dude, i can't really tell, but it looks like your picking the strings down all the time. play the a string or whatever on the upstroke instead - it'll be less of an effort to play and you can play faster if need be.

I do upstroke and downstroke. Its just some riffs sounds better (in my opinion) with a monostroke.

a little more work on muting will give that distinguished sound that you are missing....the upstroke and downstroke sometimes overlaps...and thus to distinguish the two, a little work on muting part will help

The pagan/viking scale. :). Nah i m one of those people who writes song based on what sounds good. So no clue. It has a minor tonality, so something in line of that.

The only thing I disliked was in the beginning of the main riff it sounds like a direct rip off of Amon Amarth. I realize it's a viking metal riff but change it up just a little and make it yours.

Yah someone else made that comment too, when i was playing this at guitar center. I think i should just make a totally new intro. Like it doesnt sound like any of amon amarth's stuff to me, but since a lot of ppl say it does sounds like amon amarth, i wanna change it totally, just for the sake of being original i guess. Its the ultimate guitar for shredding in a nice budget. As far as recommending goes there are so many guitars out there, i really dont know. I would suggest increasing your budet and getting a DKMG rather than DXMG simply because it has a better playability. Cheers
