Games Galway is such a fantastic flute player. maybe faster isn't better, but it shows, how good he is. his technic is as perfect as no one others. Or who could play this wonderful song as fast as him without any mistakes?!
@MucusFelidae Wow, you're going to down on instruments? Go back to your stupid video game, kid. And what the hell is an electrical air pump? The thing about instruments is that they take practice and skill, which I can assume you have none of since you think we should conform to your ridicuous ideas. Our instruments aren't 'stone-age' instruments. Stone-age is hitting two bones together and moaning. You really are an idiot, and learn to spell. Catzy, really? What the hell is that supposed to be?
waaaay faster than almost any other version of the song I've heard. So much faster, it's pushing that boundary between "musician's artistic perogative" and what the composer originally intended... but, then again, what do I know? Besides, Bach's been dead for a while now. He probably won't mind.
I know that Bach is laughing with James. He's saying, Ach so! I never new zat mein piece could go at zat schpeed. Vell done Herr Galvay! Or possibly not!
Playing it like that is like rushing through a divine meal or a quality bottle of wine - you still get the quality but it's harder to appreciate when it's stuffed down you.
alright he has a good technique but this is just a stupid display of virtuosism. He's only showing off and commiting the same mistakes that people of barroque's age commited concentrating on the virtuosism and not caring about the feelings.Nice song by the way.I love Bach
This is not a piece that sounds so great slower. This pieces excitement is increased by the speed, and that is what is important here. If the speed prevents a nuance you could complain, but he has more expression and nuance at this speed than others can even give us going slower.

But I prefer J.P.Rampal for the Baroque repertoire.

Why not connect an electrical air pump to the flute?
We live in a technological advanced society, only musicians work with stone-age instruments. That's catzy.
MucusFelidae 2 weeks ago
@MucusFelidae These "stone-age" instruments are more advanced then you think.
They are natural, technologies are not. BTW musicians are very innovative, but very devoted to traditions.
