As much as I love Chevy trucks especially the Avalanche, I have to say that Ford trucks are extremely more creative with their interior design, Chevy has that same plain look. The Ford F 150 Hardley Davison tops them all, and the Dodge Ram sucks! it has a 1 star in crash test not cool.
Dodge has the best Diesel Engine, the Cummin. Also Dodge started making aerodinamic trucks in the 90's and then ford copy dodge in the Ford heavy duty design. I love American trucks but dodge has the best looking pick up, from inside and outside.Plus the back light from the new chevy, is the one from the dodge. The new Chevy is ugly from inside. Ugly dash board, not for a monster truck at least.

Chevrolet just won Motor Trend Truck Of The Year award. It's one of the few times when similar trucks were able to compete for the award. Chevy has just beaten Ford's butt.
Also Pickup Trucks .com did a fair test between Ford and Chevy's heavy duty trucks and Chevy just left Ford in the dirt (despite Ford posting higher torque numbers).
Who Gives a crap how much any of these trucks can pull all of them Chevy Dodge Ford all can pull the legal GVW in my state. So who gives a crap it more about fuel economy and comfort since a spend alot of time im mine.

The Duramax is actually made by ISUZU, not Chevrolet. And Gm does not own Isuzu. Ford right now is the only company that makes there own engine. I own a 1983 INTERNATIONAL DIESEL. That's earlier than 1999.
Chevy used more crap from other brands than any other company. They had most of there small car technology and platforms from Isuzu, and Opel, and Honda. And before that TOYOTA.

@zekenc look at the facts the HD 6.6 has an upwards price of just over 45,000 dollars and the 6.7 powerstroke has an upwards price of just over 63,000. Yes indeed is more powerful but it only has 3 more hp, 3000 lb more towing and 1000, more payload. Now if you ask me the Powerstroke is really not worth that much more for only doing so much. Its just an opinion thought. Power to dollar

Looks like a nice, solid truck. However, I'm still not sold on the Duramax. I'm a Cummins owner and so I'm admittedly skeptical of V8 diesels. Second, I'm not so hot on the independent front suspension, but that can be changed pretty easily.
@Collecian Yeah I think that Cummins traditionally had the best diesel engine, but the new Duramax is outperforming it in every sector, so the 2011 Chevy HD definately appeals. Still, I'm hoping the 2012 Ram HD update will make my jaw drop. But for now, my '92 Power Ram works just fine and has many years of service left.

@kbb I just saw a fully loaded 2500HD, not the dulley for $60700 sticker at my local dealer.. $55 seems to be the mid range with a few at 52K... the price difference between the 2500 and 3500 is almost nothing.. couple of hundred I think.
@elyon1421 I just rolled one with a $60700 sticker for $57500 .. 2500HD with just about every major option... the 2011's are a great improvement. I had a 2009 2500 and this a lot more truck.
@522viper 6.0 an older diesel engine....there's been a 6.4 since than which has better performance & reliability than your Japanese Isuzu Duramax Diesel. And soon to come an all Ford built 2011 6.7L Diesel!

@fordguy001 I drive Chevys at home and Fords at work. The old 7.3 Ford diesels were great but the ones they have built since them have been very unreliable including the 6.4.
Just speaking from personal experience. Our Ford desiels are allways in the shop. Not saying Fords are crap, they aren't but they screwed up the diesel reliability. Old 7.3 were bullet proof the newer ones, not so much.
As far as diesel truck wars go Ford, Chevy ,and Dodge DONT make diesel engines ...the ford powerstroke is made by navistar i think...and Dodge has Cummings regarded as the BEST Diesel engine...wile chevy pretty much bought their diesel engine supplier since 2003 so I guess BUT they do have what is pretty much the BEST transmission out there...the ALLISON... but still FORD has always had the MOST towing capacity...their only downfall was adapting to stricter emmissions
I have drivin many fords, and they suck. The powerjoke is unreliable, the fronends rattle, they need to stick with one motor and try to make it reliable, instead of changing motors everyother year. I am a pround chevy owner and will aways be. This new HD is truly the best HD out there.

It's nice that Chevy finally put a real front end on these trucks. I'm in snow removal and over the last few years the Chevy's have been ... pure garbage for what i use them for. I wont even hire a subcontractors using a Chevy or GMC any more. They just can't make it threw a season with out multiple break downs. ( always related to the front end) I can't wait to see how these new Chevy's hold up.

These are some of the first Chevy styled truck that im attracted too. I usually prefer Fords. Of course not everyone agrees duh.... but i think chevy's done a pretty good job. but so has ford without a bailout so to each his own.

@4x4CHEVYmud my chevy dealer told me some interesting facts you might want to hear. they say that GM told them they are designing a mid-model overhaul. a new interior on LTZ/SLT models will look and feel similar to that of the Chevy Equinox and Chevy Cruze. a new front end on both trucks will be revised with the GMC Sierra having vertical projector fog lights similar to the GMC Terrain. more features are apparently in the planning process.

The Duramax is actually made by ISUZU, not Chevrolet. And Gm does not own Isuzu. Ford right now is the only company that makes there own engine. I own a 1983 INTERNATIONAL DIESEL. That's earlier than 1999.
Chevy used more crap from other brands than any other company. They had most of there small car technology and platforms from Isuzu, and Opel, and Honda. And before that TOYOTA.
GM has stole a shit load from TOYOTA, (COROLLA).

@zekenc look at the facts the HD 6.6 has an upwards price of just over 45,000 dollars and the 6.7 powerstroke has an upwards price of just over 63,000. Yes indeed is more powerful but it only has 3 more hp, 3000 lb more towing and 1000, more payload. Now if you ask me the Powerstroke is really not worth that much more for only doing so much. Its just an opinion thought. Power to dollar

Getting 140km on 90 liters of diesel is BS. Trucks stuck in cleaning mode oh i can go on. My dad has a 2005 Duramax LLY with over 200,000km and nothing went wrong with it once so ever.

Looks like a nice, solid truck. However, I'm still not sold on the Duramax. I'm a Cummins owner and so I'm admittedly skeptical of V8 diesels. Second, I'm not so hot on the independent front suspension, but that can be changed pretty easily.

@Collecian Yeah I think that Cummins traditionally had the best diesel engine, but the new Duramax is outperforming it in every sector, so the 2011 Chevy HD definately appeals. Still, I'm hoping the 2012 Ram HD update will make my jaw drop. But for now, my '92 Power Ram works just fine and has many years of service left.

@kbb I just saw a fully loaded 2500HD, not the dulley for $60700 sticker at my local dealer.. $55 seems to be the mid range with a few at 52K... the price difference between the 2500 and 3500 is almost nothing.. couple of hundred I think.

@fordguy001 I drive Chevys at home and Fords at work. The old 7.3 Ford diesels were great but the ones they have built since them have been very unreliable including the 6.4.
Just speaking from personal experience. Our Ford desiels are allways in the shop. Not saying Fords are crap, they aren't but they screwed up the diesel reliability. Old 7.3 were bullet proof the newer ones, not so much.

As far as diesel truck wars go Ford, Chevy ,and Dodge DONT make diesel engines ...the ford powerstroke is made by navistar i think...and Dodge has Cummings regarded as the BEST Diesel engine...wile chevy pretty much bought their diesel engine supplier since 2003 so I guess BUT they do have what is pretty much the BEST transmission out there...the ALLISON... but still FORD has always had the MOST towing capacity...their only downfall was adapting to stricter emmissions

I have drivin many fords, and they suck. The powerjoke is unreliable, the fronends rattle, they need to stick with one motor and try to make it reliable, instead of changing motors everyother year. I am a pround chevy owner and will aways be. This new HD is truly the best HD out there.

It's nice that Chevy finally put a real front end on these trucks. I'm in snow removal and over the last few years the Chevy's have been ... pure garbage for what i use them for. I wont even hire a subcontractors using a Chevy or GMC any more. They just can't make it threw a season with out multiple break downs. ( always related to the front end) I can't wait to see how these new Chevy's hold up.

My grand father has a 1986 F250, 1972 f100, 1993 f150, 2004 f150. excluding the 2004 they all have over 340K. but now he also has some nice Chevy's like a 1977 Chevy Cheyenne. he has an 1984 Doge Ram. @4x4CHEVYmud my chevy dealer told me some interesting facts you might want to hear. they say that GM told them they are designing a mid-model overhaul. a new interior on LTZ/SLT models will look and feel similar to that of the Chevy Equinox and Chevy Cruze. a new front end on both trucks will be revised with the GMC Sierra having vertical projector fog lights similar to the GMC Terrain. more features are apparently in the planning process.
