@Lowryda24 Not entirely true. WoW is 7 years old and still runs on the same engine. The engine is causing lag, so they can't update the graphics without causing absurd amounts of lag. They could easily make a smacking hot game, and make more advanced graphics options like shaders etc. be optionel in the graphics settings. I can find no proff suggesting that SC2 was made to look better than other games, more than the graphics og SC2 is a result of the time it were created. Makes no sense imo.

@kevinlei92 I doubt the multiplayer element in D3 will be wast enough to do that, but we'll have to see. The monthly subscription fee for WoW makes it much more worth it to have players play that, than a newly developed game like D3, with one time payment. Blizzard won't let that happen for tactical reasons. I'm very interested to see what they would do, should D3 undermine the playerbasis of WoW.

@kevinlei92 D3 will not kill WoW. Wow is currently killing itself as blizzard is becoming increasingly lazy on creating new interesting content. Also they are unable to keep the game a challenge to experianced players.

With that said i gurantee D3 will do some devastating damage to WoWs playerbase for atleast a month or 2. I gurantee near the release of D3 they either release a new wow xpack or a major patch to try to keep a hold of subs. Besides if d3 beat wow blizz still has the market then.

@Frotty33 I agree. The reason his comp is laggy is because there is way too much foilage. He could lessen it by a lot. Sure it adds some kind of mystical WoW feel to it but it's not needed and can be lowered. It looks a hell of a lot better inside the cave because it fits just right with with nothing too much of.

i'm really impressed with how you did the sound stuff. do objects in SC2 GE have audio mechanics too? cause in one place there is a ball of lava that sounds EXACTLY like a torch with too much oxygen, AND the right distance-volume mechanic for speakers... unbelievably impressive; it honestly seems like you would have to use some other editor... i'm speechless :) how did you import the skins for the models?

@Juvator it says in the description that this wont be released. atm there are bugs with all wow models. weather or not they fix that particular issue im sure would be iffy to blizz. plus i doubt it could be done in a lag-free enviroment especially on bnet these days.

@skeetskeetskeet420 Shadowing or shading? Because shadows are less important for realism than shades. And shading in WoW looks more realistic than in SC2 in this mode/view. Don't know how they do it in WoW, though, via lighting/shaders or just plain texturing.

It looks better then WoW... if they actually made a World Of Warcraft 2 instead of endlessly putting out expansions, the game would look a million times better then WoW does. Even on the highest settings WoW is lacking, it was made in 2004 originally so it can't really hold up...

@skeetskeetskeet420 Competing and how old a game is has nothing to do with proper shading and lighting. It's a basic principle of realism in art, as well as photography. You can have a gazillion of polygons, you can have photographic textures in 1mx1m resolution, you can even have the perfect lighting, but if you don't do proper shading, everything's gonna look flat and dull.
