  • slooks like a modified g36, even the mags are the same arnt they

  • @DefilerhXc It's essentially a G36 with different externals.

    Good catch on the mags.

  • tsk tsk tsk stolen video

  • you cannot beat the german at making guns.

  • @hasnachos as a proud American, I agree. We do make great guns but however, Germans are excellent and proficient in bringing innovative weaponry. Wait till you see an H&K carbine/assault rifle like this but configured to shoot 6.5mm or even 6.8x43mm SPC ammo.

I would choose nothing, but H&K. Other gun manufacturers had at least 2-3 guns I like. H&K, a shitload of them I endorse.

  • lucky bastard i want one

  • Whoa it didn't melt :O

  • oh my god... i will admit it. this is probably the dumbest question i can ever ask, but is a real XM8?

  • I remember hearing bout this gun back when it meant something and telling myself how I knew it would fail, its got problems that go beyond budget and its overheating

  • I've heard they cancelled it because of overheating problems. Is this true?

  • @MEATHOOK80 it actually got cancelled because of it went over budget and it wasnt american, it did have overheating problems but they were short-lived

  • I still can't believe they canceled this gun.

  • this weapon is a way better than the old american standarts ..

  • that is a sexy weapon

  • that is one satisfied man!

  • idk why the usa didn't just get some forgein rifles like the hkm416 the g36c or aug? it'd be cheaper and they are great weapons

  • @TheAlexagius Because some of our congressman bitched and moaned that we weren't "buying American".

  • @gunslinger2142

doesn't stop them for sending jobs overseas

  • @SlingSalsa preaching to the choir buddy

  • @gunslinger2142 But they're cool with adopting the M416 by H&K

  • @muzikscud23 true but that switch wont happen for a good while . What with all the surplus M-16's and M-4's that leaves

  • @muzikscud23 ahem...H&K 416

  • @LilATL94 How silly of me =]

  • @gunslinger2142 The beretta M9 in not american, beretta's are from Italy. Not a fan myself, 1911 all the way

  • @icbmmirv I agree. Though M9s are considerably cheaper to mass produce than say an G36c or XM8. So the revenue we would bring in would be somewhat miniscule. Also, I believe that the Marines are in the process of removing their M9s from service, though I may be wrong.

  • @gunslinger2142 Yeah I heard something about that, don't know what they 're going to though

  • @icbmmirv

but its produce in america i think

  • @kolinmartz Your right about that. As far as I am aware, that was part of the deal. The firearm had to be made in the USA, if not Beretta would have lost the contract.

  • @gunslinger2142 More like bitching about it melting in the hands of soldiers.

  • @gunslinger2142 just because it was very good in COD that does not mean it has any bearing on real life.

  • @badgerattoadhall 1. Its not in COD.

    2. I hate that game franchise.

    3. What the hell are you even saying?

  • @gunslinger2142 You were saying why we didn’t buy the xm-8. And I said you learned about the weapons from cod (or BF).

  • @badgerattoadhall No, I did not learn about it from CoD or BF. And I was only explaining to the guy who asked why we didnt buy them, even though I personally am not too big a fan of the XM8. Don't know why you took offense.

  • @gunslinger2142 the US does not really buy american anymore look at the m777. howerver there was no reason to buy the xm8 and a lot of reasons not too

  • @badgerattoadhall Yea no crap we dont buy American, theres too many advantages of overseas trade. Plus, youre right there was no reason to buy it. Also, we didnt buy it because our congressman wanted to keep the M4 contract with Colt alive as long as possible.

  • @gunslinger2142 It did not accept any of the accessories of the ar-15 family, it over heated badly, did not show significant improvement over the m4/m16. As for not buying American, I meant military contracts. The 2 big purchases were the Stryker (swiss/Canadian) and the m777 (UK). These are probably built under licens in the US.

  • @badgerattoadhall Yeah I know all this already, I didn't ask for a run down. And if you read my comment i pointed out the military contracts.

  • @gunslinger2142 now you are talking in circles

  • @badgerattoadhall Not really you are literally repeating everything i am saying.

  • @TheAlexagius Cheaper than $400?

  • @AdmiralGST the XM8 would cost more than $400 if the m16 costs $500

  • @TheAlexagius The military is buying M16s andM4s for around $400.

  • @AdmiralGST when i siad cheaper i ment cheaper than the XM8 program and its adoption(if it ever were)

  • @AdmiralGST Bullshit.

No way the military is buying quality AR rifles at $400.

    Where's your proof man?

  • @MikeW259 What service men have told me that work with supply. They are Mil Spec rifles, they aren't the best quality, they just work. Are you gonna say bullshit about PD buying Glocks for less than $300?

  • @AdmiralGST I can believe PD glocks(Mainly because glocks are the bane of my existence...ill take my S&W TYVM.)

I just don't see how the military only spends $300 per rifle...Yet...They are looking for a replacement for the AR-15 system. If you're giving me the right numbers...I dont see why the military wouldnt just drop an upper kit, made in the usa, capable of 2 or more calibers of ammo, and increased reliability(BARRETT REC7 Uppers...COUGH COUGH).

    Support my local economy. haha

  • @MikeW259 The number is $400. It doesn't cost alot to build a M16 anyway so FN colt, and who ever else builds the rifles sells them for that much to have the contract. To get a new upper and to recall the parts and ammo to issue new ammo would cost too much and wouldn't be really worth it. 5.56 at 100 yards has as much power as a .44 magnum at point blank. Yes the Army is looking for a new service rifle but what we have now is good enough.

  • @AdmiralGST but the m16 is getting pretty long in the tooth isnt time for maybe a bullpup or something other than the m14 m4 platform

  • @50TNCSA We seem to be doing fine with our long guns. Same with the Russians.

  • @AdmiralGST Actually 44 mags have a standard wound channel larger than a 5.56s, at 100 yards, the 5.56 beats the 44, but at 7 yards, the 44 has a larger wound. Source: I worked in an ER for awhile and am obsessed with the Brassfetcher website.

  • @MikeW259 they actually buy them (when the colt contract was still in a couple years ago) $2051!!! we got ripped off

  • i wish the us adopted this gun becasue it looks so badass and futerey

  • too many mailfunctions, too expensive, prone to jam.

    i prefer the hk 416!

  • CONGRATULATIONS, YOUTUBE!

You managed to have people thumbing up codfags mocking their own favourite game to be accepted on the internet and comments about a game that is not any better than CoD in terms of realism.

  • That recoil, coupled with the price, is why the XM8 didn't and never will, be the primary weapon of use for an armed forces. For example, USA = M4/M16 (Low recoil, low price), UK = SA80 (Low recoil, low price).

  • @nikebauer1993 m4's costed more than the xm8 (under colt)

  • How come it was canceled?

  • @AtOthenewbkillah bureaucracy.

  • I love this gun in BC2 but sound Much better in this vid, as in BC2 (FAIL)

  • @PlasticCyberNaut

gunfire is very hard to emulate for a video game, it's just that loud, i've fired real 5.56 caliber weapons, they sound completely different then both video games, and youtube videos, capturing the sound of supersonic round is almost impossible, it's just that loud.

anyways, yea, i never had a chance to use a xm8 platform, but i would sure love to run it thouhg the ring once or twice...not quite that sure about all that polymer through, great vid.

  • Love that little smile on your face when you went full auto.

  • Worlds Biggest Piece of shit :3

  • @LanOsb133 Ha good one

  • This gun is gay. The Mini 14 is far superior. Get over it

  • @EliteAmericans haha i think you have the gay mini 14 and cry that you cant buy an xm8 dont cry get over it

  • @EliteAmericans mini 14 is known to over heat and become very inaccurate ...ruger kinda of went half ass when they made that rifle...

  • @HamTheDog no, the old mini's had thin barrels that started to bend a lot due to the heat of shooting several magazines. These new ones are more accurate, more reliable than any ak-47 platform rifle available. They pretty much make the ak47 obsolete.

  • @EliteAmericans it not gay but the mini 14 is a great gun

  • what cal. is it?

  • @levaslevas 5.56x46 NATO or Remington .223

  • Can these gamers stfu?

Really, have they shot a firearm before? No?

Games are fun but seriously research it or learn it from the ground up. Not from videogames. Damn...

    *Facepalm*

  • @LilATL94 I have

  • @LilATL94

you say gamers should shut up, and what do i see on your channel? a TOM CLANCY VID!

  • @19DaRiO95 Read my comment again and understand before saying it.

Plus, I haven't uploaded shit on my channel in ages.

  • @LilATL94 its aggravating as shit.

  • If it was my life, I wouldn't trust it to a gun that has trouble putting a round through the chamber. I would be hesitant to take a gun that will melt at 1,000 round, I confess, but then again, I don't normally need that many.

  • @JACC180 im sure the engineers at HK have considered that problem. im sure that the plastic used in the gun has quite a high melting point and the cooling is more than sufficient. overall, im sure that the XM8 has proven itself better in almost every respect compared to the AR15 based rifles like the M4/M16.

from what I heard, the reason the army had to cancel the program was that only HK was part of the program, and it was pretty one-sided.

  • @Elc22 I've heard various reasons, but personally I think its just because our senior brass in the military have trouble with the idea of our people on the front lines using a rifle that isn't American made. There are plenty of designs out there that are far better but they just wont make the change...

  • @VadnaisCC ive had a friend thats shot an XM8 before, says its a good rifle, though the main thing he hates about it that really kills it is the fact that it does not come standard with at least rails for optics and under-barrel accessories.

many other armies are using AR18 based rifles (G36/L85)... which have proven themselves to be superior to the old M4/M16 that we are still using... an XM8 is just a custom version of the G36, its already a good gun, just needs some tweaks.

  • @Elc22 Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. I know just a few years before I got out of the Corps they were upgrading all the rifles to M16A4's from the old A2's. They could've easily spent that money on better rifles but for some strange reason they're always finding an excuse not to.

  • @VadnaisCC yea man, i hear you, I hear theres a good amount of corruption in the military higher ups, especially those who decide on the equipment. for example, the whole dragonskin fiasco that happened a couple years back... i have respect for those in the army who go out and fight for the country, I however, have very little respect for most of the senior brass. respect is earned, rank means nothing to me.

the guys and girls out in the field deserve the best since its their asses on the line

  • It is also more than just a clone of the G36, while it is a DERIVATIVE, it is an entirely different system altogether. While it didn't meet it's own targte in weight it was still lighter than fielded M4's operators who tested the XM8, had almost always preffered it to the M4's. The ability to transform into a marksman rifle, and support gun, as well as a compact carbine would prove invaluable, and the ammount of rounds you could put through it without requiring cleaning, is ridiculous.

  • Actually it more than proves it was superior to the AR15, in a dust test the XM8 Carbine managed over 600 less stopages than the M6, and M16 Rifles, coming in at mid 100's, while the M4/M16 came in at over 800. The modularity of the XM8 is also astonishing, the impractical roles being the Support rifle, as too much firing would result in the plastics melting, a problem that, with excess funding would've been solved.

  • do you think they might bring this one back in the future?

  • @lobzdik hell no, its basically a clone of the HK g36, with a different exterior. Not to mention it failed to prove that it was better then the AR15, and for the money, just adds to the waste

  • ITs too bad the XM8 program ran way over budget.

  • @firestorm1579 no its not, its too bad it got consideration in the first place, in no way was it proven to be an improvement over the AR15 series

  • @Alexn1067 who said it was an improvement over the Ar15 series?I said it was sad it yet WAY over budget.

  • @Alexn1067 nothing will be a great improvement to the AR15 in your eyes and many other people's eyes.

Also..... it COULDN'T be PROVEN due to NO FUNDS for a LIMITED FIELD TEST.

  • @MAJORSTEVEN dude, its the same action and design as the HK g36 (g36 has been around since the mid 90's)

  • @firestorm1579 Its just G36 in a different piece of plastic.

  • @firestorm1579 they had the tightest margin to work in! If you wanna build a sick assault rifle, one must have dolla' dolla' bills

  • @firestorm1579 classic german problem wasting too much money on 1 weapon since 1939

  • Half of these views are from battlefield players and combat arms noobs.

  • Too bad it was just a prototpe and never made it out of the lab.

  • @FreshBakedKicks sucks your mother

  • The reasons that prevented the XM8 from being adopted are valid ones(economy, training and injecting a new weapon and its parts resupply into a war time logistics system). I hope that the rifle will eventually be adopted in all its modular glory. After they kakked Osama, anything can happen! In the meantime, I hope the US will follow the UK's lead and let HK fix our rifles' internal problems. Converting them to the 416's piston driven system would be much cheaper and easier to teach.

  • @reddyeddy69 It's being considered but the US military is also considering changing the whole rifle system all together. They're 3 rifles being tested as we speak.

  • @reddyeddy69 agreed, H&K can make a hell of a gun

  • @reddyeddy69

At first glance you may think they are valid reasons but they are not and that isn't the main reasons why it was canceled. indecisiveness in the army and politics/bureaucracies is how this got canceled.

  • @reddyeddy69

2nd part of my response to reddyeddy69

Converting and temporary fielding two,three,etc.. weapons in a war is not a problem.. its just a excuse.. we CAN do it but there is no will to do so. The cost of it would be short term and insignificant compared to all the money in the development of the the newest high tech vehicles. In the long term this weapon would save alot of money and it would be a slightly but significantly better weapon for soldiers.

  • @reddyeddy69

3rd part of my response to reddyeddy69

People are reluctant to change dramatically and they always say the current thing does the job fine.... and we don't need it. You can look at history. The people with the m1s didn't want the m14s and they didn't want the black rifle. Unfortunately change for advancement didn't win this time yet...

  • This is the best looking gun EVER!!!

  • @xiImperviouS um actually the m16 has a much worse history with being unreliable. i can find countless stories of marines, army and various other branches of the military having problems with m16s that jammed. in fact, they made an upper reciever with a forward assist specially to help with jams.

  • @VERSACEmurcielago my M16 jammed while i was at the firing range. it is an unreliable piece of junk (USMC 2010)

  • @3doghowl was that during basic training? because the weapons issued in basic have seen better days. im not saying that all m16s are horrible, because ar-15s are a fine weapon, they just have some issues with jamming but that aint entirely the weapons fault. Jamming can be caused by shitty mags, and a shit brand of ammo.. etc

  • @3doghowl a2?

  • Fuckin epic! I love this gun, too bad it failed military testing... It was too heavy, the handle melted after firing a certain amount of rounds and the built-in red dot sight's battery didnt last long enough.. :(

  • @Viperspider1

LOL just fail what you said

  • @MultiTobaK Do you mean what happened or how i said it?

  • @Viperspider1

    What happened

  • O_o FN SCAR ??? similar

  • I'm pretty sure it's just the M8 now; it's out of experimental stages.

  • why so sideways.

  • both options are from HK ...please dont correct me...

  • Battlefield Bad Company 2 :)

  • @MarkPolemicosEstudio damn you suck so hard

  • @BulgarianShadow Fuck off .

  • @MarkPolemicosEstudio nice going there you goon ... u just reinforced every single negative bf fanboy stereotype ... especially the one where you fucking kids come to gun videos and talk about video games ... again nice going there dork ...

  • @BulgarianShadow Go to hell

  • @MarkPolemicosEstudio that was almost as dumb as u ...

  • @MarkPolemicosEstudio (sigh) yet another nerd posting a comment about his gay little video games..

  • @MarkPolemicosEstudio You're a faggot

  • @GodKiller97 suck my balls bicth

  • @MarkPolemicosEstudio I'm sure you'd love a man to suck your balls. Sadly, I'm not gay

  • @GodKiller97 You are a woman .

  • @MarkPolemicosEstudio and the XM8 is in Crysis the Scar ^^

  • @MarkPolemicosEstudio Modern Warfare 2 :)

  • @MarkPolemicosEstudio that was Prototype :P

  • @MarkPolemicosEstudio Battlefield Bad Company original :)

  • If this gun was in the US army would it be built here or germany

  • @TwinklesPussMaster61 it would either be built by a US military contractor (which reduces the quality) or made by HK but in US factories for security reasons ie they dont want sabotaged weapons shipments and they want a self sustained arms supply.

  • @jimmyhoffa9 as far as i could tell, its essentially a rebuilt g36, with some fancy exterior, but then im not an expert nor claim to be.

  • this might be what replaces that peace of shit m16..^^

  • @HATERED0001 Considering how this project was ditched years ago, and that another gun borrowing the design was produced by H&K, you are wrong.

P.S. It's "piece", not "peace" of shit.

  • @HATERED0001 It's "piece". Also, the M16 isn't in front line service with the US Army anymore, the M4 is. Small difference though. The M16/M4 rifles don't melt when you fire them. They're actually compatible with all the accessories in the US inventory (red dot sights, rifle scopes, visible and IR lasers, flash lights, fore grips, grenade launchers) and they don't have a ridiculous reciprocating charging handle. No modern rifle should have one, HK and FN need to figure that out.

  • fat guy with a gun

  • i really cant see why they say this gun looks like a fish.

  • you stole this video from ARMI E TIRO you fag

  • Comment removed

  • thats not a german gun, thats american dude... still fuckin bad ass gun thro

  • @thisguy1488 wrong.it was designed by germany and america. The U.S Army worked with H&K to make a gun to replace the m4 and underwent testing but was never adopted

  • The American G36 derivative which never worked properly. :D

  • @xiImperviouS The F2000 jams? Tell me the source of where you heard that information so I can tell them to shut the fuck up. Just because it has a forward ejection doesn't mean it gets clogged up.

  • The reason this isn't our standard issue weapon is because since made almost entirely out of plastic it kept melting after like 500 or 600 rounds. The HK M416 is supposed to be our standard issue weapon with a 6.8 mm round but apparently our troops are still using the M4 and M16 so I don't know what the deal is right now.

  • @1SH0T2K1LLS

only early prototypes of the XM8 had that problem

the reason it didn't made it was the small arms lobby's bickering

what you call "HK M416" is actually called HK416 and chambers 5.56

and it's not going to happen..

however from what i hear they're replacing the m249 with an HK416 variant in the marine corps

  • @1SH0T2K1LLS they accepted the scar in small numbers. both the 7.62 and 5.56 mm variants into socom. and the melting was fixed. it wasnt compatible with previous inventory with attachements, couldnt use the m203, cost, and time required to outfit and re train an entire army with a new weapon. essentially, its a g36 in new furniture. dont know what the fuck the us were thinking.

  • ROFL when he switched to 3 round burst and bent his knees like it actually helped him stay stable that gave him arthritis

  • @WeHeartGoodMusic ROFL faggot there is no 3 round burst, he is just shooting it like that.

  • @Whitekid762 Um, it has a 3 round burst...look at the fire selector when he's firing it on single, then 3 rounds, then automatic.

  • @Clonetrooper111 The selector level only moves from semi to full auto.. He is shooting in controlled bursts like how you're supposed to.

  • i wish they would of taken this gun as our primary it can even be changed into an lmg and ive seen them add a sniping barrel to it. m16 and m4 aren't futuristic lets see here... the Islamics have the p90 Belgium has the fs2000 wheres our sexy futuristic gun?

  • @MadMedicSkills that just made my day! lol

  • @MadMedicSkills goddamn, you don't know anything about guns. "sniping barrel?" Lol, shut the fuck up.

  • @Whitekid762 no mna he means longer barrel, when used for sniping, for real longer barrel better acuracy and possibly power

  • @BallerSkier I know what he means. And a longer barrel doesn't give increased accuracy, but it does give the bullet more velocity which would mean more power and the bullet will travel a longer distance.

  • @Whitekid762 well yeh but more power equal more accuracy, think about ti what if the barrel was only 3 inches like pistol barrels are??

  • @BallerSkier It isn't more power equals more accuracy. If the bullet has more velocity you could say that it will be more accurate at longer ranges since the bullet can travel farther.

  • @Whitekid762 he does have a point however

a longer barrel does indeed result in more accuracy.. there's a limit of course

  • @Whitekid762 on and there also happens to be a sharpshooter variant of the XM-8 with a 20" barrel

    military.c om/NewContent/0,13190,Gear_051104_XM8,00.html

  • @SpartanMDC

how? sorry if i'm annoying you:)

  • I WANT IT.

  • custom g36 ....

  • @pleasenomore100. thats a myth. no one has proven that the gun melts under heavy fire...

  • doesnt the xm8 have an iron sight? only reflex?

  • @19DaRiO95 it has flip up iron sight

  • @Wolfblade369 he ran out of ammo...idk ask him

  • just my own prefrence, but I really don't like the look of these "Futureistic/Modern" guns, I prefer the "oldies" such a leaver action .45's and my personal fav the M1 garand

  • @TheIrishCanuck: I agree with you. I love the look of AK-47 / wz. 96 Beryl / M16 etc. Only G36E and HK416 are exceptions, becouse the're new guns, but they look cool. :D

  • @NatejGA ouu the AK is a beautiful weapon but I've seen a few modles that look kinda wierd

  • pretty slick

  • 3 pursıt mode ::)

  • I would arm a army with those , to bad it overheats to much :(

  • some one told me that the only reason the U.S. does not use this firearm in the military right now is that it would cost to much.

if some one responds to this it would be very helpful.

  • @wally52212

the gun was actually not used by the army because the gun overheats too much

  • @pokefreak12345 So it will just remain on the self as "experimental" self? Also isn't the army trying to use the SCAR now?

  • 0:29 FAIL
