  • Games Galway is such a fantastic flute player. maybe faster isn't better, but it shows, how good he is. his technic is as perfect as no one others. Or who could play this wonderful song as fast as him without any mistakes?!

    They are natural, technologies are not. BTW musicians are very innovative, but very devoted to traditions.

  • waaaay faster than almost any other version of the song I've heard. So much faster, it's pushing that boundary between "musician's artistic perogative" and what the composer originally intended... but, then again, what do I know? Besides, Bach's been dead for a while now. He probably won't mind.

  • Playing it like that is like rushing through a divine meal or a quality bottle of wine - you still get the quality but it's harder to appreciate when it's stuffed down you.

  • alright he has a good technique but this is just a stupid display of virtuosism.He's only showing off and commiting the same mistakes that people of barroque's age commited concentrating on the virtuosism and not caring about the feelings.Nice song by the way.I love Bach

  • This is not a piece that sounds so great slower. This pieces excitement is increased by the speed, and that is what is important here. If the speed prevents a nuance you could complain, but he has more expression and nuance at this speed than others can even give us going slower.

  • @topolinik galway is very talented. I agree this wasn't my favorite interpretation of this movement, though if you look at the cecil chaminade concertino, he performed it flawlessly

  • @AbrahamSmith102093 I know the the Galway's interpretation of Chaminade concertino. Very beautiful and amazing sound. Galway is a terrific artist, I know.

    But I prefer J.P.Rampal for the Baroque repertoire.
