Is there a benifit to some types of 'groupism'. Ie, it's a quick (though not neccicarily entirely accurate) way of separating benificial relationships from non-benificial, neutral or even negitave ones. (ie: That individual is sympathetic to me because they are in the same group - and that individual is not because their group competes for resources with my group)
I can see that position having survival benifits, thus being selected for as a trait, perhaps less relevant in modern human culture.

there is also the issue of abundance of resources. many of us have access to so many resources that its hard to believe that there could be a shortage. thus the is no need to compete for food or water in developed nations. but if those resources become scarce then i believe groupism will become more evident. the trait is just dormant in the modern culture of developed nations.
Makes sense the way she explains her (qualified ) conclusions. The crux is in the design of experiments and the interpretation. I am left a little unclear in gaining a full understanding .
