either full heavy cavalry and charge in waves or use elephant artillery. They are the most fun to use for pure slaughter. Line the elephants up in a row and you are pretty much winning everything. set them to Fire At Will mode and the slaughter gets better. :D

Try using Milan Crossbowmen or France Scott Guards in your front lines since they are both good missile troops and are as good as most infantry in melee fighting.

Artillary is only good in non-siege battles, when the enemy bunches his cavalry, who are normally the only worthy target.

I really like Medieval 2, exept that it kinda pisses me off how every battle ends up being a sort of huge blob of infantry just hacking each other. Formations and tactics just kinda go down the toilet at some point. Still a great game!

for online play, you need the CD key, i figured that out myself, i entered my Key in lower case..and i did not work for some reason, so i reintalled, and use upper case....bottom line...CD key..u need it for online
