@nawzy202 correct me if I´m wrong but doesn´t a stock first/sec gen C63 AMG develop 480bhp/530bhp through a fast shifting automatic? now add the ecu mod and you´re in the 550bhp range depending on the model. and don´t forget the viper engine develops its 400bhp @ zero stress. the engine is nowhere near its limit at 400bhp as those 8.0L are properly built. there´s been an aggressive yet NATURALLY ASPIRATED viper gts pump gas package rated at close to 800 horsepower - never forget that.
@3O2MuStAnG I have seen C63 make 510-520 on ECU but not 550 and yet don't forget even though C is small it weights around 4000lbs which is pretty heavy for its size. Viper is about 600-700LBS lighter. And lets now forget C63 was never meant to go against cars like vipers and 911 or M6 it was design to go against M3 and RS4 and its still can hang with cars like vipers and M5 which is impressive. The new C63 will have around 530hp stock and 570HP with performance package

The 02 viper was, at a minimum, 450hp, 490lbft. And could do a best 1/4 of 11.67, top speed of 202. It's one to like your car, but you can't represent it for something it isnt. For a 4 door it was decently quick. But it couldn't keep up with the corvette or viper.

Good racing is where good engineering comes in. I think most people value the Nürburgring laptime higher than the 1/4 mile. Black series is extremely pretty though.

And the combination of a good driver and a wild car, such as the SRT10 ACR and the ZR1 consequently results in better lap times than in japanese cars. Lap times is a very big deal. Just compare Le Mans with the drag racing world champs or whatever. It's about the lap times.

It was quite an amazing machine in its day, why Mercedes didnt push more out of that god like engine is beyond me. That V6 could handle 600hp+ all day the way it was built. It also had a 14.5psi twin screw.

What I love about technology advancements. Not even 10 years ago there was practically nothing that could touch a Viper. V10 450HP. Now you have 4 door sedans running close with it. Granted a 4th Gen viper would rape the Benz but in general it's very exciting to live in the times we do with huge power being the norm.

Not even close. The 1996 Mustang Cobra could go 13.3 with a really good driver.

People need to understand speed. PLEASE ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN. BMW M1, M3, M5 and M6 are fast and great cars. The Mercedes C63 AMG, S65AMG are awesome beasts. Porsche 911 Turbo, GT2, GT3 and GT3 RS are amazing. How about the Corvette ZR1 and Z06? They are not slow breathers by any means. The Nissan GTR is faster then most cars out there. Speed costs money, question is how fast do you want to go. But in the end, it's all about looks. I'd rather show up in a BMW then a Nissan anyday at my own house.

90s VIPER GTS = timeless, beautiful piece of american big block engineering - and still ass kicking performance!
C63 AMG = produced since 2007 so it´s a relatively new car developing 550+hp (this one as it´s got ecu mod) through an AUTOMATIC
VIPER GTS = around 450hp (as this one got headers) through a MANUAL
german engineering = new car, no shifts, 100 more hp and still losing even with an obvious headstart :)

@320bit And a C5 ZO6 could go 11.9 with a good driver, a Viper would go 11.6 with a good driver. Fastest Dragtimes C32 AMG is a 13.29@105.8. So in other words, the same as a 1996 Mustang Cobra with a good driver. Which, by the way, trapped about 103mph, and ran the same ET. So that means it's SLOWER 0-60, (the cobra is rated at 5.4, but only an idiot quotes an inaccurately measurable time), with the higher trap means it picks up more AFTER 60.

@320bit The cadillac cts-v is the fastest four-door in the world and it has 1:43 around Laguna seca and 7:59 around Nürburgring. GT-R is the fastest four-seater in the world so far and Viper ACR is the fastest two seater (amongst the relatively reasonably priced cars out there). The boss isn't as fast, but that's because it's not as powerful and not as expensive. I'm telling you, GT500 2013 will definately close down on the more expensive GT-R and its times around nordschleife.

The best Mercedes is SLS AMG and it has 7:40 around the ring and 1:38:82 around Laguna Seca (Boss has 1:39:50 and has 125 less bhp and is about 1/5 the price). Viper ACR has 7:12 something around the ring and and only Gumpert apollo (about $400k) and Radical SR8 (have you seen what it looks like!?!?) is quicker. It's the quickest reasonably priced sports car in the world.

@320bit Ok then we are different. I value a RWD car for good drivers, I want a car with a mad back end where you need to be good to get it right. Not just a dummies pedal to the floor type of car where the car drives for you. If you want a good dragracer you can just tune an old volvo and beat just about anything. Good racing is where good engineering comes in. I think most people value the Nürburgring laptime higher than the 1/4 mile. Black series is extremely pretty though.

@320bit A drag race in a Corvette is like rocket science, but if you do it right it'll beat the 4WD GT-R.. And the combination of a good driver and a wild car, such as the SRT10 ACR and the ZR1 consequently results in better lap times than in japanese cars. Lap times is a very big deal. Just compare Le Mans with the drag racing world champs or whatever. It's about the lap times.

Even the 1992 Viper was faster than your precious C32 AMG, and that was "Just" 400hp. Quick Fact. A Viper is 450hp, 490ft-lb, 3300lbs in 2000, with a 345 width rear tire. Now if you think a 350hp V6 in a nearly 3600lb car (not 3400) is faster than a 450hp V10 in a 3300lb car, I want what you're smoking.

It was quite an amazing machine in its day, why Mercedes didnt push more out of that god like engine is beyond me. That V6 could handle 600hp+ all day the way it was built. What I love about technology advancements. Not even 10 years ago there was practically nothing that could touch a Viper. V10 450HP. Now you have 4 door sedans running close with it. Granted a 4th Gen viper would rape the Benz but in general it's very exciting to live in the times we do with huge power being the norm.

@320bit Not sure what you're drinking, but that didn't happen. The C32 AMG was about 349hp, 330ft-lb, in a 3600-3800lb car. The Viper was 450hp and 3300-3400lbs. Sorry, but it wasn't beating the viper. Not saying it was a slow car, just saying much slower than the Viper. In fact, fastest C32 AMG was a 13.29 on dragtimes. Fastest 02 Viper was 11.60s. Not even close. The 1996 Mustang Cobra could go 13.3 with a really good driver.

The C32 runs 13.1s on the quarter mile. If you actually looked stuff up, youd see plenty of information on the performance of the C32 and how it compared to supercars of its day.

People need to understand speed. PLEASE ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN. BMW M1, M3, M5 and M6 are fast and great cars. The Mercedes C63 AMG, S65AMG are awesome beasts. Porsche 911 Turbo, GT2, GT3 and GT3 RS are amazing. How about the Corvette ZR1 and Z06? They are not slow breathers by any means. The Nissan GTR is faster then most cars out there. Speed costs money, question is how fast do you want to go. But in the end, it's all about looks. I'd rather show up in a BMW then a Nissan anyday at my own house.

Vipers still look good, IMO the original design (this one) looks better than the revised design. Dodge/Chrysler just cant stay away from making there cars look like trucks. the next viper (if theres a next) needs to be exotic again. not truck-like

Bentley, Porsche, and Mercedes all make faster sedans. The BMW is impressive but it is not faster than a new cts-v. And all of the above car manufactures make sedans quicker than the cts-v. So really the bmw is way behind now. Even with the new f10, I doubt it will even beat the cts-v. And if it does, it won't be by much.
