I'm 99.99% positive that Dan saw Blair and she looked upset so he was just trying to distract her from watching Chuck be all over someone else. Even if he doesn't care for her, he did a nice thing for her.
And I honestly think that a Blair-Dan friendship is the least likely combination to occur on the show. I mean, Chuck and Dan have come close to a friendship before, but Blair and Dan? Dan's only ever had disdain for Blair.
I think this just re-inforces one of the most important factors in their relationship - their mutual distrust of everyone. Which is what makes their relationship so different, and so refreshing from the Serena-Dan crap we're always getting fed. I love Chuck and Blair so much, especially Chuck, but they're not exactly angels, and I'm actually glad of the little reminder of the evil they're capable of, because it's one of the reasons why I love them.
Blair and Dan remind me SO MUCH Of seth and summer in the OC in this scene !! She always calls him Humphrey, Summer calls Seth "Cohen" . And the way she talked to him was So Summer in Season one xD
The problem in the past is that Blair has often dated men who she can easily pull the wool over their eyes -- Marcus, Louis, even Cameron. Blair needs a partner who can see right through her schemes and still love her despite them.
Chuck and Blair Are beautiful together u can tell just by their eyes that they r in Live with each Other and if they dont get back together the CW willl have so much haterzzz
I like the scene when he gives her the necklace. It reminds of the first time he gave her a necklace. Obviously it was done to mirror the start and end of their relationship. I loved their dynamic during the scene. They really do seem like a long-married couple the way she puts her hair up and he puts her necklace for her. Aagh! Please get back together again!

I'm 99.99% positive that Dan saw Blair and she looked upset so he was just trying to distract her from watching Chuck be all over someone else. Even if he doesn't care for her, he did a nice thing for her.

And I honestly think that a Blair-Dan friendship is the least likely combination to occur on the show. I mean, Chuck and Dan have come close to a friendship before, but Blair and Dan? Dan's only ever had disdain for Blair.

I think this just re-inforces one of the most important factors in their relationship - their mutual distrust of everyone. Which is what makes their relationship so different, and so refreshing from the Serena-Dan crap we're always getting fed. I love Chuck and Blair so much, especially Chuck, but they're not exactly angels, and I'm actually glad of the little reminder of the evil they're capable of, because it's one of the reasons why I love them.

The problem in the past is that Blair has often dated men who she can easily pull the wool over their eyes -- Marcus, Louis, even Cameron. Blair needs a partner who can see right through her schemes and still love her despite them.

I like the scene when he gives her the necklace. It reminds of the first time he gave her a necklace. Obviously it was done to mirror the start and end of their relationship. I loved their dynamic during the scene. They really do seem like a long-married couple the way she puts her hair up and he puts her necklace for her. Aagh! Please get back together again!

So much so, Chuck plans an epic reunion at the top of the Empire State Building in the finale, to let her know how much he loves her. ;-)

@Marreez I'm not sure that a Blair and Dan relationship would be simple with no lies. Their worldviews are so different and Dan is very judgmental. When Blair is vulnerable, Dan may be what she needs to see clearly, but Blair is also scheming and manipulative and loves her life on the UES. If Dan has problems with Serena and her complicated life, how do you think Dan would handle Blair and her vindictive,scheming nature?

As much as I love Blair and Chuck, I've been expecting a Dan/Blair scenario since the beginning-back in season 1 when Blair and Dan talk at her mom's photo shoot. I gotta admit I think it'd be fun to use as just a minor little distraction until Chuck and Blair get back together. Plus, then Blair would've dated all the main guys.
