flares, they should have added flares on enemy planes. something like a certain % chance of flares when you launch a missile, higher % for aces and higher difficulty. I need to find a copy so i can play though this awesome game again

@mvasquez820 I would use that, but the MiG handles like a tank. a tank that isn't very agile.

btw how did you manage to take out the typhoons with out exceeding 100 feet?

@darkshadowscene try to get behind them without flying over the canyon and keep firing until they go down. SAAMs (the one with a target circle) also help as they're quite accurate, so long as you stay down in the canyon. If you absolutely have to go above, take your shot and dive quickly.

How did you shoot down the Ace (special paint) in this mission? Did you snipe him with LAAM's until you scored a lucky kill?

that's not what I meant. The Belkan (Ofnir Squadron) aces don't pose a threat at all if you're prepared for them.

I meant the Ace (never got to see the name long enough to remember because I got shot down by the AA on top of the canyon) with the special paint that appears after killing half of the targets. I believe it is the Mig-25 Foxeye, but I may be wrong.

Oh, i know who you mean (his name was Swordfish, or something like that)

I basically to a risk and used the SAAM, the one with the guiding circle; pretty accurate, but when the missile hit, you have to dive pretty quickly

I wouldn't say a mini-boss. I shot down all of the Ace pilots in Ace Mode (VERY easy kills and the easiest mode). Most ace pilots aren't a threat, they just appear in the most inconvenient places (Such as the Yellow, Dune, and aformentioned ace.

For Swordfish, it is very hard to force him into a head to head engagement. Most of the time, the missiles will miss and he will be unreachable.

The TL is the easiest way to kill the aces. Just be careful in the tunnel.

Ofnir Squadron is actually very easy to beat in this mission and all other missions they make an appearance in. Their formation is very tight and they fly through the treacherous ravine without trouble. However, they also fly close togehter. If one uses the TL, one can see the planes crash into the laser, it's very funny.

Of course, you can sit back and have the repetitious task of retrying the mission.
