  • WATCH THE CHEERING @1:38 2:30 4:40 3:35

SINGAPOREANS WERE MUCH MORE HAPPIER IN 1998 THAN PRESENT

I DOUBT SO MANY PEOPLE WILL SING THE SONGS RIGHT NOW

  • @Baddieko : The reason why seldom people sing the national song is because they are not sure how to sing or dun even know how to sing.. That the sad part of the society now. Government spend millions of dollars from various sponsor to make this big events yearly. sadly it will be waste of money and also the hard work by the committee members

  • @isetan78 Wrong. Because people no longer feel a sense of belonging to Singapore. Foreigners everywhere and not everyone is living a good life in comparisons to the standards of living then and now. So how do you expect people to be patriotic?

  • i think ndp songs last time were really much moving n catching

  • @limleslie86 : I Totally agree with you.. the song recently year has been diasppointing... A Truly music is something that can arouse your feel and many more. Not just following what the trend now....

  • Can u send me the whole thing? you have the whole CD izzit?

Can send me through email the whole of NDP 98 pleasee?

  • The drum major looked very serious 9:08 - 9:10

  • LOL

In 1998 they marched on GRASS

In 2010 at the Padang they march on CEMENT

  • Second mystery question:

After the president comes out of the car, I can hear someone shouting commands.

    Who is that?

  • @augpeh : That was the parade command that giving command to the Guard of houour for general salute to the president...

  • @isetan78 The parade commander voice is not so soft. Turn up the volume when the president gets out of the car and he is talking to the CDF

    Then you will hear it.

  • @augpeh

That was for the Ceremonial Lance Guards.

  • Thank you! I was born in 2000.

  • where did u get this vid???

  • @aarondandley126 : I was one of the participant for that year NDP 98. So we will given a free NDP VCD than... hehe

  • @isetan78

it was alr like this or was it cut???

    can send me???

    pls...?

  • @TopGearlPods

You are right! The 1997 financial crisis and the first time when PSI level soared more than 200 points. It was those last 2 years when Singapore faces great challenges. However, it was not so crowded during then, people seems happier! How I wish Kit could sing the Chinese version at Padang last month too...

  • Video so short...... I wish I can watch NDP 1998 parade show!

  • @Jason970919

yup! me too but i was 6 year old back then i nearly forgotten it!

  • Thx! Was born in 99'

  • The citizens seem to be happier in the 90s than the NDP now.

  • Comment removed

  • @Baddieko

yeap! true even theres a recession in 1997 but everyone is happy because the cost of living wasn't high back then

  • hope this wasnt lip synced

  • The 1st GOH battalion was That of the Singapore Infantry Regiment

  • oh man! thanks for uploading! I was trying so hard to search for the 1998 NDP! This was the first time Kit Chan sang Home at National Stadium. 12 years later, she is still pretty and this time she sang at Padang! I am proud of Kit!!!

  • I was there!!! :)

  • do u have the full song for HOME in 1998 ndp? i have been searching HIGH N LOW for yrs! pls upload the full song can?

  • really sia...the regimental colours missing

  • ahhh they used WIRED MIC.. eheheh

  • Wow. There were no regimental colours in ndp 98.

  • I also no idea... hehe

  • @isetan78 ltc kerry chen...

  • Mystery question: Who is the PC?

  • This video took place at National Stadium in year 1998..................

  • Nearly mistaken it for padang

  • @C151Shaun Is it because of the 'city hall' building?

  • @augpeh yeah.

  • I like the Padang stage design :D

  • The 90s NDP is still the best with great national songs that will make ur 'hair' stand... but recent years one is just sad to comment...

  • @isetan78 do you have the parade segment of them marching in ?? Mind Upload thanks

  • wow nice :D thanks for sharing 1998 wow

  • One of the best National Song was sang by Kit Chan, entitled 'Home'. The atmosphere at the old national stadium was more intense.

  • I think is this one of the very first occasions when Majulah Singapura was played in its present tune of F Major
