bloody good vision. Peoples if ya shooting a video and dont want zoom noises by a video camera. easy. i think the vision on this camera is pretty good, great for small clips of birthdays, partys etc.
I assume by the camera motor sound that it's optical zoom not digital zoom. Is anyone able to confirm if that indeed is optical zoom working in movie mode? This is apparently the reason why many camera companies lock the optical zoom in movie mode as it's very expensive to make a motor that's so close to the microphone that doesn't make any noise.

It does use optical zoom while filming, and yes it is quite noisy. Also, now you just have the opportunity to use it if you can live with the noise.

a very decent and powerful camera..downside is you can hear the zoom motor while recording..
