  • @canaanaija Thanks You too!

  • ok.

  • MY hubby is thinking about putting some in his head he want me to. Hey thank you for the info.

  • @cherrypops3 Glad we could help. Please let me know if you do a video on the loc installation. I would love to see your process as well. =)

  • I love seeing black couples taking care of one another. keep up the good work! you make this world a better place :)

  • @gbodkin1 As do you too my friend. Thanks for the comments!

  • what products did you use the first time to help keep it stay up and how long did take for it to loc?

  • @cherrypops3 When he first started his locs a small amount of beezwax was used only for the first couple of washes. THen we just kept his hair clean and sectioned into the original loc pattern for about 6 months. By that time his hair was completely locked on the top. the sides took a little bit longer. As for products, after the beezwax we didn't use much other than the simple scalp oil (hairdress). We didn't pay a lot for products we just bought whatever was on sale or low-cost hair pomade.

  • I wish all Blacks would see this video, and they'd know that our natural hair rewards us with amazing length when we honor it by not using perms and relaxers.

  • @MonsieurMercredi Your comment is very much appreciated. Thank you for watching =) I believe we (human beings) should take more time to honor ourselves and forgive ourselves when we venture away from our natural progression. Life is short love is forever and ever!

  • Hmmm...that's a thought. But even when I washed less frequently, it was a prob. But I'll definitely look into tea tree oil and co-washing. Thanks!!

  • Love the vid, BC. Thanks for sharing. Do you have any recommendations for combating dandruff? My locs are 5.5 years old. The only thing that has really helped is weekly washing, but that is sooooo time-consuming. I've been searching forever for a way to treat my scalp in between washes. Thanks for any suggestions!

  • @angelajbass I am not an expert but I have heard that teatree oil helps with dry scalp. I know this might sound weird but do you think washing so frequently could be making the problem worst? I have heard that if you suffer from dry scalp, moisturizing and alternative washing (i.e. co-wash with moisturizing conditioner) is a good alternative to shampooing your hair. I'll keep my eyes open for you. Thanks for your comments.

  • awwwww you guys are so cute together. how long have you been married? your locs are beautiful and so are his. do you guys maintain each others or do you maintain yours and his?

  • @shyshybaby08 Thanks, we just celebrated our 25th and maintain our locs ourselves exclusively. He does mine and I do his most of the time. I have recently cut mine to start a new set so I am wearing extensions until my length gets where I want it to be.

  • @BcPrettyGirly i hope my relationship gets to where yours is one day. i started my 1st set a month and a half ago. i'm excited about the journey to come. good luck with your new set. i hope it looks as nice as your previous one. - peace and blessings.

  • @shyshybaby08 TY so much. I will keep posting as I continue my journey.

  • Your two are a beautiful couple. I love black love. I want to thank you for this video, it helped me a lot. I went to whole food ands got these ingredients for my hair. Thank you so much. Have a beautiful day.

  • @Hisuga65 You truly honor us with your presence/comments. Thank you from our deepest roots (((HUGZ)))

  • You two are a beautiful couple and your locs.....Gorgeous! What's the brand of oil you used?

  • @bmjm1974 Thanks for the compliment. Basically, I make my own oil for his locs. It's a combination of three types depending on what we feel his hair is in need of at the time. The oils can be bought at any health food store and the ones we use are: Almond oil, olive oil, avocado oil, and vitamin E oil.

  • How long have ur husbend growing his locs?

  • @Mrnmayse 17yrs but he has cut them a few times =)

  • @BcPrettyGirly Wow. I only been going mine only for 3 yrs.

  • @Mrnmayse You will be surprised at how fast time fly's. Soon you will have the locs you desire and more =)

  • @ 5:14

"She beat me!" lmao!!!! sorry bruh

  • @IZionDawta lol thx

  • @deemiddle What a wonderful thing to say. I will make sure I tell him to read this. THANKS =)

  • great job!

  • @miel001 Thanks!

  • how many years did it take to get to that lenght (his) @bcprettygirly

  • @MrSimmmi If memory serves me correctly it took approx. 7 years just to get to this length

  • @BcPrettyGirly OMG, I just saw my typo here...17 years (seventeen)...hahahah

  • WOW sis, you have your hands full -literally- but hubbies hair looks great. You did an amazing job. I'm loc'n and lov'n it... almost 2 years... but my biggest pet peeve is lint... I go off (not really) when I spot lint... LOL... Question: How does hubby avoid lint because his hair looks beautiful at the ends. Also, how often do you wash his hair. Thanks for sharing and inspiring! All the best to you/him.

  • @chamogul Thanks for the compliment sis, (((HUGZ))). Lint in locs can be bothersome and for my hubby it's all about preventing the lint from getting in the hair so that we don't have to fuss with getting it out. He wears a scarf most of the time. Another thing you can do is make sure that your bed covers don't shed and if they do wear your scarf when you sleep. Thanks for the comment.

  • His and your hair looks amazing. But I'm kind of afraid for his edges and it looks like his hair has thinned out from either the weight and or the stress of re twisting. Im just saying this out of respect and genuine concern because I have friends whose long locs were a detriment to the overall health of their scalp and edges.

  • @amaximc Great observation! In this vid I have my locs and as you pointed out the stress and aggressive styling that I did along with my thinning hair (due to my age) has made me cut them to start a fresh new set. My husbands locs are pretty good to go. I don't style his hair half as much as I used to style my own. Due to his hair texture, there has to be a certain amount of manipulation in order for his hair to stay together prior to locking. Most of the time, he just washes and "pops" his locs

  • These are the best lock I've seen on the YT! Fabulous video!

  • @ReniiNaturalistaDiva ty I will pass the compliment along 2my hubby lol

  • GREAT VID

  • @cynmille2000 TY we will do another men's hair vid soon.

  • i dont get it his hair isnt thick like mine and its locked up idk whta im oding wrong :(

  • @lesliekeepsonspinin Probably nothings wrong you just need to take a little more time. His hair started locing on the top first then the sides loc'd later. It may take a little more time for you to get the results that you want. Just hang in there.

  • You 2 brought a smile to my face. You're a beautiful couple.

  • @PositiveNature awwh,,, thank you for that wonderful comment. Since we inspired your smile then let us leave you with this GREATEST WISH..."May your smile brighten the souls of many who gaze upon it!"

  • Both your locs are beautiful and i love his length. I now semi free form as twisting to regular makes them look a bit thin due to texture.

  • @DollyMat I am actually growing a second set (I damaged my locs with aggressive styling and over maintenance). I don't think that I will twist much at all this time...if any. Thanks for your post.

  • He has some thick dreads what method did he start his dreads with?

  • @sonyadeven He did them the old fashion way :-) He just stopped combing hid hair then kept the coils seperated

  • How long did it take for your boo boo hair to lock with that texture. I have soft texture too and it took a year for the back to lock and the friont is still locking after 14 months.

  • @supervirtuouswoman Gosh! I have to think back because he has very loose curly hair in the back and on the sides then he has tighter curl patter in the front and at the crown. So I have to say that within 6 months the top part of his hair was locked. The sides were next then the back took forever and there are still some portions by the nape of his neck and at the hairline in the back that are still locking very slowly. If you take a look at 1:36 you will see that I gather quite a bit of hair.

  • I subbed. Wish i could learn to palm roll. I use needle. Having problems!

  • i wish mines get that long...mines alittle under half of his length

  • @MrGizzymarley They will grow beyond your dreams just keep going :-)

  • @BcPrettyGirly lol..Thx Mrs. Lady

  • @MrGizzymarley You are very welcome!

  • Not only is his hair long but he has a lot of locs!! Bless your hands you deserve a hand massage after that!!!

  • @GodivaBeauty Lol, you are certainly RIGHT about that. Thanks for the blessing my hand really appreciate it.

  • u r 2 BEAUTIFUL ppl

  • @tummielvr Your statement gives new meaning to the old saying "It takes one to know one" so you are beautiful as well. Thanks for your compliment and thanks for watching.

  • I love his hair..and u work very fast...did u use clips as u went along?

  • @blowsbabymama His hair is fun to work with because it's so long. I didn't need clips as I went along because the length keeps the twists pretty in tact. Thanks for your comment :-)

  • @BcPrettyGirly It does look like his hair would be a lot of fun to style..like u said theres so much hair and Im sure theres so much to do with it You all are a very handsome couple..and ur dreads are beautiful as well

  • yall r so cute!

  • @thickypeachy Thanks hun :-)

  • I had no idea this was the technique!! I love your locs and color!! You did a great job on your hubby too! He has serious hang time!! So happy I subbed:)

  • @OurLadyLourdes Thanks, and I am happy you subbed as well. Glad you like my hair and color. Just finished doing one of my daughters color as well. Maybe I can take some pics of her hair to post here because it came out soooo pretty.

  • his hair texture is so curly! i don't know what i would doifmy locs were as long as either of yours! You did an awesome job on his retwist. about how long did it take you to do it? y'all are too cute!

  • @poosmo it took about 30 min. to complete the retwist. Thanks for the compliment too.

  • Both of your locs are beautiful. Did you start yours and hubby?

  • @teddygirl52 Thanks, he actually started mine :-)
