I was driving an enduro car car at Caraway Speedway the same night this happened. A fuel cell got ruptured that night and caught on fire. The guys at the track took a 59 ford fire truck jumped out with shorts on and put the fire out like it was nothing. What you don't see in this clip is that the fireman started spraying the fire at the bottom of the track while Gary was burning at the top. I guess he was trained that way (no common sense).When I saw the clip I was screaming spray the driver!!!!

As I recall, there is (was) an automatic shutoff that keeps fuel from flowing out of the tank when the car is upside down - but because of the angle the car was hung at, the shutoff didn't work, allowing a major fire. I believe that since then, the shutoff has been changed.

What they don't show in this video is that both cars became fully involved in flames. I'm actually surprised that you're not smart enough to know that some sparks mixes with many gallons of racing gasoline will make a lot of fire. Wow.
