  • Amazing stuff,real true hip-hop.

  • to those 2 haters: look at the dislike bar, and now look at your penis. No difference

  • Transient Melodic Vibe

  • It's like comparing hand crafted wooden furniture to Ikea picture frame 3pack

  • They should make a radio station for just underground hip hop

  • @8BitMartian lol man if they did i would id cancel all my plans just to listen =)

  • That's real hip hop shit right here man...damn sad to say it's not like this nowadays

  • New music from me/producer of Smiley - La Da Day by Mack Fuller III (search it in Youtube or soundcloud)

  • Sadly once again the true and great artist doesn't get the publicity they deserve. Asheru remains one of the few rappers I like and at the top of that exclusive list.

  • Japan's great

  • Thank God for the boondocks or i never would have heard such amazing music

  • Asheru and Blue Black are the only artists outside rock, county, and bluegrass i like

  • There has been so many great hiphop songs but this one is the BEST.

  • finally i can use my youtube to ipod converter :)

  • 2 people don't smiley

  • Man, I wish more people would listen to this instead of that horrible ICP shit... Clowns? Really?

  • I just realized that the least recognized rappers are usually the ones that are the best because being too famous for some reason starts making them make shit songs and using auto tune

  • @MrFunnymonster lol thats true.. btw check blu and exile!!

  • anyone from the baltimore area remember when dj lil mike and titan used to play this on WEAA morgan state every friday night in '98 and they would just destroy it with the juggles and scratching? damn those were some good some good nights on the radio.

  • I'm a metal head and I will be until I take my last breathe, but whenever I hear a bar from Asheru I get overwhelmed with a feeling of peace, Long live the hip hop underground. Peace

  • i'm a punk rocker but i always stand up for hip hop when people start talking shit about the mainstream garbage. this stuff has meaning

  • Fitting name. I couldn't help but smile like and idiot when I heard this :)

  • I love this shit! Blessed with the realness.

  • I hope this guy becomes more famous, but not so much he is forced to use auto tune or change his style to compete with crap like Lil' Wayne or T-Pain.

  • Great track with awesome pictures!

  • this is one of my favorite songs & 2 people are dumbasses

  • Simple awesomeness

  • Love the Bass Flute on this track, and the Jazz Flute solo is beast

  • Such a great compilation, perfect for city life.

  • Oh man the minute I heard that i was thinkin bout Daylight by Aesop Rock cause of the "Yes yes ya'll, you don't stop"

  • @spdeew This song goes hard. Im glad he add his music in Boondocks

  • @AntiVaccine dude, don't spread bullshit. while i agree that some vaccines and treatments authorised by the WHO have a bigger story behind them, you shouldn't spread unproved, retarded nonsense. some vaccines do save people, such as the MMR vaccine. and NO, it does not cause autism.

    peace

  • wow nice pics of japan beautiful country ill have to go heard the hip hop scene there iz mad hot

  • this is good for after you go through some shit you just turn this on and it'll chill you out

  • how come ive never heard of Asheru

    unbelievably under rated

    absolutely amazing...

  • the music its on point, and the pics match the music perfectly great job man

  • Asheru made me realize hip-hop wasn't dead.

  • great rapper keep it up douge

  • Love the music. and the video's visuals.

what song was this sampled from?

    or is it original?

  • fuck auto tune you muthafuckas need to dig in the crates and find some new inspiration from real hip hop artists like asheru, fat jon,r.i.p j dilla, little brother, 9th wonder, five deez i could go on and on but what can i say fake muthafuckas make fake ass music and got the nerve to be beefin with each other over the bullshit they make yall real hip hop heads keep this shit alive peace

  • Underground<3

this is what hiphop is really supposed to be.

  • This is true to the word, No smoke n mirrors behind this expression. Hip hop needs a revolution. Give rise to the speakers of truth!

  • One of the most Talent Artist in any Genre Asheru and Of Course BlueBlak

  • Asheru and Blue Blak two of the Most Talent Artist in Any Genre

    Much Guy, and Hiphop1692

  • Commercial Radio is wack, thats old news ... Big Up to Satellite Radio ,College Radio, and Community Stations. And as far as Underground spread it tell people About it , I love UnderGround Hiphop Aka Real! HipHop!. My Thing is UndergroundHiphop Shows... they'll wont play the song in its entirely saying its Exclusive. Yea but, Hell Nah whose Up late As Hell.. just the Peeps who really Love this ..not the Everyday "Biscuit Head" ... who buy albums cause its on the Radio.

  • last mainstream song i actually listented to was Trick daddy when i was like 13 around 2003

i feel bad for your tards who ACTUALLY listenind up to Lil wayne and ATL take over

my biggest mainstream scare was the early 2000 "anger management" tour with luda, eminem, xzhibit bunch of other hype

dont know how you made it through ATL's destruction of hiphop

thank christ when i hit puberty i found public enemy

    CHUCK D SAVED MEH!!!!!

  • love it

  • ousmand hip hop is not totally dead and buried. and if u realised not all artists followed it underground they confromed to the music of today the digital era

  • there was no need to conform to any thing. the music was perfect the way it was. this music is perfect. Thats why now a days you make a hit and it only stays up for like a week or two but this shit right here. This shit is forever. real hiphop

  • @MIL192

    yeah like common and kanye

and that shit makes my ears bleed its so bad

    fuck that autotune faggot shit

you spend 10 years following hiphops path saying your blazing your own trail and its not just cuz its the "in" thing right now

than hiphop makes a new path,

and its time to follow lead or get the fuck out the way

and they fall behind and stay floatin down the mainstream

thats all i need to know about that

  • @ABOM420 yea all this commercial rubbish has got me going crazy, most have such bad lyrics, i mean some tunes are ok but my god the lyrics!!!

  • Hip-Hop is dead and buried, and all the real artists heard and followed it underground.

  • ASHERU knows how do it...

  • mainstreams all about whos better, whos best, and who makes the most money

  • @Parflek yep... it's pretty pathetic sometimes.

  • Anyone know what instrument that is from 2:52 onward.

  • it sounds like some kind of flute but i don't know.

  • i'd guess that it's a transverse flute.

  • It's a flute patch from the Ensoniq EPS. I produced this track (Obsession from Aboriginals)

  • it sounds like a Duduk. I have one from Armenia

  • a flute

  • nothing above average but good track and flow worth listenin to

  • dis is how hiphop really is...

  • tHE only difference between mainstream and underground is: do you write music for money, get money for music, or write from your heart and get hearts in return?

  • this is the true definition of hip-hop

  • Its sad, i ask friends what they think of rap, and most dont even acknowledge it as real music. I heard u when u said to stop bitchin about mainstream " rap ", but.

THOSE FUCKERS ARE BLEEDING OUT HIP HOP.

  • hip hop died and went undergound

  • Comment removed

  • You know what doesn't help get underground artists more notoriety??? Always fucking bringing up Wayne, Kanye, Boosie, etc. on the videos of real hip-hop artists. So shut the fuck up! Everybody knows the mainstream is whack but bringing them up constantly just to say how much they suck is a waste of fucking time. Let them have their shitty music. I'll take Asheru, Little Brother, Tanya Morgan, Oddisee, U-N-I & P.Casso, thanks. This has been a public service announcement from a real hip-hop head.

  • Ah...

You have some great artists on your list...

Mainstream isnt, what you call "whack"... Every artist has their own goal and reason why they do what they do...

Underground, and some of the few mainstream artists make their music to express feelings, reveal the corruption in the modern world, and promote good deeds...

While most mainstream artists do what they can to make money... I don't exactly like their music as well... but that doesnt mean i dont respect it...

  • you should not respect people who can turn like a peice over paper caught in wind just so they can earn money to waste.

  • word

  • Most of them even promote violence, sex, drugs, gangs, and even degrade women... which I don't approve at the slightest...

    But who can blame them...

As many have said before, and many others after will...

Money is what makes the world go round...

  • amen man

  • @JizzMop64 You know what else? All this shit about lets limewire this shit and lets Bittorrent that new hit by all these great underground artists. Go out and spend the money so that we can bring these talented individuals into the light that they so rightfully deserve.

  • @uperstupid Help them get the message out. N if you burn the track atleast put the money down to see them for any performances they might have if they have em. Gotta start putting the money into the hands of the real artist not these wack ass rappers talking about the money, cars, clothes, the hoes.

  • @JizzMop64 Wow. Thank you man. Some new names in there for me. Just looked em up and I'm really liking what Im hearing. Got any others?

  • @johnpatrick818 Check out Kid Cudi, KidSyc, Lupe Fiasco, Gemstones, Wale, Deltron 3030, Soul Position, Jake One, Cyne, Dialated Peoples, Big Sean, Black Milk, Slum Village, 8thW1, Jay Electronica, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, The Roots, Rhymefest, Charles Hamilton, Kev Brown, Blame One, Heltah Skeltah, Redlight Boogie, Termanology, Organized Konfusion, A Tribe Called Quest, Brother Ali, Buff1, Sollilaquists of Sound, Jurassic 5, Aquil, MF Doom, Madlib, Fashawn, Exile, etc. Some new, some old. All dope.

  • @JizzMop64 thanks! not all the names were new to me, but many were, and its all gold.

  • @JizzMop64: Great statement. I grew up in the punk scene & always partial to the underground. I only stumbled upon Asheru from The Boondocks (I just love the intro song). Main stream hip-hop to me is unrelatable, I don't care how much $ U got or how great you think you are. They're empty words....its basically club music. Give me something with weight & meaning; then you are an artist.

BTW thanks for listing some other artists. Gonna check them out.

  • @JizzMop64 well said ma man

  • @JizzMop64 thank u brotha this is good music aint nutin better

  • @JizzMop64 Thanks for listing those artists. I now have more music to check out & possibly add to my list.

And by music I mean... well, music, not shit.

    Btw, Asheru's great :]

  • @JizzMop64 well said :]

  • @JizzMop64 Im glad u mentioned little brother yo they are slept on waaaaaaaaay to much

  • @JizzMop64 i agree

  • @JizzMop64 dude you gotta get some Jurassic 5 i won't steer ya wrong

  • @JizzMop64 or just clear your mind while listening to this...

  • stop commenting about how mainstream is shit, everyone knows that. just ((d-_-b)) man. just LISTEN and show thanks to the people even sharing this rare and meaningful music with yall. god damn

  • you're quite the artist

    ((d-_-b))

  • im 18 and i love this shit man, hate the new crap you see on mtv and stuff, way more into the likes of Nas, Talib, Mos Def, Binary Star, Common, Pharoahe Monche, Rakim, Brother Ali, all the real musicians stand up!!!

  • i totally agree with ur view on hip hop ..... the new generation of so called rap & hip hop corrupt it and just make it look like shit .... another few artist to name that r real black sheep , lupe fiasco , r.i.p biggie , the fugees

  • 14 y/o over here kaspanz

  • this is the good shit!. hate mainstream shit with the same old lyrics and beat

  • Thank you finally a rapper that doesn't use auto-tune.

T-pain, Kanye West, and lil wayne overuse it.

  • we can all agree that this is not garbage. . its just sad that the new generation only knows about mainstream shit

  • this stuff is real so much better than lil wayne crap this is true hip hop (the greatest)

  • soo fucking good that real shit fuck lil wayne and t pain

  • my cuz tolled me to watch dis and he was right asheru's songz are great

  • I'm not one to judge these "studio gangsters" in the music industry, because everyone wants money, and that's a fact... but i really hate the fact that they have to sell out their art in order to do it...

  • its crazy 2 know that most ppl didnt know about asheru til he did the boondocks theme song...

  • I'm one of those peeps (:

  • having the delay run through the entire track is just sick for some reason...

    fuck adlibs SLAPBACK muhfuggahs

  • try Deltron

  • First time I heard about this guy was watching boondocks, I was so into the theme song that I had to find out who it was. I was glad to find him cuz his music is inspiring next to Common. Real Hip Hop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Its like....Lupe Fiasco and Q-tip....mixed into a slow jam...I love it...perfect...

Nujabes should be on this guy!!!!! Same thing with SHING02....

  • Shing02 isn't a very good rapper...

He's DECENT, he's not gangster... but beats make his songs, not lyrics.

  • as long as you are supporting dont care about the others,,bboys,,mcs, djayzz, wall killers, beatboxers are tuned to their movement! no doubt our traditions and thaughts carry on through different hiphopic expressions!!

  • those traditions are getting lost...thanx to people like asheru we manage to keep them

  • i have this anyone wants it hit me up, i have a ton of asheru tracks, one of my fav artist that trying to keep this hip hop thing alive

  • damnn this is soo relaxed love it

  • one last thing.u know where i can download the music frm?

  • Albumhunt(dot)com (u need to sign up but its free)

or Ares/ Frostwire/ Limewire (google them)

  • @HiPHoP1692 Unless you got a really good firewall limewire and frostwire will give you viruses. I recommend the legit way and just get the "Soon Come" Album off of iTunes.

  • @HiPHoP1692 or dirpy

  • @MOSES199 . You can download at Itunes

  • i like da picture of the colorful city in the video thpugh..lol it matches the song in sick flow

  • haha thnks

  • Zion I is another great underground artist. look up poems for post modern decay. its with aesop rock (another fantastic underground rapper). those two are untouchable.

  • remember what the Reverent said: "Beware of the beast with 7 heads"

  • 0:26-1:14 is probably one of the greatest, if not the greatest verse i've ever heard.

  • you should check out B-boy, some great verses

  • thank god actual rap... not like fucking lil Wayne, he doesn't have shit... he has to make up words to rhyme.

  • ha ha couldn't of said that shit no better

  • i hate how the only way some people find a great emcee like asheru is by "The Boondocks"

Asheru is most likely the most underated rapper of all time.

some may dissagree, but check this guy's flow and rhyme patterns, something hip-hop doesnt see very often is it?

  • damn strait asheru's style and flow stands out alot from the other MCs. and yeah it is a little sad people just find out about him from tv show but it iight ive found out many Mcs from video games and shows/movies

  • I agree, cuz i found out about him throgh the tv show as well and at first i was ashamed that i didnt hear about his music back in 2001but now I'm glad I at least heard it cuz if hip hop keeps going down the road its going, we will probably never hear anything like this again. look at the small amount of comments for his other songs and you'll see.

  • kinda like how some people find out by your favorite band through guitar hero :/

  • The important thing is that they find out about him. I mean just cause some people find out through a show or game it doesn't make it worse. If it makes u feel better think of the show or game as the persons friend passin them the cd and goin "check this out, this guy is probably one of the best emcee's you ever heard"

  • Yeah, asheru is something special. I just wish this was the kind of thing which played on the radio.

I don't like being the only one of my friends who doesn't listen to mainstream =/

  • Ferreal man...

I feel you man... I really wish my friends, or just people in general would open their eyes and see what the real meaning of hip hop really is... I too, with just the few people like you, am a music outcast from even my own group of friends... Asheru really is a this-era phenomenon, his music will last through the generations and be timeless to the ones who truely appreciate hip hop for what it really is...

  • @KpW4lk3r lol music outkast here to! and proud of it.!

  • @KpW4lk3r if this is real hip hop.. im sorry that i ever said i hated it.. i got it confused with "pop" i know.. it's a fail but.. it's a problem... there are bad songs out there.. "justin beaver" and others... but ashrue he is true he makes hip hop difrent, the soul of music flows in his voice... the rhyming words are music to my ears... the rythem of the song is the beat in the nod of my head, hip hop is now my soul and my heart, hopefully ppl with thumb it up, so others can see like I did...

  • @KpW4lk3r listen to blu and exile.....ur welcome in advanced lol

  • I wish there were more artists like this on the radio as well...

I really wish I were there in the 90's to witness hip hop at its peak with many, many great artists who spoke about real problems in todays society, like the homeless, abuse, rape, and drug addiction...

  • hip hop still lives

  • wtf are you with us or against us

  • hip hop is not dead...

it just faked its death and was buried underground...

this is one example of what that means...

if you hear this and say hip hop is dead, you have an extremely corrupted understanding of what real hip hop is....

  • like he said. all you have 2 do is shut down the T.V and click on the computer. and listen 2 the streets 2 whats really hot. theres a lot of mC's out here who ain'ty dumbin it down Asheru is just 1 of many.

  • pro rapper

  • this some "nod yo' head to this" type music, crusin' in da car type music, chill with ya homies and bump this type music. This song ill!!!
