Graham Greene was one of England's major post-war novelists. A converted Catholic, much of his work touched upon themes of morality, redemption and condemnation. 'Brighton Rock' is a tale of 1940s gangsters in the seaside town. A famous film of it was made, starring a young Richard Attenborough. Incidentally, Mozza changes the lyrics here to include recently-deceased American actor Tony Franciosa.
johnlennon, the lyrics are @underact - express depression, ah but bunnie a loved you...@ the inspiration for this song comes from the Graham Greenes "Brighton Rock" also references to Damian Morgan who claims to be the original "jammy stressford poet", and the line "Patric Doonan raised to waste" is in reference to the actor in "cockleshell heros" who commited suicide
I love that song .. it has these strange lirics .. and the same time filled with this sadness ... undercated expressed depression, but Bunny I loved You .. and there was this girl I used to like who I wanted to call Bunny so badly ..
