pay attention to the rpms in this vid n when he shifts n then look at the vid of his speedometer n when he shifts into third!! they r off by 20 or so mph!!!! nice car, but if u pay attention you can easily see this!!!!

Why would i want to slam through the gears as fast as possible when i am tuning? I am not reving past 7500 rpms, the motor was built to handle 9k. The lag time is because im not slamming gears. Breaking transmissions is not fun. The transmission is a stock tranny with 140k than has seem 75 ish 12 sec passes and probably 20ish 11 sec passes in a 450hp on 93 car. So dont tell me how to take drive/care for my car

@theungrateful34 actually since i posted the comment i have converted my eclipse to 4wd put on The TDO5-16G turbocharger gotten recycle valves bored out the engine to a 2.5l 4cyl and had it tuned on a dyno to 25 psi, still less lag time than you beater car

I personally have a built 6-bolt, but I'm happy to hear that the 7-bolts have had that issue resolved. The 7-bolt in my car walked shortly before I got the car so another motor was required.
For everyones info.......Brend Rau's 1400Hp motor is a 7 BOLT!!! What makes a 7 bolt stronger that a 6 bolt after the thrust bearing issue is addressed is that it come stock from the factory with a billet main griddle for those that have never noticed, LoL!!!
I have one of each block in my garage and there's more differences than that. The 6 bolt doesn't have stiffening ridges on the block itself 7 bolt has a lot of them. 98-99 and some 97 use a thrust washer, I don't know if it's any better. I have a 97 gsx with a 7 bolt and a thrust bearing type, and an extra 97 block with thrust washer type. who knows why the same year comes 2 different ways.
Drwal2... 7 Bolts is how many bolts are attaching The crank shaft 7 Bolts Crank Walk alot so pretty much if you have a 7 bolt your motor will blow if you drive it hard 6 bolt is the way to go
The 7bolt is prone to crankwalk....the internals...rods...rod bolts....rod and main bearings and thrust bearint are weak. Not as beafy as the 6bolt. And the 6bolt is better balanced...the only upside to the 7bolt is faster revs, they spin a little free-er.
There are good builders out there with the proper tools that can fix the 7 bolts which makes them superior to the 6 bolt but unless you have the money the 6 bolt is the easy way to go.
nothing that machining cant fix from what I understand. I can't find the site with they guys that do the 7 bolt build up but the whole deal is they made the 7 bolts stronger to replace the 6 bolt but the issues with the main bearings is what made them less reliable.
There are high HP 6 bolts but even so there apparently are common stress fractures in a 6 bolt crank that the 7 bolt doesn't get even at 500 HP unbuilt. Once the 7 bolt chance crankwalk issues are addressed it is just as good if not better then a 6 bolt.
@Darksurfr man i have been around the 4g63 for many years....and i have never ever had any issues with the 6-bolt......and do have a 700hp 91 gsx in the garage ....now trannmission...thats another story.....show me a 1000hp 7-bolt from a 2-g ...and i'll eat a bug...

hey spooling,just to give you an update 420a can crankwalk too! any engine has the possibilty of crankwalking,so his thinkings not that far off.oh and its the torque difference between 420a and the 4g64 thats important,not the hp. only comment if youve owned a friggin dsm,or at least do your reasearch before kids. this dsm would be sick with the proper tune

eclipses didnt come with 2.4 unless its a spyder con. and oooh big deal its got 141 hp compared to the 420a's 140 hp wow a big 1 hp advantage plus the fact that they sell more performance parts for a 2.0

the 2.4L was vehicle specific though. It's only in the Spyder. thats off of a mitsu forum page ok dude ive yet to see a gs that wasnt a spyder with a 2.4 and acording to all the other ppl they havent either and u also said that its got alot of power 140hp aint alot

It has nothing to do with that. The reason they spool so loud (sound like a jet) is because of the compressor housing has a ported shroud with the anti-surge ring. Recirculating the wastegate would allow you to hear the turbo even more considering you would be drowning out the sound with the loud dump!

ur a dumbass who knows nothing about cars. i am an owner of an 03 cobra w/455 whp, a stage 3 SRT-4 with an upgraded compressor & turbine wheel (Forced Performance Green made for the SRT) that has just as much as the Cobra, and a Mustang GT w/nitrous. i will tell you that my SRT-4 will spank my Cobra BAD and it still gets 24 mpg IN THE CITY. im not even gonna tell you what my gas mileage is on open highway. better than most civics or any other economy car. all in stock interior/trim too
