yea but in the cell phone world, announcing something as "...about 6 months" is almost certainly never 6 months. Depending on the response of the palm, I honestly can't see it going to another carrier until maybe a year after the release. Sure, the exclusivity date runs out in 6 months, but the market is so fast paced that there could be 5 new palm competitors by then.

The truth is - none of them has it all. I'd like a smartphone phone with : big-ass 800x400 hi-resolution sensitive multitouch screen, keyboard, 5mpix cam with flash and autofocus, wi-fi, 3G, 2 sim cards, gyroscope technology, exchangable battery, fm radio, shitload of rom, a fast OS with multitasking and sync with outlook, gmail, push email etc... and it needs to be pretty :) Now, is there one with all this ?!?

no, this has better CPU and application processors. It's CPU is ARM cortex-a8 600MHz, and has a GPU which is faster than the iPhone's.

There has been better phones and more capable phones than iphones before the iphones came out. All iphone is, eyecandy. Apple has the best marketing team out there. Thats you love iphone. Storm IS a better phone then iphone, N97 IS better than anything available out there, this palm is a veyr nice phone as well. So is the HTCs G1. iphone is nothing special anymore, as it wasn't to begin with.

Windows mobile phones are all the same pretty much. And, yes the Pre has a much better OS. It's much more fluid and will blow away the Iphone, also the keyboard is another reason it's better.

That depends on how you look at it. The hardware in all those phones are way better than the iPhone. But the iPhone's GUI and software are still best out there. When it all comes down, people tend to prefer a user-friendly phone instead of a powerful one.

NO, iPhone did not start that at all. HTCs and Palms already had touchscreens for many years. With a pen, yep, but you could actually use them without a pen.

Apple's revolution is more about improving the user-interface to the extreme, but not about inventing it: applications, touchscreen, etc. It had already been there for years, years and years...

Palm Pre is coming to Sprint first-its on thier website.

it has Microsoft office (word, excel,powerpoint,outlook)comes with 8gb internal and an expansion slot for microSD cards/Wireless sync/Wireless charging.

Webkit, full web browsing,has an accelerometer(to flip from portrait to landscape)

You can run multiple webpages at once, sync everything from email to cell, to facebook, to gmail, all in once spot.

3g and wifi

That is only about 1/3 of the stuff Palm has announced for this device.

This phone is much more than just a copy...it brings a whole new level of functionality to the table...multitasking...synergy across multiple contacts/calendars etc. Don't make the mistake of just a superficial look...there is a lot of depth beyond the UI that iPhone currently does not offer.

Yes, multi tasking is not that unique at all. Most phones have this. On my Nokia I sometimes even get annoyed because of applications not automatically shutting down when I go to another application.
