  • Hey dude, i just got into coffee and got myself one of these machines. Just wondering why you unpressurized the portafilter? will it be wrong to have it remain unpressurized and still tamp it? Not that ive tried, but i don't have a tamper yet; just got the machine a week ago.

  • @matttheasianguy There's a LOT to learn about coffee mate, and if you watch my other videos, you'll see as they get more recent, I change tamps. I'm currently on my 3rd coffee machine, 3rd grinder, and 5th tamper. In other words, get a good fitting tamper ASAP!

Also, the less material you have between the coffee and the cup, the better. That's why I depressurised the portafilter. It's pretty easy to do (google it). I also made my own bottomless portafilter. There's a video of that as well :)

  • is that a pressurized portafilter?

  • @eunajeon Nah mate I removed all the plastic and rubber from inside it so that it would be unpressurised.

  • Nice vid man. You know how people say this machine can't really make espresso that good compare to the Silvia and stuffs. That's not true. I believe that with the right technique and some trick, the espresso from this machine can come out as good as it comes from the Silvia. I own this machine too. Maybe I'll upload a vid someday to share my techniques and tricks.

  • Nice one mate. Good to see you getting in to the coffee.

  • Thanks T man! Hope you liked it :) It's amazing how much better a coffee can be on a $500 machine with good technique, compared to a $5000 machine, with shit technique...
