  • @Leepak1 Well thank you. I'm glad you enjoy my posts!

  • Try biotin, or re-evaluate your products. I know this is waaay late, but it's worked for me.

  • I JUST UPLOADED MY LOC UPDATE, 01/27/11 AND STILL LOVIN IT, THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION!! =)

  • ur locs are lovely ... n u r too cute wow

  • @boishady89 Thank you

  • Check out dreadcap.com and also go 2 youtube and see dread cap review. Thank you and pass it on.

  • u r gorgeous.b patient im currently on 6 months n i cnt wait 2 get 2 ur stage...just embrace each stage in growth bcuz we cnt go bak 1nce r hair grows thru it.thats wat im tryna do rite now.

  • @jamar1209 yeah I have a bit more patience now...but still can't wait for it to get longer so I can do more styles.

  • patience, patience, it will grow longer trust the process

  • @famuchic22 I know...I gotten a little patience since this video although I still wish my hair was longer lol

  • niiceee B.T.W ur cutee :)

  • @GuttaGuns thanks

  • it seems like we have the same hair texture because i've seen your other videos and your hair before looked difficult to lock, kind of like mines. your progress is beautiful and i am going to start dreads

  • @20Tre21 Thank you so much! My hair wasn't very difficult to lock. My hair is very kinky and coarse although many people say it's not. All hair locks even pin straight asian hair. Your hair will look great! Please keep me posted!

  • Whenever I need a little "loc inspiration" I check your videos. I've been following your page since I started 7 months ago. Take care.

  • i dont know if i asked this but how many locs do u have?

  • 105 locks

  • ok quic question , do u have to cut ur hair off when u start dreads off

  • No you don't only if you have some type of chemical like a relaxer in your hair, then most likely you would have to

  • @deerun08 lol no ofcourse not

  • i think interlocing my hair made it grow and ive only had locs 7 months. maybe you should try interlocing.

  • I'm not a fan of interlocking. I like the look retwisted/palm rolled locks better. I have patience, my hair will grow with time. Thanks for watching my videos :)

  • TBey you and your locks are Beautiful I get caught up looking, instead of listening to your videos lol :)

  • also when did your locks first start locking when did you notice the slightes bit og locking? and when did you get buds if you got any?

  • My locks started budding I believe at 3 months or so. They were all lumpy and bumpy for a while. They started really maturing and locking up around month six

  • how often do you retwist?

  • every two to three weeks. Depending on my mood. I need to do it now it's been over 3 weeks.

  • wait so why am i being told not too because of thinning your locks are so perfect. people say once a month but thats too long for me so mines wont thin out from twisting every three weeks

  • u have an infectious personality..ur humble n a natual beauty..i love ur locks! their thickness and length are perfect

  • Thank you so much :) Every month they are looking better and better

  • yeah you are beaurtiful regardless of the length of you dreads and dont worry because they will grow bc having dreads only gets better and better over time

  • Thanks sweetie :)

  • i agree! my hair should be longer too. lol. I ddint start with very short hair either. I'm still delighted with it though! Maybe our hair will get crazy long when it kicks off! lol

  • I came to realize the longer you hair is the more it shrinks. oh well...by next year it'll be shoulder length...I'm waiting patiently lol thanks for watching :)

  • ur right! God bless!

  • Oh and age has a lot to do with how fast your hair will grow. The younger you are the faster your hair will grow. Younger people are more active so their blood probably circulates a lot more. Blood flow is the key to hair growth.

  • I know...I'm getting old so it's not growing as much lol. And I live in NY so it's getting colder now so my hair isn't going to grow as much as it did in the summer. But I have patience, my hair will grow at it's own pace there's nothing I can do about it :) Thanks for your input!

  • Your locs look great. Your hair is a lot longer than you might think but because of the nature of locs they are not growing straight out because they are coiling and curling within the loc. It could also depend on the texture of your hair that is the reason why your growth isn't showing as much. I just hit 2 years and is now starting to notice the growth more than I had in the past. Growth can also depend on many things like diet, stress, climate, and how much maintenance (washing, ie).

  • beautiful! :D

  • Like ur locs dey look good

  • the longer your hair is when you start the more it shrinks

    dont know why

  • Locs go through growth sperts. For awhile it wont look like its movin down, but watch and see. There will be a time when your not thinking about it anymore and others will be asking what are you doing to get it to grow. They grow fast, be patient

  • Taking a daily multi vitamin has made my locs grow fast. I just started taking them about 3 weeks ago and I can see the results already. Also honey is great for hair growth I just started that as well. i started that last week. Keep up the great work!!! Your hair looks great and so does your daughter's hair!!!

  • I already take a multivitamin :( there's no hope for me lol. Honey i've never tried it...I may in the future. Thanks for your comments :)

  • she cute! um growin dredz to dow

  • hey tbey! thanks for posting this video. I will try to get my own loc video up soon. I was wonderin tho... I am in my 7th month of locs and they have already locked up but should I moisturize my locs everyday now?

  • That is a personal preference. I use product sparingly because too much product can cause build up. When I do the maximum would be once or twice a week but on average it's much less than that. Only when my hair feels dry I add an oil.

  • Our locs look very similar. Love ur vids...

  • ladie lol u is soo freakn pretty where da hell u com from lol n dem dreads is supa bad....nice

  • thanks

  • so freakin pretty man!

    u and the locks:D

i cant wait til mines look like dat!

  • Thank you. Yours will come together in no time. You are pretty yourself...you favor my sister :)

  • KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

  • i just started, and my hair is super short compared to yours. i can't wait for mine to get that long...

  • u fine!

  • everybodys hair grows different ... stay focused they look nice but like u did just let them be theyll do what they need to do

  • Thank you :)

  • luvin your locs miss "tbey" ,very full but still so lite looking. you wear them very well, Keep up the good work.

  • Thank you so much!

  • Your locs look great. I'm at almost 10 months. They'll be growing before you know it.

  • You are so pretty, you look like a younger version of my sister. You locs are looking good.

  • Thank you so much! I apprieciate it!

  • I feel the same way about the hair growth issue. Mine grows but doesn't seem like it is. Your locs look great & thick : ) Look forward to your 1 yr update.

  • Your locks are great i just got my twists done u should check out da video there not as long as yours but i hope they get there

  • the salt water helps loc it right? o and about ur length.. do u eat proteins and stuff that will help ur hair grow.. think about the internal aspect :)

  • People say that but I'm not sure if it really does help it lock faster. I don't have the best eating habits but I do take a multi viatmin everyday. I do need to add more veg. to my diet as well.

  • omg i am so happy i am getting my locs done 2morrow but I have to get like all my hair cut off but I am starting high school soon and cant wait to show off my locs

  • Don't worry you'll look great! Please post pics

  • so so fine lol jus had to say that & nice locs. your 1 year mark will be on my bday cool!! XD

  • That IS cool!!!!

  • Lookin good ma!

  • I Love the locs...but i wish i could relate but i think female hairs grow better and faster than males but im in my 6th month and i started out from braids so im hopin to c some progress around this time next year...i just hate that my hair gets so fuzzy so quick....maybe around a week n a half u cant even see my scalp anymore but its all good though

  • That's funny because I think men hair grows way quicker, but the frizz will go away soon. It the next 3 months you'll notice a big diffrence.

  • who u telling...i'm waiting for my hair to grow too...i had so many misconceptions about it reaching my backside within a year i'm still kinda waiting on it...LOL...ur hair looks GREAT btw...dnt u luv not worrying about keeping ur head over the water @ the beach tying it up in humidity...FREEDOM!!! =D...can't wait to c ur year update...take care for now

  • wow ur locs look excellent may i say ur a very beautiful woman keps ur locs goin ill be waitin on ur 1 year

  • Thanks sweetie I apprieciate it :)

  • patience is what I have learn from my loc & my children they both are good teacher

  • Patience.. It will come and if you exercise patience, there is beauty on the other side. I promise!

  • Patience is something i am learning since starting my locks. It a hard lesson to learn.

  • any one in the illinios area willing to do my locs for me my mom refuse and i cant do the middle of my head i really want locs though

  • well when your hair does usually shrinks when you have locs then it gets longer! I think its because locking causes contraction in the hair which makes it to appear shorter.

  • I know...I know...but I didn't think it would contract so much. But I know it won't be long before it grows :)

  • Your hair is fabulous! I know about the growth issue but trust me it will come. Once you start noticing the growth it doesn't stop! You're gonna wake up & be like "where did all this hair come from?"

    Trust me!

    Shalom & Blessings!

  • lol i kno i was just sayin it looks "more" natural

  • hair lookin good without the retwist. look more natural to me

  • thank you :) Even with a fresh retwist locks are still natural;)

  • i luv yur hair!!! jealous az alwayz!!!! :D

  • hair lookin gud as always

ive been washing my hair and not retwisting

them too.i havent retwisted in 2 months and they still look good.i'll be waiting on your one year ;)

  • Thanks as usual :)

  • Hair is lookin real nice. I cant wait til I get to the point where I can go in and out of water w/o retwistin. When I get in water now it wont come out cuz its locked but it will get really frizzy. But keep it up, even though you dont see all your length now it might show once your hair gets more weight and stretches the loc out.

  • Mine still gets frizzy too but the roots don't unravel too much.

  • they are lookin good girl as usual

  • Happy one year Anniversary GurrrL!! I Understand what your saying. I started my dreads with three inches or more hair and I feel my hair should be longer too. Hang in there gurl. Im at month 8. Keep up the videos. Bless.

  • next month will be a year! I'm almost there though :)

  • Damn, time fly...It's almost a year..YAY!! They are gorgeous...I'm at 4 months now...I'm still loving it...I just have no idea what to do for styles since it's not long and it's not short...

  • Nice!!! your locs look good on you. I'm at 3 months now and I had very little progress with my hair texture. My hair only curl on the ends in most parts. I'm gonna stay in there tho.

  • It takes time. You hair will begin to lock over the next couple of months just hang in there :)

  • omg i love your hair!!! makes me want loc's

  • looking good as always

  • they say we go through a shrinking phase, so by December there about it will seem different, ur locks is beautiful though, continue doing what ur doing.

  • Thank you sweetie apprieciate it :)

  • no problem

  • Girl ur locs r very pretty, they r coming along very nicely, I am so looking forward to being able to wash mine whenever I want. u r my inspiration. My other loc inspiration ladies have taken theirs down, fayrn and shawnta.

  • Shawnta took hers down??? I didn't know that. I loved her locks. Well they had them for a long time. I guess they needed a change. Well I believe my locks are a lifetime commitment. I'll continue to posts vids too.

  • The Locs look Gorgeous!!! Very Healthy!!

  • thanx for another update with ur journey...

  • almost there, tbey82! happy 11 months and counting... ;-)

  • I know :) can't wait!

  • wooo 11 months im at 11 months to just never made a video maybe on the year i will

  • you should

  • Nice dreads!!

  • can u get it in pony tail yet?

  • I can put half of it in a ponytail. Not all of it. If my locks were thinner I probably could but because of the thickness it's very bulky.

  • Looking good. Go back to the pics. You'll see how much it realy has grown.

  • I started with long hair and it shorter now too...that condensing is annoying, lol!

  • sucks doesn't it :( but it'll grow back longer in time :)

  • I have watched your vids for inspiration, and sis your locks look great. Your hair is growing. But I know what you mean reg;ing length. I started with 3-4 in hair and it grew like crazy then it just stopped! My sis and her fam have been loc'ed for yrs, & she said my hair will go into a resting and locing phase and seem to not grow much then all of a sudden it will grow and I will be suprised at how fast it will happen. hang in there.

  • I love ur locs :-)

  • those locks are beautiful

  • YOU GOT AN ACCENT COOL I LIKE IT

  • your hair looks great girl....

the growth will come in due time, but i totally understand

like you, i started with like 5 or 6 inches of hair and i feel like it isn't growing,

but patience is the key when it comes to having locs

and that is something im still working with lol

  • I know I have to be patient it can be so hard at times, but I can only move forward at this point. Although on my vids I tend to only talk about the physical aspects of my locks, but it has taught me so much on a mental/spiritual level as well.

  • I cant wait to get to da point where I can wash my hair without retwistin rite away.. Im 6months loc'd n still fighting with frizz @ times.

  • I still deal with frizz but it's a lot easier now. It's only a stage. It gets better fast.

  • Beautiful!!!

  • You look great! I didn't see any growth until after about 15 months! Other ppl could see the growth but I couldn't. They kept reminding me that my locs had to compact and grow out before they grew down. I'm just a little over 2 years now and I still don't feel like they have a lot of length, but when I look back at old pics, I can see the growth. :~)

  • I love your locks I hope it does start to grow in the next several months. I'm planning a trip to jamaica in Jan 2010 and I want my hair fuller and longer so it'll be easier to style by then.

  • i love your hair like tha!

  • your locks are so beautiful sis

  • One more month to go, congrats. I so can't wait to go to the beach. I have'nt been there yet. That tat is hot, makes me want to get another one lol.

  • I wish i could wash mine and not retwist and it still look that good!!!

  • Your hair is actually the same length as mine! They look just fine don't worry. I think because in the first yr the hair is still locking that that may have to do w/why the hair seems as if it isn't growing.Your locs look beautiful and i agree I love the freedom of having locs.

  • Thanks for the positivity. I would love to see your hair! Haven't see it since you sent me those pics when you first started.

  • Love the hair but dont trip look at your 1st vid til now you will see the diff, zayloc told me the same thing and yes big difference. DREALOCKERS UNITE!

  • Thanks sweetie :)

  • Tbey,

Mark my words..once you reach that one year mark your hair is gonna take off! And anyway do you realize how gorgeous your locs are? I don't think you do.

  • I do love my locks, they look beautiful to me. But I feel like they haven't grown. Much in a year. Look how long you hair has grown in a year. Our hair is about the same length and yours was much shorter when you started. But mine did locked much quicker. I'm being patient and I know my journey is still in the beginning stages. I know next year this time I'll be estatic :)

  • i love your locs...but the growth will come in due time. it seemed like my locs were the same length for a while. but once i hit that one year it seemed like my locs changed in growth. idk when we anticipate things it just seems like it takes forever! but dont worry tie you have one month to go before your one year. after that...i bet your gonna see growth and changes!

  • I think your right. We will see :)

  • u swear u havnt twisted for a month? it looks like u jus came from tha shop lol. only 1 month to go.. ur jus coastin to tha finish line @ this point. i hope all goes well for u in the time between now and then. dreadheads for life . !!

  • No I haven't but when I go in the water I normally corn braid my locks or put it in two ponytails. It's keeps the twists from unraveling.

  • Hey sis! I feel ya on the growth. I thought too that my hair would be at least at the point where I started. Unless I have a super growth spurt in the next month, it's gonna be a bit shorter than where I started. I'm beginning to think that the longer the hair the more that's there that has to shrink, condense and mat.

Your locs are looking great though and yes they have grown a lot.

  • I'm glad someone feels the same way I do :)
