thanks for the comment. Which video do you suggest me to watch that would show me how to work on the sounds for this type of music? thanks to help me.
Sound wise - I vote for Korg and Roland - but, Yamaha bests them in super articulation voices - technology.
Anyway, when it comes to the 1-men band Yamaha is more concentrated in that field, and when it comes PART of the BAND - Korg and Roland are just perfect where Yamaha lacks in more adjustment that Korg and Roland poses.
For Entry level artists Yamaha Tyros is perfect - but, price wise I can think of something in the Korg and Roland family as well :)
Very well played. Try doing that on a G-70. You'll hear real "thrusting" backlines, not the dinky-toy drumsounds as if the drummer is in another room. Roland and Korg beat Yamaha in all aspects. Really, try it.
I couldn't agree MORE, man! You NAILED it! Have you heard the PA2XPRO yet? That board is AMAZING! Yamaha could only DREAM of creating something like that!
lol... Yamaha OWNS Korg... and I mean that. They literally own the company. They bought korg out years ago. They helped korg get back their feet because they were going out of business. In exchange, korg gave yamaha some, if not all, or their tech. Korg is a tiny company compared to Yamaha.
Yamaha DOES NOT OWN KORG! Where the hell did you get that? Korg is an INDEPENDENT COMPANY! If Yamaha owned Korg the flagship OASYS wouldn't even exist! Korg used Yamaha parts, but that was only because they couldn't afford the resources to make their own parts. There's NOTHING Yamaha in ANY of the Korgs today. The OASYS uses a FATAR hammer-action keybed which is the SAME as the Triton studio. The i30 however had a Yamaha keybed and used some their chipsets. XG is the ONLY common denominator now!
It's true that Korg almost did go out of business and Yamaha helped them out. But that was when Korg started using Yamaha Parts until they got back on their feet. Once the M1 came out (thanks to the Yamaha keybed that made it happen), not ONLY was it one of the BEST selling keyboards in history, but it SAVED Korg from going out of business in the '80s! Yamaha NEVER bought Korg, they just helped them get back on their feet. They are independently owned and operated and have been since DAY ONE.
You're a VERY good musician! I've been playing for about 10 years now, but one thing I still seek is the kind of intuitive feel you possess. BTW, this is my dream workstation!
Nothing can match yamaha.. other brands like roland and korg may have an upper hand in one or two features.. but overall Yamaha rules,, unless you are a professional musician who can afford to keep 4-5 different keyboards, Yamahas are the best bet.
Yamaha has the most realistic voices of all keyboards! Piano is unmatched. I tried roland, korg and yamaha digital pianos, casio, and many others. Only yamaha digital pianos are "true" piano sound. I have been playing classical piano for 27 years, and yamaha is the best.
I agree, totally. Then again, Yamaha actually makes pianos, lol, so they probably are more in touch with what is important when it comes to sampling pianos.
Yamaha needs to develop a tyros with all dance styles and hip hop and trance with 73 keys and a arpeggio on board with tweek knobs...or a touch screen like a ribbon control the arpeggios...they give you this 400 styles and all the sappy bad sounds...GREAT playing thow!!
Yamaha makes one. It's called the Motif XS. Where do you think all those top acoustic voices on the Motif XS came from???? They came from the Tyros II pro arranger. Super Articulation voices started with the keyboard in this video. You have obviously never really played a Tyros II.
The Motif XS is NOT an arranger, though. I HATE the Tyros II PURELY for the CHEESY styles its got. The sound is there, but the styles aren't. I'm pretty fed up with Yamaha, anyways, as I've taken my business elsewhere. Personally, I'd LOVE to see the PSR 9000 come back with ALL the Motif sounds and have all the Trance, HipHop, and Dance Styles. He makes a very valid point, here. Yamaha REALLY needs to WAKE the HELL up and bring back their legacy of keyboards! They are REALLY going DOWN the PIPES!
It's not a bad keyboard...but it doesn't have that "attack" that Korg or Roland have...it's too soft...
U could use it only in pubs...I prefer Roland ;)
For example the VA-76 it's much better...only that there aren't many videos...if u search for Roland u'll find only fkn arabs...so as with other keyboards...:D
Exactly. That Roland E-80 is something else! WOW! What an arranger! That's the ultimate right now. But then so is the Ketron, and Korg, Yamaha is not what they used to be. Played a PSR-S900 the other day and didn't like at all. The sound quality is there, but its lacking IMMENSELY in features. It's a TOY compared to the Korgs and Rolands.
I got rid of korgs and roland, tyros 2 is by far the best arranger workstation ever built, the quality of the sampling and voices.. dont even dare to compare to the e80 my god..!!
i,d love you to do shakatak,s easier said than done, but i beleive you could play anything you put youself and that amazing keyboard to keep that smooth souly jazz fusion coming your great at the ballads thanks spicyswiss, peace bro ,v
aww this song brings me back, i remember those city nights, i always wanted a little funk while im in the city. This gives it all, the feeling. Can you make the same song for me please so may i download it?
Hi man. that's a lot messages. here is the space for music. When are you putting one of your videos on line ? on a KORG of course. They are also good keyboards. The sax however, isn't that good on KORG.... upload songs for us please. cheers
As soon as complete some tracks and copyright them. The Saxes on the OASYS are unbelievable! I have never heard that kind of realism on a keyboard in my life before. But I don't use brass/reed instruments very often in my songs. I use a lot of Leads, Pianos, EP's, Strings, Guitar, Drums, Bass, Pads, and Synth sounds and effects and whatnot.
My main focus for the OASYS was the KARMA Engine which can blow away most arrangers and the 88-Keys as I always had to practice more than I had to on the synth action keyboards I was using. The Triton Brass/Reed sounds were mind-blowing when I used them. But I'll post some vids once I complete some tracks as I'm still learning the OASYS.
The OASYS is about $8,500 for the 88-Note. There's a 76-Note that's going for $7,500. And bear in mind that this is retail. Cost on this particular instrument is so high that there are little to NO discounts on it. The dealers HAVE to sell at at retail and even then they aren't making too much money on it.
I don't play other people's music either I write music and that's all I do. Unless I need inspiration or whatnot, that's when I'll start playing something someone else wrote.
Rich? Are you kidding? I had to take out a loan on the OASYS to get one! And mind you I have NO job and NO money in pocket as I'm busting my ass trying to pay it off. The OASYS for me was NOT a luxury. It was an absolute necessity for me to get back to writing again.
I can't seem to recall the last time I've ever been this happy now that I got it. And I've NEVER seen a keyboard that inspired me SO much to write music.
You won't find any videos on the Korgs. Most people that I know of have actually bought a PA1x or even a PA800 blindfolded when they were taking pre-orders prior to their release.
I don't know Korg keyboards. But I try to find some video demonstrations in order to make my own opinion but I don't find any video. Why ?
But If we talk about the quality of sound, don't you think that the superarticulation voices are really good ? I don't know any other keyboards with that quality of sounds...
Motif ES are synthetizers, Tyros is an arranger. The arranger has the styles possiblities, which the Motif doesn't have. there might also be some differences in the sounds although similar.
wow! re wowo! es super increible como haces sonar ese Tyros 2, tienes mucho talento! tocas del carajos! que chevere voy a intentar ahcer lo mismo con mi PSR 3000 exitos amigo!
No it's not! the Korg's are SOOO much better! Yamaha's Chord recognition is WEAK. If your a jazz player wanting to do some intricate chord voicings, the Yamaha is a MAJOR let down. I'm VERY disappointed once again with the Tyros 2. The Korg PA1x or the PA800 is the best on the market right now. The last Arranger Yamaha made that really impressed me was the PSR-9000. They've really lost a lot of loyal customers
The answer about your question whether or not we can play the bass with foot is yes, with a midi pedal board...but!! it would be difficult to play like that with the foot. Would be like a Marathon !
Fantastic! Having played myself on my old digital baby grand Sammick 900-G, I'm really astounded by the sound of Tyros 2. Hopefully, one of these days I can buy this amazing keyboard. You should your finesse and I'm very much impressed.
I just put an electric piano on the left hand and play on this e-piano. These are basically the chords to control the harmony from the arranger plus some notes over the chords.... Since the song is quite "dynamic" it just looks like it's a lot... I didn't realize that ..
Hi, I just got a yamaha a few months ago. I don't have much time to play it but I try. I really produce short documentaries, look me up. You might like my world trade center video.
I'm only playing with styles (do not like the midifiles..). Here I'm using the "Saturday Night" all the way. I also program a lot of custom sytles for some other songs.
Good tight playing. Would be good to hear you play keys in a live band - you would sound shit hot! I always think the Tyros styles never does justice to ones playing (I've got one and never a fan of the styles) a great player you are too!
Best,

why don't you do a google search and see for yourself?
Prices vary depending on what part of what country you are from.
In Canada, the price is $4100 and you can get it for $3200.
In the US. it is $3800 and you can get it for $2900.

PS. I do own Yamaha :)

I'm VERY disappointed once again with the Tyros 2. The Korg PA1x or the PA800 is the best on the market right now. The last Arranger Yamaha made that really impressed me was the PSR-9000. They've really lost a lot of loyal customers

Electone and Orgue in the tags. But Where is the Pedal Bass ? Can you play the same without automatic bass.

Hi,
thanks for commenting and contacting me.

Nice. What all is going with the left hand? Obviously you are not just hold down a chord for the arranger to detect.

Hi. thanks for commenting !! it's nice!
I just put an electric piano on the left hand and play on this e-piano. These are basically the chords to control the harmony from the arranger plus some notes over the chords.... Since the song is quite "dynamic" it just looks like it's a lot... I didn't realize that ..

That was nice. Great job.

This is great, Tyros2 is king. I wish someone would do a flamenco guitar demo.

Hi, I just got a yamaha a few months ago. I don't have much time to play it but I try. I really produce short documentaries, look me up. You might like my world trade center video.

Hi there, pretty good pal. I have a Tyros2 only wish I could play as well as you. What style if any do you use on this piece?
lilchris26 5 years ago
Hey!
thanks for the nice comment :-)
I'm only playing with styles (do not like the midifiles..). Here I'm using the "Saturday Night" all the way. I also program a lot of custom sytles for some other songs.
