It only creates criminal organizations, addicts, and takes innocent lives. Look at Portugal, they decriminalized all controlled substances and their levels of drug use and addiction have decreased dramatically.
50% of the cartels profit is regs-mids brick marijuana...legalize it and sell it for cheaper than them and then prescribe drug addicts their drugs (with a plan to get them off of drugs) and that would take care of the rest. You want to make a difference and want a better place to live, then start with you. 50% of the cartels profit is regs-mids brick marijuana...legalize it and sell it for cheaper than them and then prescribe drug addicts their drugs (with a plan to get them off of drugs) and that would take care of the rest. My only concern about the legalization of all drugs is that the cartels will move into other illegal areas like the sex slave trade, or illegal arms trade.

they should stop wasting time and U.S. lifes in Afganistan, and send U.S. troops to stop these animals in mexico. If they do that, we should see some better results as far as less people geting killed in mexico, less drugs flowing to the US. and less of a worry for everyone. the only thing is that mexico has to acept the help and the U.S. has to give it

Lara Logan is a piece of shit right-wing reporter. All she does is cheerlead the elites. The entire mexican govt is corrupt, just like the US. Calderon is a pig who stole the election from the people anyway. I hope the US does end up in Mexico's drug war. We'll get legalization for sure then.

God, what a bunch a shit! And this is the "free press" in the U.S. Neither the U.S., nor the Mexican government is interested in the so-called drug war. The serious problem is the social inequality in Mexico. The U.S. and Mexico and now attempting a "Colombia" type solution. Associate any forms of protest over the horrible living conditions with "narcotráfico" . Understand people, the narco scum in Mexico are really a boon to helping maintain the economic status quo in Mexico.

decriminalize = becomes free & legal without being commercialized.
legalize = becomes commercialized (like beer) its taxed & the overpricing sends it back underground.
repeal all drug laws & theres nothing left to sell, drugs are legal. no money to be made means cartels & dealers cant profit = nothing left to fight over. of the 14 countries that legalized, drug use declined within 5 years. amsterdam caters to us & uk tourists, dutch people dont indulge.

She's full of shit. I guarantee you the government could stop 75% of the drugs flowing into the US from MExico if they wanted to. The war on drugs is really the war on poor and minorities. They shouldnt target 1 individual user until they shut down these massive, billion dollar drug pipelines flowing into the US.
