@lightstorm17 vtec doesnt lock another cam in it uses a different lobe on the cam for more lift, its a lobe not the cam. U did explain it correctly just exchange cam for lobe

@NikeBlazer623 Basically VTEC means it runs on a single cam until a certain rev limit is reached. This builds up oil pressure which causes a pin to lock another, more agressive cam into place. Non-VTEC means it's typically a single cam engine only. There isn't a more agressive cam locking into place. It just runs on one cam through the entire rev band of the engine. Of course, there are exceptions to this, but that's basically the difference.

I'm not a Honda fan, I'm a Nissan fan, but sure the honda engine doesn't sound as good as others but for what Hondas are worth they are good specially the NSX.

@Thizz2011 Put a straight through exhaust system on a vtec engine. The vtec part means that when the engine is at low(ish) RPM the valves arn't held down very long so fuel is saved, but when you bollock it and rev the guts off it (these engines will hit 9000RPM) the cam profile changes, so the valves in the engine are pushed down further for longer so the engine burns more fuel, creates a lot more power and raws like that. The change in sound you can here is the cam profile changing.

@MrChevroletEd It's the LQ4, pretty much the same thing as the LQ9 except the 9 has a higher compression ratio. So far, I love the swap. Worth every penny. The cast iron block can handle so much more power than the LS1, plus more cubes the better haha.

Badass window tint. I hit 60 in under 3.7 seconds, 1/4 mile in low 11's, and can still pull over 1.1G's in a turn, beating various Porsche's, BMW's, etc.. in autocross. It's not a mini van, trust me.
