Have used MM CGMs system, and the CGMS is not as accurate as a DEXCOM stand alone CGMS unit, the MM can have a higher BG variance over actual BG when tested with a meter than the DEXCOM does when testing it's values versus a BG Meter test, just my experience. Waiting for Animas & Dexcom CGMS integration, FDA Approval is the holdup from what I have heard.
can you do a video comparing the ping and the minimed. Im trying to decide between the two. I like everything about the ping except it only holds 200u. I figured out though, Im only using 250u per 3 days. Is it annoying to change every 2 days instead of 3? Im not a huge fan of minimeds but the 300u is nice. Ive also heard that the CGM sucks on the minimed, and alot of people use the minimed with the dexcom CGM. Is this true? What pump is your overall favorite? Thanks
Hey there! I'm sure you havent tried it long enough but I'm trying to decide between Animas Ping and The Minimed Revel, using your opinion, How do you feel about minimed and which is your favorite?
@foreverdesiree I think that if your going to use the cgms then definitely get the revel, if your just going to be using the pump i would say the Animas Ping. The Revel is a great pump so far and does do just about every thing that the Ping does. Although, The ping's meter remote can actually bolus you remotely, where as the revel's meter cant. But there is no cgms built in to the ping. The revel has an outstanding online sofware called carelink! Far more suppirior to ping's. (read next commnt
@foreverdesiree All of your glucose readings store in the pump itself and when you wirelessly upload to carelink, your doctor can go online and actually look at charts and graphs showing all your readings and insulin corrections without even going to his office! Overall, it is a matter of personal opinion. I have used animas pumps for 6+ years, and this is my first minimed, What i really like about minimed is if a new pump comes outand you want to upgrade, you can just pay a fee of ......
@foreverdesiree around $200 and not go through insurance and exchange pumps. I know when i upgraded to the Ping i had to wait untill my warrenty to expire on my old pump and apply thhrough insurance. So as im getting to know the minimed more im getting to like it more. I honestly can't give you a for sure answer! Theres pros' and cons' to each! and they even out! hopefully soon i will be making a video for this situation your in! and i will be making one of carelink also.. Hope this helps!
@dibeticteen Thank you so much for all the info! I really appreciate your response :-), I have an appointment with my Doc to pick a pump and I've been going back and forward for the past 2 weeks! you definitley gave me an extra puch towards the MM. I'm in college and I agree with you about being low in class :-) Thanks again!
I am getting the Veo (Revel with low glucose suspend) soon (Silly endo wont hurry up) I am looking forward to see how you like it after having it for a bit

Hi...What is your diabetic complication risk when you always use insulin pump ?
I am afraid of eye and kidney problems...Please help me..
SUSSTURUCU 3 months ago
@SUSSTURUCU Well.. theres just as many risks as there is as using shots. No more, and no less. It is whatever you like best.
dibeticteen 3 months ago
@dibeticteen I think with people who use insulin pump truely have zero risk like normal people..
Because you give insulin to your body which is needed for glucose metabolism..
And you happen like a normal people..
For example ı like OmniPod insulin pump...

The slower it gives the insulin the more affective it is. I have been diabetic 12 years ALWAYS had a Medtranic.
