Okay, I can't take this anymore. Why do many poker announcers refer to a 3 as a "tres" (tray)? What is wrong with using the number "three" to refer to it? Not all poker announcers do it, and I much prefer it when they don't use "tres" to refer to a 3. It's a 3, call it a 3. Do they think they're confusing people if they call it a 3, or what?

It's just this thing with "tres", it sounds so unnatural. Like, it's no big deal if someone says he has "quads" instead of "four of a kind". That makes perfect sense. And "pocket aces" can also be "pocket rockets" or "bullets", no problem. It's just that "tres" thing that they refer to it that way on the board.
