My dad played football there when the plane crash happend. He was one of the 13 players that did not get on the plane every day im Thankful he didnt and every year he struggles about his friends that died on that plane:(

My dad was attending Marshall University at this time. He had gone to MU on a football scholarship, playing in 1968 & 69. In the spring of 1970, he tried out for the baseball team...he made the team and received a partial scholarship...and quit the football team. He struggles every year, thinking about the brothers that he lost in that fatal flight.

Every year, I think about how our family might not exist...had he not "let his brothers down". This tribute is truly appreciated.

im going there to play football!!! i will take there team to a championship and get marshall on the right track. But we will never b as good as the ones that have died in that crash. Then 10 or 12 years later Randy moss Chad Penninington and David Garrard took Marshall to there first winning season and 3 championships. WE ARE MARSHALL WE ARE MARSHALL i will be chanting that in a few years!!!

ekherd im right there with you i was involved in it also although my HERD days were back in the 80`s my blood is green and always will be other than my family MARSHALL is my biggest passion in life the bond between this school and HUNTINGTON can be matched nowhere when we go on the road to such places like Clemson or any other bigger school and you see 16000 HERD fans its just amazing the other teams cant believe it either !

I know i lost my wife in a car accident of 2003 she was only 39..May they all rest in peace. I am a Buckeye fan but...You Are Marshall

hey im from huntington west virginia and i have grown up with marshall in my blood my friend is also from there and while im a die hard marshall fan shes not and she dosen't like marshall at all. im sad that she dosen't understand how much marshall is a family and how amazing it is there.

Great video. I was fortunate enough to be involved with the filming of this movie and also a graduate at the same time. Makes me proud to be an alum every time I see this movie. Makes me realize why I am still a huge fan of Marshall and MU is a huge reason why I still live in the Huntington area and always will. The school has grown so much over the last 10 years and it keeps growing. They filmed some of this movie in Huntington and on MUs campus. Especially a lot of the beginning scenes.GO HERD

I now own the movie We are Marshall. Tears came to my eyes after I saw it. I am an MU fan for life, but now part of my heart has a place for Marshall. In the loving memory of the tragic accident with the plane crash, Marshall has a reason to be who they are now. They are not the best team, but they have shown that they are the only team with faith compared to any team in the world. Good luck in up coming years Marshall. Do it for the 1970 players that are your angels on and off the field.

i feel sad for you Marshall but you have to move on it was the same thing with my hockey team 3 years ago when we was on ouer way to Stockholm (sweden) the buss crashed and 18 team m8ts died i was at hospital in 4 mounths so i know how you guys feel it is wery hard to lose team m8ts and wery good frends who you have knowed in over 10 years and sudenly when you wake up now1 is ther to support you any more

this movie was way sad..it was great but i was crying all through thre movie fav part tho was wen the wife of the guy who didnt get on the plane sees her husband in the driveway and is scared that it was a ghost it was touching wen he hugged her...lost all players but like 5 or 6 huh?

Thank you! I'm really sorry about your friend. It's tragic when people we know are taken from us. If there is someone there who has uploaded the movie in parts, I have no idea who. It would probably just be easier for you to go out and rent it. Or even buy it for $10 at Walmart. It's everywhere.
