I'm pretty sure 343 was trying to reference the fact that they still haven't given us much info on Halo 4 by sticking a coolface (yeah, it's called the coolface you imbeciles) on what looks like the Forerunner structure from the Legendary ending of Halo 3 and the Halo 4 teaser.

The "Defy the Covenant" poster is a likely reference to their Defiant map pack for Halo 3, which I recommend getting. It and the the Noble pack are actually very good compared to the default maps in Reach.
