@andyhmltn I used my friend's G3 Mac. I was trying to install a router, but oh wait, Macs don't install 3rd party software. So I tried to put linux on it, but it's "open firmware" wouldn't let me install anything off of a usb or any OS that is supported by x86. So in order to install an OS that would allow me to get all the programs I want for free, and allow me to install the router I wanted, I would have to memorize a long list of codes or get an ancient version of linux that works on PPC.

If you had to 'install' your router on your mac then I assume it's dialup from 1990.

It wasn't a router, it was a usb dongle to connect to my router because I have to buy wifi support seperately for that model. What do you mean iPhones can't run 3rd party software?! Have you seen the app store? Everything there is 3rd party.

That's like saying 'Windows is shit because I used to run windows me off my 256MB dell in 2003 and I hated it.' Then you should hate linux. It can't run exe's natively. You can use tools like wine etc but you can use those on mac. The iPhone can't run UNLICENSED 3rd party software dummy. You was the idiot saying OSX can't run 3rd party software LOOOOL.

@B20C0 Pretty much yes. People talking about how they love linux when they've used it for 2 minutes on a seperate partition. I've used linux as a personal OS for a while switching between distros a few times. I used windows for most of my life and have used OSX for about 3 years.

@aaronhanak iChat: Fair enough. Textmate is a text editor but it's got a tonne more features than most windows alternatives. Same with Coda. After effects isn't for the same thing as FCP. It can do maybe 1/3 of the things. I am a web/software developer and graphic designer.

Everyone has a different opinion. I'm used to my mac laptop now, but I occasionally use the family's PC desktop as well. I think macs are better for creative projects and for editing and such, as well as for people who just prefer them. I like PCs too, but mac is more reliable I think. I also think it's easier to use. At least in my experience with them. Both have their pros and cons.
