  • @madridguy1997 you must take into consideration that designing a game is a long process, especially three dimensional ones, this game shows a great example of this persons ability to code and create great game physics as well as level design not to mention that he made collision possible. In other words this has the potential to be a good game.

    Its a respectable API. And it not like what you might think it is. Its not a FPS Creator or Game Maker tool. Its an API for C#. A set of tools for game development.

    Games a built from the ground up, peice of peice, line by line, by the developer. Every calculation, every perameter, every detail is created by the developer.

    Nothing is provided for you.

    To make a game requires knowledge and skill in programming, not clicking buttons in an editor.

    I agree, If you are using XNA, you're more than likely using the 3D engine they provide for you. Maybe you meant something different?

  • Looks like he followed a tutorial and changed a few things. It's obvious, because anyone good enough at 3D modelling the world and the character, with animation and textures, would be good enough at getting the walking to look right. Please, take the "My" out of the video title.

  • How long have you taken to complete this? Being a beginner for using Microsoft XNA Game Studio 3.0 , does this real be a hard work? How long will I take to achieve it or just a presentable one?

  • Not that long. I swear it's easy if you can make your own models and you follow the right tutorials.

  • Well I have to disagree with you. If you know a ton about 3D equations, C#, and the XNA API then it is easy but for a beginner making a 2D game is difficult let alone a 3D game.

    But once you can get to the point where you can easily make 3D games then you are on the fast train to success in game design.

  • I agree with you, once i just started I followed some tutorials and got a working game, but i had no clue on what was actualy going on.

    Right now, about 1.5 months later, im a 14 devolping my own 2D game engine without anything like directX or XNA, and i'm working on a real-time ray tracer too, but i doubt wether I could actualy ever get that rendering in real-time.

    Once you get the point on how it all works it's damn easy, but before that it's hard as hell.

    i know its about the collision, but make a chase cam, then the people cant say its the backround moving around the player anymore

    (to make a chase cam just lerp between the old camera position and where it should be)

  • pretty cool but in my opinion i think there is 2 things wrong with it:

    1) your motion isint the best it needs a bit more work

    2) you can clearly see the backround moves not the player i use this technique for making games it is so effective but try make it not so obviuse and your game will be almost perfect

  • Once I read this comment, I could drastically notice how the background was moving behind the model. You need to slow the background down to make it more realistic.

    Otherwise, this is pretty nice. I could see you being able to make a nice 3D RPG out of this!
