I always wondered, and I still wonder, what happened to the bass in this tune. This is the same recording as the ”Encore!” album, the live album from their 1966 Japan tour, released in early 1967. The bass sounded great on all the other tracks of that album, like La Bamba, 007-11, Yozora No Hoshi (夜空の星) and others, but it seems like something happened to it when they played Wipe Out.
