  • 23:47 I got one of these thinking it was a fun show blade, it's weight has not stopped me from making it my EDC blade. Nutnfancy please review the Sub Hilt Vallatton. It is awesome.

  • 8:00 yeah this really is knife porn. Nevertheless, enjoying the catalog reviews, please keep them coming.

  • The squeak is Italian.

  • Where did you get this

  • Spyderco's are my fav

  • I wish I could just check one off and get it at the door, lots of good knives in their.

  • gah i wish i had money but my car needs 285 dollars in repairs and my wage this week was 275...i hate bein 16 with no money...

  • @nutnfancy

I love the excellent marker sound effects

  • Cant wait for the review on the Junior, I have had mine for about a month and I am loving it so far.

  • I really like that Lion Spy but It's supposed to be really expensive...

  • @butthurtginger Cheers i am , hey as long as the cheap bourbon does the job then its good enough mate =], have a good one and be safe

  • @butthurtginger i was talking about the many knife makers here in Australia and Europe that i known and speak with often, that compare the N690co and VG10 when making and using blades. Most have stated that in constructing blades and then using said blades N690co is closer to VG10 (than N690co is to 440c) in performance, wear and re-sharpening, not only in its construction. (forgive my piss poor typing as it is Midnight here and iv been making a decent hole in a Bottle of Bushmills =)

  • @butthurtginger well just about all the info i have seen and heard about always comparies N690co to VG10 etc rather than 440c, nothing wrong with 440c, but N690co is much more compariable to VG10 than 400c in both properties and use.

  • I see some more blades being added to the wishlist.

Thanks for the great review bro!

  • I love Spyderco too, thanks for the vid! I just requested a catalog from them. Maybe I should equip a sharpie in the bathroom...

  • love the vid nutn. keep up the hard work!!!

  • Sweet video... Sweet knives... Funny guy... Great work Nutn... What ever happened with that T.V guy filming you... Is there going to be a program coming soon... It'd be Kewl seeing you in action on prime time..

  • Very col. I like seeing how the Nutn thought process goes. Thanks for sharing!

  • N690 is a German 440C...

  • @cutlerylover FYI Its Austrian not German, thats like calling America Canada, similar but different countries.

440-c 1.2% carbon, up to 18% chrom, up to 1.2% moly.

    N690co is 1% carbon, 17% chrom, 1.5% cobalt, 1.1% moly, and 0.10 vanadium.

VG10 is 1% carbon, 15.5% chrom, 1.5% cobalt, 1.2% moly, and up to 0.30 vanadium. So its actualy closer to VG-10 than 440C.. (Im not trying to be a smartarse CL, Im just stating facts is all)

  • I want that Vallotton!!!

  • Hey nut you mentioned Warren Cliff blade shape, I was wondering if you could talk more about that? I am curious about the pros and cons as you know them. I did a google search and really couldn't find any good information on the blade style. I understand you are real busy with the project but would you know of a good source that I can learn more about blade styles and the POU of the various styles? I've already learned a good deal from watching your reviews, thanks!

  • @jamesb18c5 If you look for a YTer by the name of WeAllJuggleKnives and look thru his play list he has some good vids explaining different blade shapes and uses, hope this helps =]

  • I have a Byrd Robin FRN. Picked it up at Cabelas for $15 bucks and i love it! Just as sharp as the day i got it! And i use it A LOT! For a cheep knife its great!

  • Catalog reviews are seriously dangerous for my wallet : ) Love it brother, great to see one of these again

  • How do you review a catalog? This is silly.

  • How do you review a catalog? This is silly.

  • ...thumbs down for slapping retarted puppies.

  • I love nutnfancy, I love TNP, I love jimping... but the way nutn' says "jemPaing" makes me want to slap a retarted puppy. Probably just too many years of hearing it. I can say with full support though, that I love to hear about "phosssshsfer bronshssss bushssangs"! lol, Seriously though, these reviews are GREAAAAAAAAT! Nutn, your style is all your own, and we wouldn’t want these vids delivered any other way. Keep em' coming.

  • Another good vid. Maybe to clear up some confusion people seem to have, a better name for such vids would be "Spyderco Catalog Knife Picks" vs review? Pick implying they are worth watching/looking at per your requirements.

  • I was just wondering if you could do a full review of the sog jungle primitive or another wicked looking cost effective knife mainly because i love the look of them, there's no decent review of them on youtube and where i live they are hard to get at in the shops.

  • I WANT THE SZABO FOLDER !!!!!

  • pure knife porn, i like!

  • wow I want that Chicago, one of the few knives we can own here

  • Bummer on the Yojimbo 2 :(

  • Great channel

  • Best Sharpie sound effects EVER!

  • haven't bought any new knives for months, as an edc and for short outdoor trips I usually carry my good ol' spidy tenacious, yes i can open and close it without cutting myself :p

  • great video nutn, did you notice the clip on the dragon fly salt looks like it has rust on it. :[

  • Great video as ALWAYS, Nutn!! :)

  • Uh oh gunna be broke

  • nice video

  • I'll probably end my 2011 knife buying spree with the Lionspy whenever my local retailer gets it. Damn expensive but I can't resist.

And I can't wait for 2012 to roll around. This knife collecting is fun.

  • the valloton sub-hilt costs around € 250 - € 300 in germany ($ 330 - $ 400). so 160 bucks is not that pricey ;)

  • Orgasm at 7:57

  • some nice knives i would add to my collection

  • @nutnfancy at some point you do a receiw on the spyderco paramillitary 2

  • The downside for the byrd Tern is that there is no lock...it's a slipit design...bummed...

  • interesting add before yer vid....looks like a c00L movie.

  • LOL "...excitement level dropping on page 1"

  • 7:58 Orgasm

  • Comment removed

  • That Valloton sub hlt folder looks awesome, Ever since your review on the Spyderco Navajah I have been wanting one.......Too bad they are discontinued :(

  • lol nutn seems really giddy and excited in this video like hes on a sugar high or something

  • Love your videos, Excellent information! I would like to mention that the way to get USA working again is to buy things made here, not elsewhere. I understand the value issues, and respect them, but I choose to invest in my brothers and sisters here, and sometimes, I pay more. I hope they hire my grandkids.

  • Man, the Junior must feel great in the hand. Rock on, Nutn.

  • I swear I am hearing a subliminal message to buy these knives?

  • @AquaAnim spyderco knives sell on themselves. you didn't hear any subliminal messages.

  • @MrVegaslive Hence why I was obviously kidding.

  • The Ed Shemp looks like an Indian Kukri blade. VERY effective knife for heavy chopping.

  • is that the nutnfancy hand on the catalog cover?!

  • your opinion on the yojimbo 2 is out in left field

  • Benchmade 930-92 Osborne - Hakkapella Damasteel Blade & Handle - serial #131

  • @barehandedbearhunter thats a sweet lookin knife, only found one price on it and it was 1090!!! a little out of my price range, nice knife though

  • @silverbullet211 Yea very pricey. im thinkin about buying one with the money i make from bootcamp

  • @barehandedbearhunter what branch are you goin in, and when do you ship out?

  • @silverbullet211 The navy. Im going to be a corpsmen. I leave for bootcamp in may. trying to leave asap though.

  • @barehandedbearhunter nice, i leave for the marines in october

  • can you review the KEN BROCK G10 NECK BEAST BLACK

i found it on mattdtactical (dot) com

  • yojimbo also a fighter

  • The Lionspy is cool, but the MSRP is $500.

  • around time 16:00 that seems more a fighter style knife then camp knife

  • catalog reviews rock!

  • Hey Nutn! Let's see what you think of the Benchmade 860bk Bedlam!

I carry 2 every day (1 plain on right side, 1 serrated left side) and want to see what you think of them (although I have a feeling I already know you're gonna complain about the weight)

  • i have the h1 dragonfly and i love it

  • Great video dude, still curious if your going to review the Byrd Cara Cara 2 and Meadowlark 2

  • @nutnfancy the handle is skeletonized on the S Rock very well I might add. I love the VG-10 steel too but... :) u find it is very prone to scratching, have you noticed that? Anyway I have yet to chop with it but will be getting fire wood soon enough. Have a great day! Oh how's Allie?

  • @nutnfancy great video! The Shempp Rocks FRN handles are comfortable but... The volcano pattern grip, which I love, doesn't extend far enough up and down the scales which makes it kind of slick in the hand because the rest of the FRN is very smooth. It's thumb ramp is great buy the front finger choil has jimping that is useless because the FRN isn't tapered back fat enough

  • Damn you Nutn, showing me all these cool knives! Now my wife is going to kill me when I come home with a sack full of them!

  • Spyderco, overpriced and ugly IMO.

  • @LedZeppelin13k7 yup I love my delica but more for function than looks

  • Thumbs up for Romania !

  • Is there anytype of promo code from nutn if we buy from the Cutleryshoppe?

  • Good to see a box by the LionSpy! I'd be interested in a more thorough review of it. I have a Lion Steel SR1 and while I do have a couple complaints, it's just so freakin' cool! Heh heh.

  • Nice Catalog view . was hoping there was a review on the police or the military blade .

  • Why in gods name did Spyderco not send me the new catalog yet?

  • Hey nutnfancy I saw you at the gunshow.

  • Great videos an reviews of products! Keep up the good work!

  • Love the sound effects

  • Spyderco Squeak --- 60-65€ ---- that's 80-90$

Still consider it at that price??

  • @colla555 it'll be cheaper than that for the US market, us Europeans always pay more :(

  • Comment removed

  • Cool vid Nutn, thanks for going back to your "TNP roots" with the catalog reviews. I'd love to see one for Cold Steel, partly because I'm really interested in your thoughts on their new Leatherneck SF knife!

  • i want to party with this guy thumbs up if u agree

  • 7:59 "OooOooh!"

  • the spyderco squeak is actually made in italy

  • Loved this catalog review!

  • " tip down, thats jacked up!" lol

  • Nutn, Cutlery Shoppe has raised their prices on a lot of items ever since you endorsed them. NOT COOL. Jeff is not doing us a favor by doing this.

  • @PRSpl4yer never mind the fact that if you live oversea's you need to order a min of $100 worth of blades before they will even quote a shipping cost =[

  • my spyderco delica 4 ffg is the best knife ive owner. thankx to you nutn.

  • I was just thinking about the kniife collection u must have. and thought how its probably ridiculous. But then i thought about how acomplished you are and about the capacities youve served and thought "man he deserves it".

  • Comment removed

  • Love the catalog review. Great to see some knives I haven't seen b4

  • Are we gonna see a cold steel leatherneck review nutn?

  • Added the Squeak to my two Ukpk's recently. Love this little spyderco. Happy to carry it here in the UK. Well under the 3" blade limit.

  • I really want the Lion Spy, but it cost over 300 dollars and peaks at around 500.

If I spent 300 dollars on a knife, I'll have to eat it.

  • How do you feel about the Persian 2's?

  • Junior looks good... my fave though has to be the ED Schemp. That´s on my list for a long time

  • It sucks i like Spyderco blades and i have a tenacious but all my knives that arent coated in something seem to rust within a few weeks of owning them. I guess its just my climate

  • So hold on, you're giving reviews on items you haven't physically tested??

  • @liltomato We get tons of requests for the catalog reviews but they are not a huge part of the Project. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy Hey nutnfancy I'm looking for a budget 1911 and I found the Rock Island Armory 1911 and I was Wondering if you would recomend it for a budget 1911. Also could you make a review on it if you get a chance.

  • @liltomato I feel like he made it very clear this was a "first impressions" video on the knives. The boxes were not knives he recommended but rather knives he would want to test.

  • @liltomato Reading comprehension is hard. Right there in the description: "catalog review." Complex, I know.

  • @FTingB Sorry guys, I was half listening and half working while listening to the video and feel like a prompt jerk off. Thank you for digging it in, I deserved it. My apologies again.

  • Hey Nutnfancy, which single knife, or at least type of knife would you recommend for long term survival? I.e. ultra durable, low/easy maintenance, rust resistant etc. Sorry if it's kind of off topic.

  • Nutn, have you heard anything about the manix 2 lightweight? They had it at shot show and said it was supposed to come out in summer but I haven't seen it anywhere.

  • Awesome catolog review Nutn, gota love Spydies!, have to admit i wrote down pretty much all your recommendations, some are lill pricey, but all look sweet! keep up the outstanding work, best wishes and be safe bro, Whiskey Delta Nutn!

  • the squeak is italian produced and sports the n690 steel which is comparable to vg 10

  • your "sounds" and "special effects" are just hilarious :-)

  • Support comment

  • i get exited when i see nutnfancy and spyderco in the same sentence in my subscription box:)

  • the ed shemp looks like a pelican at first lol

  • I love spydercos (byrd) knives, thumb holes are the easiest to deploy knife design, only one faster is the thumb flipper like on the Kershaws. However I do like the stainless steel knives but not for carry, but for collection and I think that is why they made, for those of us who put them in collections, imo.

  • Dragonfly Salt H1 sure is a great fishing knife to always carry!

  • hey aussie TNPers, a little tip! sucks Spyderco seem to be hard to get in Aus hey :( I got a few from within Aus here Swarm Retail on eBay and have been very happy

  • @wickedlasers thanks for the tip, Seem ok except for the price mate, $70 for a Tenacious?!? i got mine from the US for $55 including shipping...

  • @TheDishD yeah the only thing is Spydercos are falsely, though OFTEN confiscated by customs as flick knives. Happened to me and many others *sigh*

  • @wickedlasers bad luck on that mate, iv imported 4 Ten's so far and had each of them inspected ( got the lil bits of paper to say they looked at them) and then customs sent them on with none confiscated. Rat 1's i have had taken but i just got a permit to import and they gave it back. If i importy a blade which might get taken, i do is ask the seller to tighten the pivot point so they cant be opened easy and they pass inspection.

  • And finally, note that I categorize "self defense knives" differently from "fighting knives" or "combat knives." Self defense knives are generally smaller, lighter and have a finer grind. They are meant for a ONE TIME LAST DITCH USE. A fighting/combat knife has a thicker grind; it sacrifices cutting performance to gain durability. These kinds of knives are intended for MULTIPLE COMBAT ENCOUNTERS, often with no time between encounters to sharpen/repair the edge.

  • Am i the only one to get a pen and paper to write dwn nutn' recommendation? =]

  • @TheDishD lol no, I've done it too. : P

  • When we consider the fact that your self defense knife will probably never see a single use in the self defense role, but will likely see hundreds of uses as a utility knife (Simply because you've always got it with you), we begin to see why any good self defense knife should also have plenty of utility capabilities. Otherwise you will stop carrying it in favor of some other self defense knife which is also quite good at utility (Spyderco Military is an example off the top of my head).

  • .. AND utility. That is where the Yohimbo fails in my opinion, it's utility value is low. The wharncliff blade is EXCELLENT for stabbing, I mean simply EXCELLENT. Stabbing is what causes the most severe/deadly wounds. Here's where the next issue comes up. What is the purpose of a self defense knife? Is it to kill? I submit that it's not. It's main goal is to stop the attack. Killing may be a side effect of its use, but the goal is really to disable the attacker physically or psychologically.

  • The aluminum versions of the Lion Steel SR1 are significantly lighter than the Titanium versions. I don't know if they're lighter than the Lion Spy though, because that only has half of the handle in titanium and the other half in G-10.

As far as the Yohimbo, I think it's a great PURE self defense knife. The problem is that, for me, a good self defense knife must also be a good utility knife. I can't carry 50 knives around, so the knife I always have on me should be capable of both defense ...

  • i think you should change box, squiggle, X, and change it to =) smile, meh =/ and nope =[

  • Crap! Was hoping to see the Spyderco Techno... even though I already know it won't be out till early next year. Still just had to hold on to my hope that I'd see it mentioned in this vid. The LionSpy is cool... but feel it would become a safe queen. I'm no longer collecting safe queens anymore. I've actually sold some knives, my psychiatrists say's I'm making great progress!!!

  • ... man bug? sounds kinda dirty

  • Cool knives for sure. Hey Nutn, Question..I see very little Boker in the project. Any reason? The Magnum series has got me excited. Luke

  • well... you basically can't go wrong with a Spyderco, what else can I say?

(except maybe that bastard sprint run of 170$ small fly : / )

  • Thanks for the solid info! Very help as always!

I've made SO MUCH progress on my gear!

  • Thx for the review nutn...

  • Love the progression with TNP but love these classics

  • Cool video Nutn! BUT a year passed and you never mentioned the Paramilitary 2 in any review. The knife community loves it, I love it, but I'd like to hear your two cents about it! Thanks!

  • mmmmm, i see shineys. <3 nutn, gread vid. thanks

  • Haha I'm viewer 293. Youtube, this time I win.

  • nutnfancy vids at 3 am always a win

  • 7:58 Jizz in my pants.

  • Can you do a review on the emerson-opener Delicas and Enduras or a philosophy vid on your take on the different types of openers on knives? Thanks for this vid, I love Spyderco and have bought three of their knives because of your reviews and love them all.

  • i love this! thanks fancy

  • 7:58 DOUBLE RAINBOW ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE SKY OH MY GOSH!

  • Oh yeah, I really dig these catalog reviews. It's like multiple previews/first impressions, all in one video. Thanks for posting Nutn! Looking forward to that Sage review.

  • reviews start at 2:06

  • Rock looks like more of an angle chopper then a 90 degree chopper... maybe more in tune for small branches?

  • When it comes to "second kind of cool," I was pretty disappointed with these knives. Half of them look like they are one step away from having dragon emblems and flames painted on the side. That all being said, Spyderco still has some excellent knives that i would love to own. The Spyderco Tenacious is still one of my favorite EDC knives.

    Good Video, thanks!

  • Yes another knife video and it's spyderco and I just looked at this catalog

  • Spydeeeerco!!!!!!!!!

  • I would not trade my H1 Schempp for the world. it feels very good and crazy fast in the hand. but it is awkwardly marketed as a camp blade, its too light and thin of a steel stock to use in nutn's POU as a camper. Its much more closer to a offensive-defensive blade in my humble opinion.

  • 9:16, 12:22, 15:04.

one of the many reasons i love nutn knife reviews :]

  • Yes spydee time, your one of the first who turn me torse spyderco, got to say, its a insane addiction!!! Spyderco is just a amazing cie, evolving and keep fine tuning their blades. Loved 2011 production of blades in general, hope to see more of those reviews on the way. I was wondering if their is something cooking in the oven smelling like Eberlestock fumes, I'm digging some of their bags!!! Thanks...Lol

  • hey nutn, your videos havnt been showing up in my subscription box lately again

  • @ericsyutubeaccount thanks for letting us know, eric. We have heard that from many people lately. I hope its just a glitch that YouTube is working on, but make sure you are still subbed as we've heard that subs are dropping off the map too. Thanks! -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy woah, I jsut thought there hasn't been a video for a while, but I just checked your channel and I've missed quite a few :(

  • @nutnfancy Yep I've had to re-sub :\

  • squeak has jimping

  • thanks nutnfancy now can we see ur collection of knives jk u probally have a safe just for all of them, lol

  • Nice catalog review! I was just about to have this sent to me. THANKS! :)

  • Street price for that Centofante Memory is $220

  • quick and clean :D

  • hi nutn. i think spydercos vg10 is one of the most overrated steels on the market. i find that probably even bucks 420hc holds better edge then spyderco vg10. and for example fallkniven vg10 core is like day and night compare to spydercos. i guess its the heat treat... wouldnt you agree in your experience? thanks for the great work and videos. be well and stay safe,

    -mike
