Okay. I have a really stupid question. I just got this game on the virtual console. Isn't there a screen that explains the story? Does anyone know where it is?

@TripleT706 Those things spinning around are a shield that you get when you go in for "training" and the mirrors come after you. After enduring the training you are given a choice of fireballs around your arrows, the long bow, which makes your arrows shoot across the screen, and a shield.
Nothing, it is supposed to be a training door, for when you have enough XP you can fight someone and get a strength upgrade, but there is no way possible to get enough points, so it just comes up as empty
@EternalBlue32 Dude you gotta help me out, im trying to get the best ending (kiss), what would you suggest i do? im on already on level 3 but if i restart the game will i lose all my upgrades and equipment?

The gameboy version was better, imo. The dungeons were more detailed, no black backgrounds.

no not i never cleared lev 4 to hard for me=) all levels hard if you ask me it took me 3 weeks before i got to lev3 now im always saving codes=)
