It's not usually necessary to have a short frenulum (aka tongue tie) corrected. The baby will usually learn to adapt on their own.

I went to Paraquay in 1995 and saw two women breast feeding their babies while sitting on the street and people walking by did not stare or make comments about it. Seems like only in America people would stare or make comments. I live in America and to make my point, several months ago I had a doctor appointment. I sat down in the waitng room and a woman was breast feeding her baby, She had her breat covered with a towel. Two men in their mid 20's was staring, laughing and making comments.

Have any studies been done on nipple length VS Ease of breastfeeding, VS How long into life the baby is willing to Breastfeed?

The reason i ask is that we had a lot of trouble getting our kids to breastfeed. Needed perfect positions, timing, etc, and even then they gave up after 6 months.

But i notice that this woman has somewhat long nipples, compared to my wifes huge actually, and the baby was able to feed while looking practically the other way, without worry.

my 1st full term baby was bottle fed at less then 24 hours by the NNU nurse, I did not make it in time for the bottle feed, I was telephoned to come from upstairs to go downstairs & feed her, i didn't make it, she was a champ at bottle feeding, she kept demanding the 4 hour feeds. drinking them all fast flow teat, but because she could only drink from the bottle & had trouble with breastfeeding attempts, healthy babies can breastfeed, it meant she was sick still, She never learnt to breast feed.
