It was clear . ask the judges. no one cares about other peoples opinion, they won already, don't be those people who whine because your line backer sucked at a football game. although i give props to the africans because they were great too. but the judges decided the filipino's were better this time round. stop crying.
and Africa was a beast LAST year but im sorry, the judges wanna see something new to the table...(im not saying Africa is overrated and such), but versitility would be nice to see
Where is Juliet and Nnedema? they're prolly the only one who listens to reasons.. they my homegalls, but n'ways....if you guys are still going at it, why not clarify it with the judges i mean Ms. Mathews is at dance club every thursday afterschool, and as far as im concerned we (all cultures) represented our cultures very well.....if you guys are still wondering why africans ddnt place, read what frikitonster said and to back it up ask the judges
lastly, there was honestly no hate going on between the africans and the filipinos. at least from the filipino perspective. they were nothing but nice to the africans, so they really don't deserve any of this bullcrap from anyone. the filipinos did NOT have a cocky attitude about who was going to win nor did they bash any other group. they only did it to have fun. if you're only upset because your friends didn't win or place, i'm sorry. but don't blame the filipinos. blame the judges.
second of all to the general public: let's not forget what this competition was judged on. the major components were: the flag&costumes, the synchronicity, and how well the culture was represented. i admit, the africans had the costumes, but still. the filipinos had a more creative flag. secondly, the filipinos were more in sync with each other. the africans were good too, but certain parts of their dance weren't together. thirdly, each team represented their culture just as well as the other.
aznugo - it's a culture DANCE COMPETITION. the filipinos put themselves as filipino/american for a reason. to show their versatility in doing what we do. and for you to say our culture part was wack, that's major disrespect. that's like if the filipinos said that the african tribal dance was wack.
the culture was showed along with the modern, which shows so much of a Filipino/American aspect of life. you're only saying what you are saying azungo because the judges was not interested in an only culture dance, or the spanish people would have won. mmkay

i agree the african group was good, but no offense, but it was the same thing continuous. sbc had a variety that reflects the Philippines an Filipino americans (their cultural dance, breakdance, and recent "hits") and asians always were sneaker freaks...

wrong, calling a dance style crap is great disrespect, especially coming from someone who dosent dance. secondly, we did NOT do exactly what the other teams did, they failed to show cultural dances in their performance, we represented Philippines and america, the Filipino part was the tinikling, which was a traditional Filipino dance, then we did an all american cultural dance, hitting multiple styles of hiphop (breaking, house, punking)
What the other teams lacked was cultural dancing, yes they did some modern form of hiphop (dmac and poplocking LOL!!!!) but america isent only that, perhaps tap dancing or something else cause last time i checked, america isent only hiphop. so it was totally fair. africa did very well portraying the cultural aspect, but they lack a modern, that is why we won. stop hating and crying about it. and i can read, you said "bboying and CRAP", perhaps you dont know what your typing =P
