Just to touch base - Occupy Dayton was about six people, most of whom appeared to have never missed a meal (I don't know, it seemed odd that obese people would have something to protest about). Where I live, our state's behavioral health planning council is offering trainings to all first responders, to assure they know better how to treat folks with disabilities and challenges. These recruits may be graded on 5 questions but they still undergo an extensive background check, polygraph test, psych evaluation, they have to make it through the police academy and then pass the OPOTA state test. If they are not qualified they will be eliminated from the process. The officers don't want sub par guys working with them. Cops are human and are not perfect.

Just to touch base - Occupy Dayton was about six people, most of whom appeared to have never missed a meal (I don't know, it seemed odd that obese people would have something to protest about). It didn't even make the local media, and this is a town where car accidents are on the evening news. This was as embarrassing as it deserved to be. Hang your head.

This is all so crazy. We have plenty of respectable, educated, minority citizens in Dayton Ohio. Why lower testing standards to get more minority cops? Why not make more of effort to make the job more appealing to minorities? Why not try to improve the Dayton police forces image? Why don't cities make more of effort to recruit a better class of public servants from all ethnic backgrounds?

Eric ("my people") Holder - the US attorney general hired by Oobama told Dayton police dept. to drastically lower the test score acceptance limit so they can get more black cops. The reason for the "interview" is to be sure they are black. This is an insult to blacks.
Complaining to the police is for suckers. Complain to the mayor and Holder - they're the ones handing out the awards and forcing more stupid cops on people. The good cops are being victimized by the Holder/Obama machine too

Police deal with situations that most here would never want to. I am not a cop. I know they are not perfect. But I respect what they do for the community. Sorry, to spoil the parade. These recruits may be graded on 5 questions but they still undergo an extensive background check, polygraph test, psych evaluation, they have to make it through the police academy and then pass the OPOTA state test. If they are not qualified they will be eliminated from the process. The officers don't want sub par guys working with them. Cops are human and are not perfect.
