I don't understand why so many people say that Sandra Bullock didn't deserve her Oscar. OK, she did beat out the great Meryl Streep for her role as Julia Child but 'The Blind Side' was a completely different role for Bullock who normally stars in romantic comedies and to play the sort of role that she did and to pull it off, it's understandable why she would win

To be honest, after I watched "The Blind Side" I can say that Sandra's performance was good but this doesn't mean that she deserved to win. Her fellow nominees performances was so much better than her. So, she is the least person in that category to think about winning. I think Marion Cotilard in Nine deserved her Slot.

Sandra has been a top box office draw for many years, and that is saying something. There are a lot of one-shot winners who win for their first real film role, and then fall away to obscurity. Sandra is a deserving winner, and Maryl is too, which is why she has been nominated seemingly every year. I'm happy with it.
I watched Julie & Julia...it was like the film version of Paula Deen, so I pass'd on it to watch the Blindside. Great movie and great message overall. I didn't get a great message from Julie/Julia besides she never wanted to meet Julie and reported that info in the San Francisco paper instead of telling her on the phone or face to face.

Best acceptance speech ever. Heartfelt, funny, honest, and true to her spirit. The only reason Jesse had tears in his eyes is because he saw the amazing person he was about to lose... too bad for him!

Don't get me wrong, I love Sandra, but I really do think that Gabby or Meryl deserved it more for their performances.
Meryl just blew people's minds with Julia, and Gabby did outstanding in such a difficult emotional role, and for her age, it's amazing.
I like Sandra's speech though, I like how she honoured the other actresses, too.

Sandra is the type of woman who is honestly humble, and constantly thinks: yeah, that nomination is lovely, but win? Me? Nah, that's not gonna happen. So I think she had some difficulty trying to find the right mindset to deal with the fact that she'd actually won.

But when you actually *do* fool around with other people, you *do* know it will hurt the one you're with, and that is an unloving act. And it shows you have little respect for your spouse - because there is no way you *can* behave like that if you truly and honsetly love and respect the person.

Best acceptance speech ever. Heartfelt, funny, honest, and true to her spirit. The only reason Jesse had tears in his eyes is because he saw the amazing person he was about to lose... too bad for him!
On another note.. her part about the Mothers taking care of the babies no matter where they came from makes so much sense now that we know she adopted a baby!
