Its good that Goldings was playing keys and not Jarrett who would have halted your taping by jumping offstage & kicking your ass! That aside, I thought these guys were lukewarm. I saw them do 2 shows and they had little of the free manic energy & spirit that Lifetime had. I've seen Goldings play much more like Young on other gigs. I thought WTF? Is he trying NOT to sound like Larry Young when he needs to most? Still, they were okay. But I wouldn't buy the live recordings of what I saw.
you dick. the point is not always to sound like someone else, but to play the way you want to play. you missed the point in making music you cloth eared tit. go and watch liberachi you bummer.
i'd recommend that you check out the "trio beyond" album on ECM called "saudades." it's live, and totally rocks; nothing "lukewarm" about it. check out "seven steps to heaven" on disc 2 in particular, which is just burning.
man, i can't get enough of that rendition of "seven steps to heaven!" the groove jack goes into at the end after the drum solo is out of control deep. one of my favorite albums featuring scofield (and i've heard most of them).
It's nice to see a master drummer that isn't trying to prove his chops and is just playing something musical. I have to find more video on Trio Byond, I was lucky enough to see them at UCLA here in Los Angeles last summer and they were INCREDIBLE.
great!!

That is something constructive criticism. Please try yourselves. Clothe a decent Leslie, wax
your unwaxed ears. You`ll feel the difference.
