think about it this way: The Pentagon was NOT hit by a passenger plane 911 (why no wreckage and so on).

Suppose the Pentagon was hit by a smaller flying object, a small bomb-plane (flying bomb) or a cruise missile.

Why the young man became nervous ? He understood that a small plane-bomb was headed towards the Pentagon. Suppose he carried a remote control device that could change the course of the bomb-plane.

How long did Cheney know about the planes and the hijackings? I'm would guess there is protocol for events like this. I remember reading that the protocol was change a few months before the hijackings and then a few days after 9-11 they reverted back to the old protocol. Do a little googling.

A person could reasonably interpret this as a stand down order. There is no positive identification that tells us the orders in this conversation are shoot down orders.

Agree. The shootdown order Hamilton mentions is related to what eventually gets into 9/11 Commission Report on pg 40-41 for Flt 93. You & I know of contradiction: report mentions Cheney learning of Pentagon attack in tunnel; in VP/Russert 9/16/01 interview, he learns of Pentagon attack w/ Mineta there while in PEOC. What Mineta hears about the aide's "Do the orders still stand?" are not shoot/stand down specific. Anything after VP 9:58 arrival in PEOC as in rpt is bogus anyway as we both know!

Anyone who has attempted to dismiss Mineta's video testimony to the 911 commission regarding Cheney's interaction with a military representative and whether it was a SHOOT down order or STAND down order needs to explain why the Pentagon was not evacuated. Cheney was first notified by a military representative at 9:26 that an aircraft was headed towards the Pentagon. At 9:38 that aircraft smashed into the Pentagon. Pentagon personnel would have had 12 minutes to evacuate had they been warned.

You conspiracy theorist twists so much facts, he said the plane was heading towards Washington, not the Pentagon. I think the orignal destination for the plane was actually the Capitol building. So he didn't know the plane was heading for the pentagon. Nice try though bud with your conspiracy lies and misquotes.

Regardless of whether it was heading for Washington or the Pentagon itself, the Pentagon should have been evacuated until the threat had passed, along with every other building that could potentially have been a target. Remember that 2 public buildings had just been hit by "hijacked aircraft". And remember that the Capitol building was evacuated - even though the "plane" didn't hit it. So why not the Pentagon? Should they have waited the last 20 seconds to see what the target was?

You are right, but they didn't know it was going to hit the pentagon, and it wouldve taken a long time to order an evacuation along with other buildings in Washington, really not ordering an evacuation might have actually saved more lives, since most of the people were indoors protected by the plane, if they were outside, they wouldve been exposed to the explosion, and the debree shot out from the explosion.

@SelmaGoods You need to explain why Mineta's testimony is more trustworthy than everyone elses. Why are his anomalies excused? There is more evidence that Mineta was not talking about Flight 77 and the Cheney did not enter the bunker just like the 9/11 commission said. Go to 911 myths. It refutes both of the arguements.
