I prefer this one! This year's one isn't very good. And it reminds me of the time our class went to watch the NDP show and it was raining heavily. You could call it a storm. However, it did not dampen our spiris in the least. The performers continued performing and we continued cheering and clapping.

One male. One female. 2 versions sung in different key. Two different interpretation of the song. One softer and soothing. One more chirpy. Both well sung. Music arrangement is different but both ok. Hady is a good singer but somehow this song he didnt sing so well. My opinion: Joi chua version is better. Her production is clearer. but both singers did well la though the melody is so-so. the vid, i believe conveys the message of shining within oneself and then progress on to shine for singapore. the chinese version is a little faster than the english version. both are hard to sing. hady's low tone in beginning & a stretch at the end, and joi's high pitch can be quite a struggle to match. but let's all sing both versions according to our own capability. soak in the spirit and not worry about our vocal ability.
