good card. but 512mb isnt nearly eough to run the newer game max settigs.. eed 1GB+. i got ATI raedo HD 4890 1gb. performs well and i noticed a difference. i used to use 4870 512mb card which is pretty much the same but that added ram really does make a differece

my cousin has an 8800GT and says he can run it fine max settings no problem and the 9800gt is a better card. it may be your processor that needs looking at. With a bad processor using an amazing graphics card wont mean you get amazing graphics

The 9800GT is a good MEDIUM LEVEL card. That's it, you'll be able to run any new game to be released during the next year, at least.

BUT, (and it is a big BUT), don't expect to run ANY of them at max settings.

Your CPU is more than enough for that vid card, no bottle necks.

Chech your mother board specs, if it's capable of SLI config, you can add a second 9800GT in 3 or 4 monts, when it will be real inexpensive.

most decent cards can run the latest games but try running them at max with all shaders and effects at high res (1280x1024+) if you havent got a high end card it just wont cut it ..(im still waiting for my pc upgrades to arrive) i currently have sngl core celeron D 3.6ghz 1gb ram ati x1550 512mb and can play fallout 3 on med settings @ 1024x768 but even then the framerate is just about playable

Its not the program thats the problem, you need to go into the volume mixer an make sure "stereo mix" is there, or whatever its called for you :)

bullshit, i have a pentium 4 3.0ghz, nvidia geforce 9500gt 1024mb, 2 gig ram, windows xp and if i run the game at full resolution and shoot, it lags, i put my settings at 800x600 w/ aa 4x, and all graphics on high except textures at automatic as well as anisotropic filtering on low.

its the best ive seen so far. if you use auto capture it only kills about 5% of your performance. Uses the least amount of resources than any recording program that ive found. The free version lets you record for how ever long you want but with no sound.. i went ahead and purchased it. you have to have the correct sound drivers if you use vista.

on my 3870 i and ran 1440 res on my 22inch, no AA no AF, with 200 fps inside buildings and 60 to 150 outside.. flawless.. your power supply might be a little weak for the system.. if you have 4 ram sticks that consumes a lot of power, plus vid card.. and how ever many HDDs you have.. a min of 500 should suffice..

I work in the computer recycling industry and should be able to get one of those for free. I always thought that if the power was insufficient, it would just crash. Wierd. I do have four memory modules, two HDDs, and a 22inch Acer 2216WBD. I will certainly post here if that works. What CPU was used with the 3870? My CPU seems to handle almost everything I throw at it but it's like 3 years old :(. (I know that gaming depends more on the GPU).

im not sure of the exact number, but you need to have a +12v of at least 25amps or better im sure. amps = watts, they just need to be in the right place, its on a sticker on the side of the power supply... also, try not overclocking your memory on your vid card..

I have it overclocked from 1151mhz to 1357MHZ. It's been like that for about two months with no difficulty. However, I have noticed that some games (C&C3 and Crysis) run smoother when it's not overclocked. Other games run better with the OC (COD4-Fuel of War). By the way, when I got my card, I was mixed on which card to buy, the BFG 9800GTX, or the one I ended up getting. I figured this one was a deal better cuz the OC potential. Right/Wrong?
