Good vid, I own a XD and a glock and I carry the xd in my off time. Being a cop I carry the glock 22 as mandated by our department. Honestly I would carry either one, I have never had a ftf or fte with the xd as I have with the glock but I have put 1000's of more rounds thru the glock so its not fair for me to say one is more reliable than the other but I like both. I wish they would let me carry my Kimber but thats a horse of a different color. Once again good job with the video.

Had problems with my glock 26 and "I" I say again "I" couldnt hit anything with it. The XD Sub compact however had probley 8000 rounds through it when I sold it and was always reliabile and an absolute tac driver as sub compacts go. I never should have sold that one. :(

I use a Colt Commander for CCW. I just purchased a Glock 30SF as a secondary CCW. The Glock will function will any .45acp ammo. The Colt will not feed 185 semi wadcutter bullets. The Colt is great for comfortable CCW use. This is a helpful video.

I carry the XD9 subbie every day, it's a great gun. I'm well over 4000 rounds downrange now and it's performed way beyond my expectations. I got the extra powerful version with the OD green frame though! Ok so maybe it's not more powerful but I sure like the look of a black and OD gun.
TERRIFIC VIDEO! Love the regular kinda guy take on the two guns. Sometimes just comes down to what YOU like. I am fortunate enough to have a Taurus 85, nice light revolver great on a walk. I have shot my son's XDs in 40 and 9. Like the way they shoot and look, don't like the grip safety or the takedown lever. But I don't mind the grip safety on my Para GI 45 or Warthog. I carry a Glock 26. Love it! Have my G22 for home, G21 for in the truck. Shooting the Ruger 44 mag Alaskan is the most fun! :)

For all you guys who keep saying glock is the best because thats what most leo's carry why dont you take a moment to realize they dont have a choice most of the time. Glocks started the "plastic gun" cult following. They are the original, they are reliable, they are the best... Others are simply immitations or followers, it is true there is no arguing about it. Not saying XD OR M&P Aren't good guns, but Glock is the best.
@106MMTurbo I used to think that. The Glock is still decidedly better than the xD, but there are instances (especially in .45 ACP, full size) where the M&P is definitively better than the Glock.

I am still after a RUGER SR1911 But they are very hard to come by.... Glocks are hands down my favorite pistols, I am not biased and like nearly all guns and shooting guns, but my Glocks are my favorite guns I own. Watch "glock torture test" its a good idea of what they are.
@106MMTurbo I own Glocks, but there are a lot of things on the M&P that are superior to the Glock. As far as 1911s, There is Colt and Springfield Armory, and then there is everyone else. I've been thinking about getting another one, but the reliability just isn't up there with more modern pistols.

Take down isnt superior you have to go fishing with a paper clip to break it down, accuracy is all in the shooter, same with hand fitment, the metal magazine? I prefer my glock magazine... @106MMTurbo Beefier extractor, better ergonomics, a striker that will not pump, factory threaded barrels are available, thumb safety (not really my thing, but important to some). I could care less where a gun is manufactured, most of my pistols are from foreign companies (though some have been made in the US).
Just picked up a XD-9 and I too have a Glock 9. Love the weight of the Glock but other than that I prefer the XD! Those naysayers should give it a chance before placing judgment. I use to put my Glock above the rest til I met the XD! They're both great guns in the end though so no one should argue that. BTW nice video
For my money, it's not even close. I own Glocks and have ran various ammo through them all. A couple of faulty mags(2) out of a bunch. Saved my life at least once. There's a reason they've taken such a commanding lead in sales. Gaston Glock got it right. Great guns. Practice often. God Bless.
Nice video. I have a Glock 17, and was debating between the 26 and the XD-9 for a second gun - partly for CC and partly for my wife/daughter protection when I'm gone. I chose the XD, in part because I found a great deal on one, and because it included the magazine with the grip extender. Both are great guns, but I wanted variety and grip comfort. Agreed, both are fun to shoot. Keep it up.
You did look more comfortable and settled in with the XD ! The Glock did indeed have more muzzle rise. I like the compact and sub-compact Glocks better too than the full size ones. Between both I am now an XD fan. I had a Glock 19 and 21. Im sorry I had to get rid of the 19 but the day I held the XD, I knew that I liked them better than Glock. The XD/XDM's are more elegant in appearance and have certain quality attributes that the Glock lacks. The Glock finish is Better than XD Melonite.

The video made me go buy an xd and I couldn't be happier with it. Never been this happy with a pistol out of the box. I like it bettter than all my glock except the g23. I even like it better than the xdm I sold. Xdm so not worth the extra money.

Thanks for the vid. I can't help noticing how much the xd 9 receiver looks like the Glock, even the "safe action" trigger and the texture looks nearly identical. One thing I like about the Glock is you can use the mags from the larger models in the compacts, not sure if xd has this feature.

Glock all the way. I'm sick of Glock copies, which the XD is clearly. I'm not saying the XD isn't an excellent firearm, but it's too much of a Glock clone, and all it's doing is flattering the Glock in my opinion. Just get the original, and loose this polymer copy.

Not trying to hate or seem like a know-it-all, just a friendly suggestion. I was watching the way you shoot, and notice quite a lot of flinching, most likely due to shooting too fast and not really thinking about exactly what you are doing. My advice, slow down and breathe. :) I know you can be accurate with pistols, don't just say you aren't! @sastaroo I have owned Glocks, but now I own 4 XD's. They are better in every way, other than weight. The XD's shoot better, have a better safety system and more/better features. Well this came as a surprise , most videos you find on youtube will be a fight between Glock fans and XD fans, mostly all balanced to Glock since well it's a great gun with an impeccable record. But to me this video gave exactly the feelings I have, I do like shooting the XDM a LOT better but the Glock is the Glock , one thing I might add is that you can feel on the with the Glock when a round is chambered also the XDM has that back pin that shines up when the chambered is lowered, great job !!
I think both guns are outstanding and you would be well served to own either one. I also did want to bring up one thing about the loaded chamber indicator on the Glock. I wouldn't really use the extractor to tell if it was loaded but if the trigger is in the forward/ready position then it should be assumed there is a round in the chamber. Yes I realize the gun may not be loaded even with the trigger forward but if you use this gun at all you will know.. or should know.
I used to have the XD and gave it up because I wanted a Kel-Tec P11. I sold that, carried a Hi-Point C9 (egads) for about 7 mos. I'm now carrying the Glock 26 in a Pocket Holster and I love it. But this video has got me to thinking, "Why not get another XD & have options?" So, as soon as I find the XD for a decent price, I'm gonna buy it! @Tvvt67 The XD is the same gun HS2000 out of Croatia. They have been in business since 1999. Although Glock has been around since 1982 they did not become popular in the US until the late 90's. Springfield did not copy anything. Have you ever fired an XD? Probably not.

Every company is trying to make a sub compact to compete with the Glock or a polymer pistol to compete with Glock. IMO, the Glock 19 and 26 are the kings of the crop. The rest are good imitations, but I'll stick with the one that paved the way. Glock wins hands down against most pistols. In your vid, you can see it's obvious you are more a fan of the XD. There's an excitement in your eyes. However, you shoot better with the Glock. That should tell you something right there.
@sastaroo I enjoy both firearms and like I said, I carry the 26 almost daily compared to the carrying the XD. I might lean a little more towards the XD because overall I do like it more then the 26, but I own both because I like them both. Your right about me shooting better with the 26 and that is mainly in part because I have more practice with it and have owned it longer. Thanks for watching and the insight.
The recoil impulse on the XD is noticeably different from that of the Glock. The XD was more flippy and less consistent, watching the two shot by you a couple times. Maybe you are more comfortable with the Glock, or maybe that extra inch of XD bore axis really does suck!
@alhovde19 Yeah, I would say I'm more accurate with the Glock. I consider myself a great shot with the rifle, but definitely need to improve my pistol shooting. It would be nice to hit 90%. Because I film myself I think it adds pressure to my accuracy
I got a XDM full sized in .40 S&W a couple months ago and with some Federal FMJ's it shoots amazing. It's great for open carry with the nice paddle holster it comes with.
Suggestions to Kel-Tek? I was always hoping that KT would develop and sell a sub2000 that was compatible with XD9mm mags. It would be very easy to do, as
the XD9mm mags actually fit perfectly into the breech/ receiver of the Sub2000 made for the P11 and the Smith and Wesson mags. I am not alone. Many, many other XD9mm owners would purchase such a Sub2000.
yo man..great vid. I live in woodbury nj and there are no out door ranges near here that I know of. I have a xd sub 40 and really like it. I also have a glock 19 and a glock 30. If I could carry in nj I would carry my xd. never shot the glock 26 or 27. I applied for non res carry permits in several states so I will be able to carry in 31 states just not where I live...thats stupid isnt it....

For all you guys who keep saying glock is the best because thats what most leo's carry why dont you take a moment to realize they dont have a choice most of the time. I am still after a RUGER SR1911 But they are very hard to come by.... Glocks are hands down my favorite pistols, I am not biased and like nearly all guns and shooting guns, but my Glocks are my favorite guns I own. Watch "glock torture test" its a good idea of what they are.

@106MMTurbo I own Glocks, but there are a lot of things on the M&P that are superior to the Glock. As far as 1911s, There is Colt and Springfield Armory, and then there is everyone else. I've been thinking about getting another one, but the reliability just isn't up there with more modern pistols.

Take down isnt superior you have to go fishing with a paper clip to break it down, accuracy is all in the shooter, same with hand fitment, the metal magazine? I prefer my glock magazine... @106MMTurbo Beefier extractor, better ergonomics, a striker that will not pump, factory threaded barrels are available, thumb safety (not really my thing, but important to some). I could care less where a gun is manufactured, most of my pistols are from foreign companies (though some have been made in the US).

Just picked up a XD-9 and I too have a Glock 9. Love the weight of the Glock but other than that I prefer the XD! Those naysayers should give it a chance before placing judgment. I use to put my Glock above the rest til I met the XD! They're both great guns in the end though so no one should argue that. BTW nice video

For my money, it's not even close. I own Glocks and have ran various ammo through them all. A couple of faulty mags(2) out of a bunch. Saved my life at least once. There's a reason they've taken such a commanding lead in sales. Gaston Glock got it right. Great guns. Practice often. God Bless.

Nice video. I have a Glock 17, and was debating between the 26 and the XD-9 for a second gun - partly for CC and partly for my wife/daughter protection when I'm gone. I chose the XD, in part because I found a great deal on one, and because it included the magazine with the grip extender. Both are great guns, but I wanted variety and grip comfort. Agreed, both are fun to shoot. Keep it up.

You did look more comfortable and settled in with the XD ! The Glock did indeed have more muzzle rise. I like the compact and sub-compact Glocks better too than the full size ones. Between both I am now an XD fan. I had a Glock 19 and 21. Im sorry I had to get rid of the 19 but the day I held the XD, I knew that I liked them better than Glock. The XD/XDM's are more elegant in appearance and have certain quality attributes that the Glock lacks. The Glock finish is Better than XD Melonite.

The video made me go buy an xd and I couldn't be happier with it. Never been this happy with a pistol out of the box. I like it bettter than all my glock except the g23. I even like it better than the xdm I sold. Xdm so not worth the extra money.

Thanks for the vid. I can't help noticing how much the xd 9 receiver looks like the Glock, even the "safe action" trigger and the texture looks nearly identical. One thing I like about the Glock is you can use the mags from the larger models in the compacts, not sure if xd has this feature.

i like being very open-minded about guns, i like all guns. now, i own XD's, but im not saying i dont like Glock. i think Glock's are great! bbbuuuutttt.... i do prefer XD's though... why??? cuz my over-all, hands-down favorite pistol's are 1911's... and the XD's ergonomics are based solely on the 1911 ergo's, Springfield Armory even said that its based on the 1911 platform.

Not trying to hate or seem like a know-it-all, just a friendly suggestion. I was watching the way you shoot, and notice quite a lot of flinching, most likely due to shooting too fast and not really thinking about exactly what you are doing. My advice, slow down and breathe. :) I know you can be accurate with pistols, don't just say you aren't! @sastaroo I have owned Glocks, but now I own 4 XD's. They are better in every way, other than weight. The XD's shoot better, have a better safety system and more/better features. I'm talking from experience. You probably bought a Glock becaue of the name. It's the, so called "cool gun" and have never fired anything else. Just like people buy Nike's because of the name. Since then times have changed. Everything is Poly, and Glock is not number 1 anymore. If the GLock design is so good why do they keep changing it? Research means nothing if you are biased. If you do some real research you will find that more and more ppl are moving away from Glock not just going with XD.

Well this came as a surprise , most videos you find on youtube will be a fight between Glock fans and XD fans, mostly all balanced to Glock since well it's a great gun with an impeccable record. But to me this video gave exactly the feelings I have, I do like shooting the XDM a LOT better but the Glock is the Glock , one thing I might add is that you can feel on the with the Glock when a round is chambered also the XDM has that back pin that shines up when the chambered is lowered, great job !!

I think both guns are outstanding and you would be well served to own either one. I also did want to bring up one thing about the loaded chamber indicator on the Glock. I wouldn't really use the extractor to tell if it was loaded but if the trigger is in the forward/ready position then it should be assumed there is a round in the chamber. Yes I realize the gun may not be loaded even with the trigger forward but if you use this gun at all you will know.. or should know.

I used to have the XD and gave it up because I wanted a Kel-Tec P11. I sold that, carried a Hi-Point C9 (egads) for about 7 mos. I'm now carrying the Glock 26 in a Pocket Holster and I love it. Put the 3..5 lb trigger on the Glock and you'll love the trigger. Plus the Glock 26 barrel is about .5 inches longer than the sub-compact XD.

@Tvvt67 The XD is the same gun HS2000 out of Croatia. They have been in business since 1999. Although Glock has been around since 1982 they did not become popular in the US until the late 90's. Springfield did not copy anything. Have you ever fired an XD? Probably not.

Every company is trying to make a sub compact to compete with the Glock or a polymer pistol to compete with Glock. IMO, the Glock 19 and 26 are the kings of the crop. The rest are good imitations, but I'll stick with the one that paved the way. Glock wins hands down against most pistols. In your vid, you can see it's obvious you are more a fan of the XD. There's an excitement in your eyes. However, you shoot better with the Glock. That should tell you something right there.

I might lean a little more towards the XD because overall I do like it more then the 26, but I own both because I like them both. Your right about me shooting better with the 26 and that is mainly in part because I have more practice with it and have owned it longer. Thanks for watching and the insight.

The recoil impulse on the XD is noticeably different from that of the Glock. The XD was more flippy and less consistent, watching the two shot by you a couple times. Maybe you are more comfortable with the Glock, or maybe that extra inch of XD bore axis really does suck!

I got a XDM full sized in .40 S&W a couple months ago and with some Federal FMJ's it shoots amazing. It's great for open carry with the nice paddle holster it comes with.

Suggestions to Kel-Tek? I was always hoping that KT would develop and sell a sub2000 that was compatible with XD9mm mags. It would be very easy to do, as
the XD9mm mags actually fit perfectly into the breech/ receiver of the Sub2000 made for the P11 and the Smith and Wesson mags. I am not alone. Many, many other XD9mm owners would purchase such a Sub2000.

yo man..great vid. I live in woodbury nj and there are no out door ranges near here that I know of. I have a xd sub 40 and really like it. I also have a glock 19 and a glock 30. If I could carry in nj I would carry my xd. never shot the glock 26 or 27. I applied for non res carry permits in several states so I will be able to carry in 31 states just not where I live...thats stupid isnt it....
