Not too bad. Least it was only the snare. I've had a bottom head break (during practice) and you can't even use it as a drum anymore. If a top head breaks you kind of deserve it. Having a pedal break must be bad... Won't happen with me tho.. Have my trust DW 5000s.
@TheDrummist88 Has nothing to do with it. I bet 99 percent of the audience didn't even notice..so that's not a big deal. I've had my bass drum pedal break mid song and had to hit the floor tom..now that's fail.
Your a good drummer dude, whats the name of the band? I had an experience where the batter head of the snare had a small tear on it around the start of the gig, towards the end.. that small tear.. was a massive tear!
whats more embarrasing you ask? when your playing your first gig (thats nerve racking enough) and your bass beaters are loose and they fly off mid song. then you cant find them. haha my first gig sucked.
could've been worse, i'm in a marching band, we were playing in Stratford on Avon for Shakespeares birthday parade, on our lead drummers snare skin just snapped, it was pretty embarrasing, needless to say myself and the rest of the brass couldn't contain ourselves and burst out laughing.
Dude i was using my ipod and didnt realy know what happend it didnt sound any diffrent so i was like wtf i didnt realize wut happend til he lifted the snare lol...... Like u did when something like that haappens the best thing to do is play through..... Nothin u can do about that
That was absolutely adorable haha, loved your expression at 1:26. Great job continue playing though (specially keeping time whilst being drunk) and managing to get the guys attention to grab another snare. =)
There was never a problem as all drummers have a syndrome called C.B.E.S.D. It is a rare syndrome only found in drummers! My drum teacher who is also a doctor diagnosed it in me!!!! The full name of the syndrome is CAN'T BUY ENOUGH SNARE DRUMS!!!! LOL
@warlockx01 listen to it for a good while then just play it untill u nail it :) if u cant hear the original drums when your playing just listen and play along by tapping on your legs then u will memorize the drum track :)
I was playing a gig and my crash cymbal fell off the stage. Then that same show the bottom skin on my snare broke. I just got fucked over and that was my band's first gig
@warlockx01 Practice and more practice even if it may become annoying and tiring, just keep on practicing and you'll get it, theres no rush when learning things :)
Ah that sucks.. One time at at school concert, I had my snares off during the other performances because they were making noise, and then I forgot to turn them on before we started D:
Well, u had a backup snare! If that happens to me im fuck*d lol
