  • could you please tell me the models of the remote? :)

  • @Nirmal1997 Which remote? You can find plenty of remotes online . . .

  • @palmisano the 2-degree remote. could you please tell me where to buy it cause i couldn't find it on amazon

  • @Nirmal1997 Uhhhh which one is the 2-degree one? Just go to my site and click on 'parts list' at the top left.

  • where did you get the wheel

  • @abhinavapillai I made those wheels.

  • can u plez send me a message or email me I really need an answer and ur the only one who can help me I'm doing this for a project which is due in a month.I am making a robot with fpv that has pan tilt capabilities.plez help email at javarwyche@Gmail.com or a message on my channel thanks very much

  • @JJ9062 Just ask your question on my site forum, plenty of people there that can help.

  • great video. I am trying to start a school project to make robots. What type of connector do I need for the battery to be hooked up to the receiver?

  • @lacone3615 Hitec/Futaba connector

  • could any reciver work for any remote controlle

  • @iamtoawesome yes, as long as their crystals use the same frequency.

  • Email me @ ravin69@aol.com. Have question on hooking up liner actuators in stead of servos. My project is full size servos are to weak to turn the wheels.

  • @Def1antone Sorry, but I get a ton of emails on this stuff already. Just post your question on my forum (you'll find it on my site). There are like 8000 other members there to help you out =P

  • does it have to be the smae frequency between the remote and the reciever to work?

  • @65Cadd yes

  • hi-tech transmitter! :D im using a spektrum DX 6I

  • what kind of servo are you using?

  • @SKYNETDUO HS-311 . . . but *any* servo will work

  • @palmisano thanks the video helps a lot

  • do u just get a random remote control? or do u have to program it?

  • @kruja123 any remote will work . . . the more expensive remotes allow you to control more servos and have additional special features . . .

  • @kruja123 oh and, no need to program it

  • why r u showing all of those controller at1:00

  • can u post a vdo on how to make a remote control transmitter and reciever?

  • Comment removed

  • where can i find remotes like those?

  • @wastefuldragon At online websites that sell them lol. There is a parts list on my website.

  • is there any way to transform your joystick to a remote control ?

  • @Ahmed0Elyamani Sure . . . you can also turn a motorcycle into a car as well, but it's easier to just get a car =P

  • pretty cool .. but i can't seem to find any of the instruments :(

  • its like garrys mod, but in real life :O

  • hey...i needed ur help...im doing my undergraduate course in electronics and communication engineering(B.Tech)...i m very interested in robotics field...can u give me suggestion how much robotics is related 2 mi field n is there any scope fr me in robotics after completing gradustion in my field like in M.Tech degree...i'll try 2 learn from ur website in my vacations...i still have 2.5 yrs left till i am graduate in electronics...r dere any other gud sites u want me check inot?...plz reply...

  • @qrazaaq Check my site and forum for more help. It'll answer all your questions =)

  • so where'd you get the money to buy all that shit? i mean you have enough controllers xD

  • @killer2611 A day job =P

  • @palmisano Can I use a gamecube controller or maybe a game controller

  • @NitahandFelixPr2016 Yeap, there is code for a PS2 controller and instructions on my site. Just do a search.

  • @killer2611 A day job can buy the capital for research and development in fancy remotes to eventually save time to do jobs remotely with a robot. I bet if you spend enough money you can have a robot that can be controlled 100 miles away. In a 100 mile radius how many jobs can be done controlled from your home or business? More work or jobs can be done and if your paying the same price for a job and no dispatch time is involved, then eventually the equipment pays for itself. It's mathematics.

  • @brianmthrs ummm i think you're over thinking just a tiinnnnyy little bit.

  • well done

  • what kind of servo is it

  • @CriTicaLxChannel HS-311, modified for continuous rotation

  • how do you connect the controller to connect to the robot

  • @spottedleaf184 just match the frequencies and it'll already be connected

  • OMG I totally needed that! n00b to RC and that was VERY helpful!!!

  • @hjokillen how what works when what turns?

  • Thanks for the tutorial!

Can you tell me why you use modified servo instead of dc motors?

  • @ttttkk2 Servos have a motor driver and gearing built in. Motors do not. As such, you'll need to buy and wire/assemble those components separately. Servos are just easier.

  • would putting a higher voltage battery fry the motors?

  • @Hiheyhelloyo The servo will have a voltage rating. If you exceed that rating, you risk damaging/frying the servo.

  • I assume the reciever only puts out a certain ammount of power. Where do you get one, and how much power do they put out? Voltage and Amperage.

  • @FandRRacing The receiver just has a simple power bus, so it outputs whatever the battery outputs. It does have maximum limits before melting though, of which you should refer to the receiver datasheet. Check my forum for further questions . . .

  • i have my servos but NORMALY the servo only mooves 90" each direction how do i get it to keep on going?????????

  • @SuperMillerman10 Continuous rotation servo

  • @SuperMillerman10 You modify them. Search my site for a tutorial on how to do it.

  • dose the place the servo gets plugged into determine what on the controller make it run?(like slot 1= joystick up, slot 2= joystick down ect. )

  • @111random yes

  • thanks:)

  • does the receiver come with the remote control?

  • @angMANONOOD Only if it says it does (sometimes).

  • ayo y you dont use the digital remote? wil it still work?

  • @cajst56st ?

  • What servo's did you use?

  • @VincentdeJager1996 Hitecs . . . I think they were HS-311's

  • can i use the playstation joistick as a remote controler

  • @flyingace1212 Yes, but it involves programming a microcontroller.

  • @palmisano how exactly

  • @flyingace1212 You google it, plenty of tutorials out there =P Check out my site forum for more help.

  • were do you get receavers?

  • @12345luigi1 You can get it from any place that sells RC components.

  • thanks man

  • 1:29 where to get that?

  • @GamezAddict008 It's a receiver. You can get it from any place that sells RC components.

  • ayo where you get them wheels from?

  • @cajst56st I made them.

  • i like the robot mobolity k awsome

how much does the remote cost

  • why do most videos out there involve programing plus how do you choose what direction on the controller activates what servo?

  • @airsoftMadness9 The controller has switches that let you choose which way it goes.

  • Where do you buy these parts

  • @airsoftMadness9 Go to my website, and the top left of every page says 'Parts List'.

  • can you get these parts at radioshack, plus you never said what "trems" do

  • @airsoftMadness9 Nope, RadioShack doesn't sell it. Trims are for trimming the servo center position. It'll be obvious when you fiddle with them.

  • How much mAmps can i plug into one channel of reciver? Can u measure how much mAmps are taking those servos? Thanks! :)

  • @gbmonstergb The datasheet for your receiver will say. A single servo can use several amps.

  • @palmisano Ok, thanks but one more question. Can I plug a relay directly into reciver? I think coil will be jumping and don't work, but I'm not sure.

  • @gbmonstergb No. What you want is called an ESC, which is sorta like a relay and can plug into a receiver. I recommend going to my site forum to get more assistance =)

  • where can u get the 2 degree remote controll cus ive looked everywhere

  • @TeamOnyx1 You can get them pretty much anywhere lol . . .

  • ur awsome! HOW OLD R U?

  • @Nicz27 I'm in my upper 20's . . .

  • hey first of all nice video and cool rc. So i need to ask you something i have this idea to make a rc , the question is do you know from where can i buy everything i need for the rc like receivers ,wheels and so on. and also if you know a website or something to buy this all.

    thank you and nice video.

  • @iankiller45 On my website, on every page at the top left, is a link that says 'parts list' =P

  • @palmisano ty :)

  • thanks

  • cool RC remote controlers 5*

  • ok a few questions, does the remote control come with a receiver and if not how are they connected? can I use regular motors instead of servos and if yes do are they connected to the receiver differently? and last but not least, does the frequency on the remote and the receiver have to be the same ?

Thanks a lot man, great video !

  • @5093329225 1) you get what you buy 2) no, you can't use regular motors 3) yes

  • @palmisano I understand the first part but say i buy a receiver and a remote control, how do I connect them ?

    Thank you !

  • @5093329225 They just need to have the same frequency crystal.

  • @palmisano thank you so much !

  • did you modify those servos?

  • @mr2old yes

  • @palmisano is it hard to modify servos? or do i just open it up and remove something?

  • @mr2old Nope not hard, but the first time might take you 30 min to do. My site has a tutorial.

  • @palmisano ok ty. btw are servos polarized? can i just reverse the voltage to make it spin in the other direction?

  • @mr2old reversing power on a servo will fry it =P

  • @palmisano so how do i make it spin the other way?

  • @mr2old You should look up what a servo is and how to control it. It's a motor + control electronics built into it already. My site has a tutorial.

  • @palmisano i know what a servo is but i dont understand why i cant send a negative voltage to a servo without frying it. and your site doesnt say anything about this... for the record: im not gonna work with a microcontroller or any programming, just with a switch i designed to reverse polarity.

  • @palmisano ah wait i found how to make it spin the other way: change the pulse from 1-2ms and back. do you know if theres a device (with rotary switch) to control that?

  • @mr2old Doesn't sound like you know what a servo is =P

If you just want basic switch control without programming a microcontroller, then you don't want a servo. You just want a motor and a motor controller.

  • @palmisano i found a device for making it spin manually: a servo tester based on a NE555 timer :D

btw: I'm roory20 with another account, because you didn't respond to roory20 anymore (I understand, I annoyed you :P). But gladly I managed to get some more info out of you with this account and now I have all the knowledge and components to build a powerful hatchet on an RC-car, my science project. Thank you so much for helping me out man! You and your site really got me interested in robotics.

  • Would it work if I put a relais connected to a battery+strong electro motor on the receiver?

  • @roory20 nope

  • @palmisano Any suggestions on how to make a strong electro motor RC'd? Sorry but I'm a total noob at this :/

  • @roory20 You'll need to spend $20 on additional electronics (so if you're doing it only because servos cost more, it's not worth it). Look for 'motor controller'.

  • @palmisano Can I do it with an H-brigde? Can I just connect the H-bridge to my receiver and the other two wires to my battery and motor? And I assume I don't have to worry about those MOSFETs because there're already built in the controller? Thank you so much for helping me out!

  • @roory20 No, you can't. Your circuitry must follow the standard servo PWM signal pulsing. If you make your own electronics, it must do the same thing a servo does. I recommend going to my site to learn more . . .

  • @palmisano I'm all over your site, and I found your vids with your site, but it's really hard to find the correct and useful information for my project... Hmm I might just give up on it :S I thought it was just a matter of connecting the right pieces together, but now I'm confronted with all these complications...ARGH!

  • @roory20 Why not use servos? You aren't going to get any cheaper or easier than that lol . . .

  • @palmisano I need something powerful. I don't want to control a vehicle, but a strong mechanic arm. Velocity, variable rotation speed, etc. don't matter to me, as long as the blow the arm can gives contains much strength. I might use a motor from a small drill for it, combined with a chain, and according to your site an H-bridge should work for that... But no servos because there're too weak.

  • @roory20 What torque do you need?

  • @palmisano Enough to deliver quick and powerful blows that can destroy something like thin pieces of wood. Something like the arm on the Deadblow, the robot Grant Imahara built (I'm sure you've heard of him), but then with a electric motor instead of an hydraulic one.

  • @roory20 I meant quantitatively, how much torque =P

If you just want to break something, you don't want a servo (a motor with position control). You just want to power a motor on and off, right?

  • @palmisano Yes. Just a powerful motor, not that big (10 x 10 x 5 max). I want it to go forward and backward (to position for another blow). I don't know how much torque you need for that, but as high as possible for a decently powerful motor.

  • Hey, i have been watching alot of videos but this is the only video that has explained it in such a a clear way, thanks a lot, i really appreciate it.

  • @MrCocopops100 You should see my site, it's filled with tutorials like this =)

  • Hey, just checking, this would work with motors as well, right? Problem with servos is that the store nearby doesn't have them and I don't have enough time to get them online. Thanks a lot for posting this, great video :)

  • @anandhemmady It must be servos, only.

  • Comment removed

  • @LifeRocketTV See my site for a tutorial.

  • i have a probleam with servo or remote control my servo turns only 180 deg! I have hs-322 hd servo and Fly Sky FS-CT6A transmitter. Who know what to do please tell me!!!

  • @iljanster You need to modify it. See my site for more info.

  • @palmisano Thanks but now i have another problem when i put up or down the joystick only one servo moves, and when i put joystick left or right second servo moves!!!

  • @iljanster How is that a problem?

  • @palmisano I'm sorry now i understand how it work( :

  • @LifeRocketTV Thanks a lot ;) I have thought about the project and I'm going to put a butane gas bottle on it, with a lighter in front of it, and I'm going to make that RC'd somehow. I'm not gonna use gasoline because that's fluid which is very dangerous :P The hatchet will be a little to the front to optimize range and I'm gonna make it move with a bike-chain system. Not sure wether to use wheels, because then I need to make a steering system. Might just go for tracks. WISH ME LUCK! :P

  • Could you tell me what the model and brand is of the 1st and 2nd controller that you showed? It would be very nice if you replied

  • @AkiraElric1985 There are plenty of controllers out there. See the partslist on my site for links. Its at the top left of every page.

  • I'm building a 'battlebot' for a science project at school. I'm gonna equip a hatchet of some kind or a circular blade and a flamethrower. Any tips? And in what kind of stores do I have to look for the various parts you showed in the video?

    Thanks.

  • @roory20 see my forum/site . . .

  • @palmisano Yeah the site is really helpful, but I can't find tips for the hatchet+flamethrower?

  • @roory20 Thats what the forum is for. Just post your design and people will help make it better.

  • Can u us a rc remote from any remote control car???

  • I am trying to learn how to wire the Servos, receivers and the radio controller n how it all come together ur video is probably the best one so far u seem like u have a good idea of how things works or latest got the basics down would u be able to tell me how does one make "A radio transmitter" compatible with the receiver? if i understand from ur video correctly it would be by swapping out the "crystal" with the corresponding frequency listed on either the reciever or the transmitter correct?

  • im about to create an antweight robot something like this. by looking at some of the products websites have to offer they sell controllers. in your video you use a reciever thats connected to the battery. wouldent it be possible just to put the reviever on the controller board. because i plan o add a saw on mines in the future and i dont think another motor can be placed into the reciever. im very new to robotics so if this sounds like a dumb question now you know lol

  • @MrGiantHippo Go to my site, and visit my help forum. Lots of people that can answer your question =)

  • Look. I know you love your controllers, but i don't need to see your whole collection.

    hahaha. :)

  • can u tell me the servos brand and model?!?!?!

  • @soldout1986 I used Hitec HS-311, but any servo will work.

  • @palmisano can this servo do a 360degree rotation or u hacked it?

  • @soldout1986 hacked . . . 99% of all servos must be hacked for this . . .

  • do u know how to make a joint tracking suit that controls the joints of a robot by ur movement destination at exaclly where u move?

  • @DragonKid562 See my site forum.

  • what if we use a ac or dc motor in place if servos

do speed slow down or what

  • @TeachingsOfIslam servos *are* DC motors =P

  • put a camera and water bomb on top, a servo driven needle and ive got a RC water spreading robot, and the camera lets me see whose around. my sister is dead =D

  • Hi, so I am trying to build this RC robot, and I got my parts (receiver, servo, battery) from my RC car. I'm just wondering, how did you make the other servo rotate the other way because the servos I modified are rotating clockwise. Thanks.

  • @julzabc uhhhh you have the remote command it to rotate the other way? =P

  • which would be best to by off your site or go to the hobby shop because when i took a look at your site it seemed they were already the way you have it

  • @pimpmobil98 I don't sell servos . . .

  • @palmisano yes i know but you had links srry thats wat i meant

  • i went to my local hobby shop to find some of the parts and when i asked for a servo they thought i was insane saying i would nees some kind of motor and everything so what im trying to ask is do you really use servos

  • @pimpmobil98 Yeap, I use servos. Those guys at that hobby shop don't know what they are talking about. You can easily modify a servo to rotate continuously, which I'm sure is what they didn't know.

  • Where can you get remotes/receivers?

  • @ThisOnesForReal See parts list on my website.

  • wtf why do you say degrese how ever u spell that!!

  • dude u are awesome

  • LMAO! "you can also get nicer remote controls LIKE THIS GUYYY " lol!

  • right now the micro spektrum receiver is the smallest .. ithink

  • @psphackoOo some spectrum copys are lighter 1.2g!!!

  • I need help finding a battery to use. The servo i have picked out used about 4.8-6v

I have looked on your website and partslist, but i do not know which type of batter to use.... or which connector to use. I have the same reciever as in your video. I also need a charger

  • @MoneyMager If you ever need help with robots, try posting your questions on my website forum. Tons of people to help you =)

  • im luky i have digital remote u can make it conttrol2 servos at once easy 2 stear

  • neat intro, very informative for new builders, one thing, you demonstrated bundling the wires and the antenna. you should not have the wires bundled together because signals can jump. also, the antenna for the receiver should always be straight (i know this is just a demonstration but some people might apply the bundling advice when they really shouldn't) great vid, just have had too many bad experiences with radio antennas and pwm cables
