Hi, this looks very cool. I've been searching for a tutorial on physical explosions, but all I can find are the particle tutorials.
Is there any chance I could add you somewhere or you could make a quick quick quick tutorial. I can't find a way to make outward forces in Blender.. :(
After all, this is the game engine right?
Seriously thanks in advance and good luck on future stuff!
@ProductionSniper Yh mate, I wish I could help you I've been trying to replicate it for ages, it was a complete glitch in the game engine. I was trying to make a tower and when I enabled one cube as compound, it exploded perfectly and I thought wow that looks kool ill render it haha. I've come close but I haven't been able to reproduce it, sorry :(
@STJAC23 Thats exactly what happened to me. I just kind of fiddled around with it, so helpless, reading my wiki book, and then that one video tutorial made everything make sense, it just... CLICKED. I love blender now!
Thanks:), it was just a massive stack of cubes with physics applied, except one cube in the middle had compound applied. Then just a particle explosion type effect underneath.
Thanks:) I copied a cube making a line, then copied the line making the first layer, i then copied the layer until i got the rectangle, so yes in essence i did copy the cube
hey, thanks for your interest. tbh ive actually had a hard time replicating this because it was kind of a mistake, the cubes just happened to repel so I added in the camera movement and the time freeze. If I get round to doing a tut, i will probably upload it to everythingfx, a youtube channel for my tutorials, but if not check it out anyway, there are some gd tuts, thanks again, Joel
All the cubes have physics applied, one in the middle of the stack has the compound function, the cubes then get fored away like an explosion, the visual explosion itself does not affect the cubes.
Yes, just keep experimenting till you get the result you want, also before rendering click on the game tab at the top of the page then click record game physics to ipo
you can hear the heavy from TF2 crying in the sound.

Those sound effects seem quite familiar from a game I play, where did you get the sounds?

this is... AWESOME, brilliant audio, perfect for the explosion

OMG thats so freakin awesome!!!
can u plz tell me how to do that?

Thanks:), it was just a massive stack of cubes with physics applied, except one cube in the middle had compound applied. Then just a particle explosion type effect underneath.

did u copy every single cube to make one rectangle?
by the way, it is awesome! keep the good work :)

You should make a tutorial on how you did this.

how do you do explosions that makes things fly away?
stoffe9522 3 years ago
All the cubes have physics applied, one in the middle of the stack has the compound function, the cubes then get fored away like an explosion, the visual explosion itself does not affect the cubes.
STJAC23 3 years ago
how to use the compound thing,i have added rigid body physics to the cubes, but how do i use the compund things so they fly away?
stoffe9522 3 years ago
In the physics bit, click bounds then compound
STJAC23 3 years ago
ok,do i only have to wait then for the explosion when i klick 'p'?
stoffe9522 3 years ago
Yes, just keep experimenting till you get the result you want, also before rendering click on the game tab at the top of the page then click record game physics to ipo
STJAC23 3 years ago
do i need to click any button or just klick on ''p'' to start the explosion thing? i can't get the things to fly away
stoffe9522 3 years ago
I think the way you did is GREAT! just the fireball, really sucks, you should either get rid of it or change it.
raeeees 3 years ago
Yeah I Know, but hey, its only experimental.
