Yes, I know where they are from, but I didn't see them in your buyers guide unless I missed them when I went to grab a snack. I have to watch this again.
@iaraiza69 Not sure but I think you're referring to the Vietnam era M16 A1 rifle handguard. If memory serves me correctly, it's a triangle shape, instead of the more oval design. Hope this helps.
Im kinda new to guns and I wanted to buy an AR but I had a question, the dude at the local gun shop said you could an AR15 in a whole lot of different calibers, but when I see the lowers they have for sale, none of them specify what the caliber is. How do you know what caliber you're dealing with? Isn't the standard 5.56? Also a lot say 2.23/5.56. Does that mean it shoots both calibers? Do you need a special magazine for each caliber?
@DSMtsi23 i know right! i think that oregonvet guy works at the gunshop here in oregon called The gun room. worst freakin gun shop around. just a bunch of grumpy old dudes that think they know more shit then every one and think theyre better than everyone. i wont be surprised if they go outta business soon with their twice as much as them other store prices.(not exaggerating that either!) lol
@OregonVet you do realize there's no cables actually holding the gun to the rack? he just removes the rifle from the rack. so what if it's cheap? it serves its purpose you moron.
@GunWebsites well thats bullshit, because brits pronounce it how its spelt (the correct way) carbEYEne like PrivateJoker17 said. and since us brits gave you the British language that would dictate that us brits are right in pronouncing it and Americans are wrong! how ever since its only a word who gives a shit how its spelt or pronounced we only need to know that its a shorter version of a weapon.
@Grunt922 I do understand the right to free speech, every other English speaking country has that right as well, but that right has nothing to do with the pronounciation of words, your comment was idiotic. Of course you have the right to pronounce a word the way you see fit, that does not make it the correct way of pronouncing it.
@PrivateJoker17 but they dont have a constitution telling them that and lets face it, if they arent told that then the gov't says hey u cant say that or youll go to jail. but hey what every, im going to say it carbean you say it carbyne, w/e floats your boat.
@Grunt922 It doesn't matter whether it's in a constitution or not, most countries have it written into their law somewhere, also I think this conversation is pretty pointless aha, have a good day :)
@dirtydeedz161 haha yeah i know it's kind of weird i'm from the US and my friends and I pronounce it "car-by-n" but that's in maine up north (close to canada) and it seems that when you see people talk about guns from the west or south like colorado and utah they pronounce it strangely like you said.
@dirtydeedz161 The word comes from the french word "carabine". In French you pronouce "bine" as "bean". For repelling you use a "carabiner".... EVERYONE pronounces it "cara-beaner". A carabiner is named because it is a ring to attach items to another item. Why?....because it was originally used by cavalry troops carrying "carabine" short rifles with rings to attach them to their saddles. Soooooo, to make a long story short... any other pronunciation is wrong.
so i was in between the 6.8 and 6.5, but im really thinking the Grendel with a 18 inch stainless barrel. do you know how reliable the Grendel is? and also just general comparisons about the two weapons in comparison. thanks.
So with the Magpul MOE handguard , i noticed they are very cheap price wise but I hear nothing but good reviews so far. Doesnt one of the MOE vertical grips models attach right to the MOE handguard "without accessory picatinny rail ??? or am I wrong the whole thing on Brownells has me confused. I will be using it on a S&W M&P15a
how much was the one with the triangle guard? Vietnam ear one? I'm considiering buying my first ar-15 and I want it to look like the m16a1's used in Vietnam.. How much would I have to pay for somehting like that?
@militarysims i love it, i think its a really nice handguard, and very sturdy for the price. i also have the AFGII and those two together are awesome. its sturdy, well made, heavy duty plastic. i recommend it. i also got the mapgul illumination kit and that also is an amazing product.
@dills2403 The original AR platform did not have an FA. That was added for reliability issues cause by the jungle and conditions of Southeast Asia and poor maintenance.
daniel defense for me. an omega x12fsp as shown on the video, is as light or lighter than most other 7 inch quad rail handguards. i have a daniel defense ddm4 and the gun weighs in at 7lbs empty and 9 lbs with a loaded 30 round magazine. very impressive considering my debate on purchase was between the colt m4 and the ddm4 and the ddm4 was noticeably lighter than the colt with standard round m4 handguards. i know people have preferences, but at least i gave a reason for mine.
Dont take offense man he was just stating that its over priced. And he happens to be right in this case. Just sayin, dont jump his case unless he starts trying to go keyboard commando on us :~)

Really?
Do you seriously think all things cost the same everywhere?
This is a big country / world..
Think gas.. ever see the same price all across the country?
Retail price is a function of quantity bought, distributor prices, shipping, store overhead, etc
Anyone can sit at a keyboard and comment.. it's another matter to run a successful business for 6 years
Do you go to your local store and complain that you can get twinkies cheaper at the warehouse store?
